I've been ordering from them because they're the only Japanese place that Grubhub seems to use. I've put up with the mediocre food quality because it's delivered. But the quality isn't that good. Their gyoza are typically more like leather than any gyoza I've ever had elsewhere. Their sushi rolls are small and stingy. The kicker though was my most recent order. Tonkatsu, with no sauce. Gyoza, no sauce. And that's bad when the gyoza are as tough as leather. And on the other order, they just changed the sashimi from tuna to salmon without asking. Very poor service. I waited around 15 minutes for my pickup order, and the staff kept saying it was getting ready, but they never gave me the order. I had to cancel it because of the long wait. They should communicate honestly about wait times and have orders ready when promised. read more

My partner and I have been here multiple times now and have never been disappointed. This time we got the Lake Tahoe, Folsom, and spicy tuna roll. All very tasty! I decided to try Andy's Tokyo Sushi for the first time through DoorDash, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality, flavor, and freshness of everything I ordered. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced with generous portions. I ordered the Zig Zag Hand Roll (Soft Shell Crab), Sunomono Salad, Miso Soup, Sake Nigiri, and a 49er Roll. The miso soup was perfectly balanced and comforting, just as expected. The Sunomono salad was huge! My photo doesn't do it justice! Easily enough for multiple meals. The Zig Zag Hand Roll was phenomenal -- honestly better than Mikuni! The 49er Roll was bursting with flavor, and the touch of lemon on top was perfect. The Sake Nigiri was incredibly fresh with a thick, beautiful cut of salmon. Everything exceeded my expectations. I'll definitely be ordering from here again soon! read more

This is my second time here. Both times were great experiences. This place is nice for any occasion and the staff is friendly. I'm not saying it's upscale but with a cute outside setting that's small and intimate and cute lighting inside this place seems like it comes alive at night! We have been loyal customers of this restaurant for years and have always enjoyed coming here as a family. We tip well, are respectful, and I routinely clean up after our table. especially because our daughter is 3 years old and has special needs. Tonight we came to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Shortly after being seated, the server told me I "needed to control my daughter." At first I didn't understand due to a language barrier, so I politely asked her to explain. She then told me my daughter was "out of control" and eats too messy. My daughter is a young child with special needs who gets excited when she eats sushi. She was not being disruptive. just messy, which I always take responsibility for and clean up. The comment felt judgmental, humiliating, and deeply hurtful, especially coming from a place we have supported for years. We left without ordering, and my daughter was heartbroken and crying because she didn't understand why she couldn't have her birthday sushi. I understand restaurants have standards, but there is a way to communicate concerns with kindness and understanding, especially when children and disabilities are involved. Unfortunately, this experience made us feel unwelcome and disrespected, and it has changed how we view the restaurant. Another classic lunch choice for ordering to-go in our household. We like basic rolls and nigiri and Tokyo Sushi is our favorite place to order online or over the phone and pick up hassle free. Good prices keep us ordering at least once a month and the staff is always so happy and friendly when you come in. Although the food is very good, I have had a similar situation to where I felt uncomfortable.Because I had a child that was autistic and would also kind of make a mess and I would clean up after them.And they would tell me not to worry about it, but it came to a point where, in front of my son, they told me to get control of him in broken english.It was hard to understand and was saying something about the mess that has happened in the past. Yum! We love this place! My friend and I have a new tradition now. We get our 1 hour foot massages at Happy Day Spa and then we groggily head a few feet away to Tokyo Sushi for some amazing Japanese food while we catch up with each other's lives. They have a wonderful outdoor dining area, which is person when my friend brings her dog. And when the weather is great like it has been lately, we get to bask in the sunshine and breathe fresh air while enjoying some fabulous food. Lots of parking, friendly employees, great food. I got this as a quick bite after a work out. The service was somewhat slow. The chefs and waiters were yelling in the middle of the restaurant. They were trying to solve some sort of problem.. but not something you really want to be doing when your customers are eating around you. The sushi was also not great. Food is okay. The place is never busy. But they charged my card an extra $10 tip on top of the 20% that I put on the receipt. Probably just a mistake, right? They found my receipt when I called and said a manager would get back to me later that day. Three days later, a lady calls me up, no real apology, then asks me to drive an hour round trip to get the $10 in cash "because we can't do a credit card credit". The service was great but it was pretty slow and the three rolls we had were all good. It's reasonably priced, clean and comfortable.
