I was riding my bicycle, lost consciousness during the ride, and crashed the bicycle as a result. I arrived at hospital unconscious with several broken bones, etc. after an ambulance ride. After getting through rehab from the injuries, I was able to get an appointment at Cardiovascular Experts. After a thorough exam including echocardiogram and heart catheterization we attributed the loss of consciousness that resulted in the bicycle crash to that valve having failed sufficiently and was now "bad enough" for corrective surgery. A TAVR was arranged for, and afterwards several weeks of cardiac rehab. Now, at nearly 80 years of age, I'm back to nearly "normal" activity, including riding the bicycle.
