These are issues that have given me some sleepless nights. I was worried that they were unfix-able. Dan was able to fix each and every one. He re-wired a three-switch box that was crooked, recessed, and highly dangerous. Dan coated the wires with a fire safe material, pulled out the receptacles, and made that plate as straight as could be. I had no idea you could do that with old, fabric-lined wiring and drywall. He made it look darn good. He also fixed the wiring in the mantle. This was a circa 1970s mess. He rebuilt the casing behind the wall, drilled the concrete floor, and hid that outlet perfectly. He also changed 3-4 receptacles pretty quickly. Dan had all the tools/supplies he needed. No running out to the local supply store like most have. He arrived on time. He was courteous, knowledgeable, and very informative about this old house. Yet, the best part about this experience was that Dan is a nice guy. Must have storytelling in his genes? He had me laughing. That is what you should expect when someone comes to work on your home. A pleasant person to engage with. Who wants grumpy, non-engaging, Mr. creepy to work on your home? Dan is a pleasure to work with and a good conversationlist. He made it less harrying particularly with the cost too. Even though he took the time to explain my wiring issues and told me some funny, interesting stories, he never charge me extra for his time. This was a unexpected surprise. The summer of 25 our AC unit completely failed after changing out various parts by myself over the years. I had 2 other companies come out and look at it, and both came back relatively close in price, but timeline for repair was totally unacceptable for my situation. With a pregnant wife, and temps hitting 90+ inside the house, a fan could only do so much. I reached out to Dilling, on a recommendation from a neighbor that had owned a HVAC company but sold to another vendor. Seemed a bit off, but when we called, and spoke with the lady on the phone, I completely understood why. Her ability to sense why I was calling on a 95* day was impeccable. They were out that same day, and I do believe that the man saw the desperation in my eyes as he panned over to my pregnant wife and placed his hand on my shoulder. He not only took interest in why i had continued to fix the old heap, but was more impressed that I genuinely had no clue what I was talking about, but kept it running. I called things by the wrong names, that I had made up and he sort-of knew what part i was talking about after some explaining of where and what it looked like. His diagnosis was the same as the other two companies. It is completely dead. Replace only. but then what happened next surprised me. the guy took a few phone calls, not from other jobs, but he put out a call to help find us some better pricing. were they wholesalers? Competitors? cousins who "find" things? couldnt tell you. but what i will say is that he not only got us a great deal for a FULL UNIT, upstairs and outside, he was able to get it done within a couple short days. When the install was happening, along side of all the techs, all the people who knew what they were doing, this guy was doing the install too. not just watching. Dennis was a hero for me that day, and I've only had to call them for minor questions, that were my own stupidity for not listening initially, which I heard from my wife first. I can' t say enough good things about this company. truly. they were there when we needed them most, they made real efforts to help us with price, and held their word with timelines, and had me up and chilly in 2 total days of work. outstanding. just outstanding. oh, and its now 7/2026. in the heatwave. and its still 71* inside. no issues to report with quality of units, price, timeline, customer service, or quality of work and install. 10/10.

My sister hired Alan Halteman from Tri-State Air Duct Cleaning to clean the air ducts in her family's home for the first time. He was referred by a friend. (Most likely another clueless customer) My sister never writes reviews, so I am posting this on her behalf. Apparently, Alan never asked about the house layout, square footage, or the number of HVAC units before providing a quote. They have two units. She assumed the flat rate of $900, quoted over the phone, was for the entire house. However, as soon as he arrived and started working, the story changed. He claimed that the quote only covered the first level of the house and that cleaning the upper level would cost an additional $900. He also said he didn't have enough time that day to clean the second floor. He apologized for the "misunderstanding" and offered to charge $800 plus tax for the first floor instead of $900. She allowed him to proceed and paid him at the end. According to her, he did not remove some of the return covers/vent covers who were high up on the ceiling during cleaning. Instead, he simply inserted a thin tube through the vent openings. (Another red flag!) In the end, she would have had to pay $1,700 to clean the air ducts in a 2,400-square-foot colonial home. The already excessive price did not even include sanitizing the system. In her experience, this felt like a classic bait-and-switch pricing tactic. Totally dishonest! Remeber, a legitimate air duct cleaning company should ask about your home's square footage, the number of HVAC systems or zones, and provide a transparent, all-inclusive quote before ever arriving at your property. In New Jersey, the legitimate market price to clean the air ducts for a 2,400-square-foot house (assuming a standard multi-zone setup with 2 separate HVAC systems) ranges from $950 to $1,200 total for the entire home.
