Stopped in for dinner and saw that they had Pork Katsudon on the menu. This is one of my favorite Japanese comfort food dishes. When the plate, yup...not a bowl, arrived (don or donburi literally means "bowl" in Japanese) I knew this was not going to even be close to traditional Katsudon. There was no broth. The broth is critical to create the sweet and umami flavor of Katsudon. It is traditionally made with dashi, soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar in a shallow pan called a donburi pan. The rice, egg and pork were all separated on a plate. The pork was overly deep fried to extra crispy and drizzled with Tankatsu sauce. So, no bowl, no broth to soak into the breading of the pork and wrong sauce...nope, not even close to the flavor of traditional Katsudon, so I cannot recommend this item. Anyway, the sushi was okay. The restaurant was clean and service prompt and friendly. read more

It is great sushi for the area and our go to spot! The prices aren't bad either. I will say if you're visiting from the US the spicy mayo is not good, but that has been the trend at every sushi place in this area so far. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. read more

I ordered cooked dishes which consisted of chicken skewers, ribs, special fried rice, and the salmon dinner. I could barely eat the chicken skewers. The salmon dinner was absolutely horrible. I took one bite of salmon which was fishy. It did not look fresh at all. The rice was so over cooked, it was mush. the beef ribs were salty; they also were hard and looked like they had been warmed up in a microwave. The barely edible chicken skewers also seemed like they were heated up in the microwave. The special fried rice had none of the other stuff in fried rice; egg, onion etc. it was just white rice with soy sauce and bits of hard beef, chicken, and the one or two shrimp in the dish. I also don't know what was up with the teriyaki sauce used on the salmon dinner; it had a jelly consistency. I wish I could give it zero stars. The food was absolutely inedible and just horrible! read more

Quality sushi, it's always very good and consistent. If it's a busy night then the wait times can get long, but the service is good. I always order to go, love their Maki rolls and Nigiri. They also have good fried rice! read more

This place is worth the try :) we normally get sushi, but ordered Chinese take-out and it was delicious! Wasn't heavy like it typically is in America and the flavor was definitely there! Had lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. Everyone said they had pretty good sushi but come on now, who expects to find decent sushi in a Chinese owned restaurant in the middle of nowhere England. I had an order of tuna and salmon nigiri and a spicy tuna roll and all tasted great. There was really nothing to complain about in the quality of the food even under these circumstances. It is a small little whole in the wall place with lackluster decor but I enjoyed the food which was moderately priced. Would certainly go again if I'm in the area. I love the personal drawings from the customers that were posted on the wall. The place is small and clean. The food was not too bad, surprisingly tasty. The sushi was fresh and satisfied my sushi cravings! The flavors of the honey sesame chicken was there but not enough chicken meat and outer crust ratio wasn't good. Too much outer dough crust. It's worth a try but I would personally prefer sushi and miso soup here. read more

We come here every 2 weeks once we get paid lol because we spent at least £70 each time. I love love love their rainbow roll. That's about the only thing I order here besides their octopus balls and miso. But times I want to try something different, they all end up tasting really good. Best sushi I've had in England so far... Well in the mildenhall, lakenheath area. The miso soup was delicious, their crispy maki was crispy :) you could hear the crunch. The sashimi we ordered and the rainbow roll tasted really fresh... Since I got here, of all the sushi places I've tried, the fish would taste frozen or have a fishy unpleasant taste. But here the salmon is "smooth" tasting... Fresh... Delicious! The owner was really nice and conversed with us. Always a plus. read more

I've come here on a few different occasions, and each time the food is delicious. Being a major sushi lover, I can't say this is the best place I've been to, but they do serve great food, including the non-sushi items. The only real draw back is that the restaurant inside is small and the restaurant is in a almost hidden location. But, so far I'll keep coming back here. For Japanese food in England, it's good. After living in Japan for years, I was disappointed. The tonkatsu curry, was vegetable based instead of pork based. It was good, but not normal Japanese curry. The Katsudon didn't come in bowl, but with egg and rice separate. I was able to stir it up a bit, but the egg wasn't runny enough to coat the rice. The portions are large and I will go back. read more
