The museum is located next to Great Yarmouth Library on middle gate road. This is a great place to bring your children to show a bit of great yarmouth history. However, it may not be practical if you have mobility problems as you have to climb a set of stairs in order to enter the museum. The admission is very cheap at £1.75 for kids and £3.50 for adults. When you enter you are greeted by the guide who gives you background information about the history of the Tolhouse and discribes the process of how the court worked in those days. My son particarly enjoyed hearing about the pirates. There are several rooms where the children can do activities which is great fun. At the basement of the Tolhouse is were the cells are kept and you can feel that there is a strange atomosphere down there. I have to amit that me and son only made it half way down the stairs as we were too scared to go into the dunguns. read more
