Well, what can I say; everything is already on the internet?!?! A must visit, at least once in your life. So much, too much to do and see. And of course, so much to eat. But you know that because you are following. Things to do: Eiffel Tower (you can skip the 2 Michelin Star restaurant, we were not impressed; see other review), Louvre, Palace of Versailles (approximately an hour away), museums, churches (Notre Dame, so many), free walking tours (tip), wine, wine, and more wines, etc. Other things to do that we did NOT do: Cruise the Seine River, Normandy D-Day, Hop on Hop off bus, Disneyland, Moulin Rouge, etc. And follow all my reviews and pictures. Ambiance - Anything and everything you can think of. Romantic, adventurous, historic, foodie, touristy, etc. In the heart of Paris. City center = 2.1m population. Paris = 11m population. Size = 105 km square. Service - Most positive. For us, approximately 1 out of 10 rude people, but sadly that is anywhere and everywhere in the world. Price - Expensive, but still a must do. I've been to Paris a couple of times before and have seen well-known things like the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, but I didn't know that the incorrupt body of Saint Catherine Labouré was in the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal. Another Interesting landmark was The Wall of Love which featured the phrase, "I love you", in different languages. We also got a change to visit Missions Etrangeres de Paris (Foreign Missions of Paris) which wasn't open, but the receptionist was very helpful and friendly! It was nice to be back in the "City of Light" and learn about another aspect of Paris.

I love and respect how EFFICIENT and all-business the French are. I like it that way. Keep it professional! Their public transportation was on point. I think they improved their metro system for the Paris Olympics. On averaged we waited 5 minutes for the metro, and we were able to transfer to different lines we needed to get around. The French were quiet and respectful on the Metro, so I get why they would be annoyed at travelers who are not respectful of their space. Among my European travels, Paris is without a doubt my favorite. They had the most impressive attractions that you have to experience in real life to get its' fully beauty, such as the Louvre, the Eiffel Tour, or a minor detour to the Versailles Palace. I especially loved walking around at night along the Seine river and admiring the Eiffel Tour from different angles, and seeing the shimmer for 5 minutes on the hour every hour at night. I also love baked goods and you can get delicious croissants and pastries in Paris just going to any patisserie without the need to do research prior. Even buying bread and butter from the market was delicious. A true simple pleasure in the everyday life. I also want to emphasize on how CLEAN they are. So clean! We came during the fall and we saw the leaves getting swept at night and they would spray the streets with high pressure water to clean the streets. So clean!! Even the metros are clean!! Not smelliness compared to other leading public transportation systems like in London or Tokyo. The only thing that I had difficulty with in Paris was all the smoking... Before coming here I imagined myself sitting outside at the cafes people watching and admiring the streets of Paris... but in reality that's the smoker's area. Too much pollution for me. Nevertheless I still love Paris. It has unparalleled beauty. I would not hesitate to come back when opportunity allows.

Sure, They spruced it up and the gold is blingier. Sure there are tons of tourists to join you and the lines are long so be patient my friends. It will be worthwhile. How often do you get to walk the halls where the Sun King ruled? There is the main palace, then three little castles and Marie Antoinettes little hamlet. Do go through the main castle and don't forget to go to the hamlet. The latter was under renovation but you can still see and all the cute animals. Most of all, bask in the opulence. You will not regret coming here!

The major thing we wanted to do in Paris was visit the catacombs, an underground ossuary containing…read morethe bones of more than six million people. The catacombs are part of Paris' abandoned mine and quarry network, and bones were moved to the catacombs because the cemeteries were running out of space. The first bones were transferred from the Cimetière des Saints-Innocents after the cemetery was closed in 1780 due to overuse. The catacombs are an extremely popular attraction, and purchasing tickets in advance is highly recommended as a limited number of people are admitted each hour, and with good reason -- the experience would be extremely unpleasant if overly crowded. However, you can only purchase tickets one week in advance, and the catacombs are not open on Mondays. The two full days we were in Paris were Sunday and Monday, so I had to ensure that we were able to get tickets for Sunday April 7. Fortunately I was successful! Tickets were €29 each, although per the website, they are now €31. Unfortunately, the catacombs are not accessible for people in wheelchairs or who have mobility issues -- the 1.5km long route has 243 stairs -- 131 to descend and 112 to ascend. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and if you want to see bones and skulls (no full skeletons, though), the Paris catacombs won't disappoint! We unfortunately had 105 degree weather in Paris and literally this tour was a "cool" experience for the history and the temperature - literally. The narrow streets and adorable cottages are very appealing architecturally, and make for great photograph hunting. That said, this "Flower City" is not really bursting with colorful flora, at least in July. And at least a couple weeks after the record-breaking heat wave that hit France. So, consider those factors, but it may also be that spring is the best time to see this area bursting with flower color. It had plenty of greenery, however, along the walls and wrought iron fences. I may have called it Cite Verte. The cottages themselves were unique and quirky. This is not in the tourist areas of Paris. It is accessible by Metro and by footpower! This area is about a 15-20 minute walk south of Metro stops Glaciere/Corvisart/Place d'Italie, if that helps. I found my accidental route coming in from the east of Place de Rungis on Rue Brillat-Savarin to be a bit sketchy. If I knew that in advance, I would have walked Vergniaud, Bobillot or Barrault south from Blvd Auguste Blanqui, and then looped my way back up via weaving through those other streets in between that catch the eye. There was a quaintness about that area that I think fellow village-lovers would appreciate. There are neighborhoods of photo-worthy architecture and sites, as well as plenty of cafes as you make your way north from Cite Florale up toward main Blvd Auguste Blanqui, weaving in and out of interesting streets between Rue Vergniaud and Rue Bobillot from the Place de Rungis. The City Florale is within a little triangle bordered by Rue Brillat-Savarin, Rue August Lancon, and Rue Boussingault. Be super respectful if you find yourself in this little corner of cuteness. And remember, I didn't *send* you, I just *told* you about it and shared my photos. ;-) This was the description I found that put this place on the map during my visit: "Cité Florale is a little "village" nested in the heart of the 13th. It is made up of six little lanes named after flowers. Built on former meadow regularly flooded by nearby Bièvre river, the spongious soil made it impossible to build heavy constructions, so it was decided to build these cute little houses instead in 1928. Look for Rues: Orchidees, Liserons, Iris, Glycines, Volubilis."

We took the RER E to Magenta and walked to the Gare du Nord to get on the M4 and exited at Chateau Rouge to get to the Montematre. When we arrived to the area, there were many souvenir shops and snack vendors on our way up the mountain. It was quite a treat. There is also a cute merry-go-round at the foot of the Basilique du Sacre-Couer. And don't stop at the Basilique du Sacre-Coeur. There are more hidden gems to be found. We explored into this hidden area with artists of all types: chalk, paint, pens, etc and painting, caricature, impressionism, portrait, drawings... and many works of premade art on display. The air was so lively and fascinating. If I didn't have to worry about a few more flights and trainings to be on and worried about damage, I would have purchased a custom piece of art. There are also a lot of cute boutiques, cafes, and other stairways of magnificent views from the peak. I recommend setting aside ample time to wonder the area at your own leisure.

I was in Paris closer to 2 weeks and had some down time on my final day before late afternoon plans. Rue Crémieux, "Paris' most colorful street", was a nice walk from where I was and quickly became my destination. Lucky for me, I also knew of the nearby Coulée Verte René-Dumont, an elevated 3-mile long park/walking path, because Rue Crémieux is something you'll be done with inside of 10 minutes. Is it lovely? Yes, but it's in no way worth going out of your way for. This is not San Francisco's "painted ladies". With a cobblestone street and lack of cars it's got a unique charm, different than the streets you've already been hoofing for the past week but it's my belief that you should add this to your day only if you find yourself nearby, en route to something that'll take you more than 10 minutes to explore.

Definitely worth a stroll if you're in the area--perfect for a quick photo stop or a quiet moment away from the bustle.
