Another location whose relatively low rating on Yelp needs to go up, I believe. This restaurant was one of the most romantic restaurant-sights I saw in Vienna, once I passed it by in the evening. You have to imagine, Mediterranean candle-lit dinner in Berlin kind of casual surroundings - just lovely. So, I knew it immediately, first opportunity and I would book a table for two.
The Saturday evening was indeed lively and Toma tu tiempo well-frequented. We were seated at a cute tiny table next to the fireplace... Romantic indeed, but soon we were glowing from the heat too, though somehow I did not mind. Instead of getting too deep into the analysis of the menu, I opted for the tapas mix by the chef. I was a bit disappointed that there were only 4 on my plate, and each one seemed much simpler than the separate two tapas that we ordered in addition. Moreover, one third of my plate was occupied by a pile of pimientos - they tasted beyond excellent, but I expected just a bit more variety. Plus the salt they were covered in was decorative, but excessive. However, only the meatballs were rather boring (as they usually are), everything else tasted great. I mean, this option costs around 16 Eur, so 4 tapas is what you get. But you will still probably end up happier if you make your own choice from the menu. It is just that I need an hour longer for the selection then :).
Even if I would still rate the food here with around 4 stars, I must help increase the overall rating of this lovely spot in Vienna. The fact that they offer breakfast, lunch or dinner in combination with Spanish classes is another great way to differentiate. As soon as I come back to learning Spanish, I would love to try out that course in fact! read more
