Was craving some Ramen and saw this place on Yelp. Was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the shoyu ramen. It had a simple and clean flavor. The Cha shu was not too fatty and wasn't dried out. It really hit the spot. Ordered agadashi Tofu and Spicy tuna rolls for appetizers, both were well prepared. My wife had the BiBimBap. Which was actually Dol Sot BiBimBap so that was a nice surprise. I'm so happy we chose to go at here for dinner. The twinkle lights in the wooden doorway just set the mood right away and I loved looking around at the super cute decor with the bottles and cute figurines. This place was busy but not too crowded so I knew it would be good the moment I stepped inside. The tong box we got was amazing such a good bento box packed with a lot of great stuff delicious gyoza and bulgogi and I loved being able to swap out the California roll for a spicy tuna for a dollar extra totally worth it! Quaint ramen spot to check out! We got the tonkatsu ramen. It's flavorful and good. The service was fast and great. The spot is so nice and cozy. When we stepped in, it absolutely reminded me of Japan, so that was nice. We got the booth and at first I was reluctant to sit there, but once we got to seated, it was actually pretty cool. When spots opened up, they offered to move us, but I ended up preferring the cute booth. It is a smaller spot, so seating can be limited. We were there on a Friday night and it had a decent flow. Really cute Japanese place with online ordering and exceptionally friendly service. Looks like this is run by a nice Asian couple. We called and ordered a few items like the Baked Salmon Roll (our favorite and at a decent price for $14) and some bentos. What a cute sake house. Staff were friendly and I stopped by specifically for their bulgogi fries which are now called KB Fries. They come with bulgogi sausage and karage chicken by default but I requested only bulgogi. They were delicious and big enough to share. My only complaint is the cream soda, as good as it was and for a fair price, I guess the package it comes in is not BPA free. I'm sure staff aren't aware of that but there is a warning label on the bottle that I hadn't noticed until after drinking some. This wasnt very comforting since I'm pregnant and trying to be cautious (and did so well to avoid having the sushi as tempting as it looked!). Not gonna dock them any stars for that, its moreso on me and reminds me to be more careful to ask to see things before consuming rather than assuming. At any rate, give them a try their team works hard and it shows, they're friendly and the food is made fresh and arrives to your table pretty fast. This is a nice little Asian restaurant located in poway. I seem to always forget about this place and finally took the chance to review after eating yesterday night. There is plenty of parking and it is located in a shopping center. The inside is fairly small and I would not recommend for groups larger than 8 because only one table can seat a group of this size. All tables fit the typical four to a group, so keep this in mind for wanting to come for dinner for the chance that it may be a wait. ALL the food was delicious. Even the sides were super yummy! The soups were HUGE. The broth had such nice flavor for both the ramen and the udon. The soy sauce eggs are so yummy but I wish they were not cold. However, once placed in the ramen it does get warm. There is a lunch special from 11:30-2:00 which is a nice quick little meal. There is a huge selection of asian drinks/alcohol. There is a bathroom located in the restaurant and for the most part the workers are very quick to clean the tables. You can tell that there is a lot of online or phone orders due to the heavy display of to go containers visible at the registers. It seems that they separate the broth from the ramen toppings/noodles for to go orders. Finally made my way back again for lunch. Don't have to fight for parking, there's plenty. They serve bento boxes, rolls, noodles, and rice bowls. I got the lunch special which was Ramen plus a side ($16.99). The sides was basically a mini meal. You could choose from spicy tuna, chicken, bulgogi, poke bowl, California roll or spicy tuna roll. I got poke bowl. It was a delicious meal. The poke bowl came out first. I got the spicy Tonkotsu ramen. It wasn't spicy but the noodles tasted great, chewy and had a nice texture. This was an interesting twist for us being new to the area. The food is always fresh and delicious. We moved farther away so we use a delivery service now. When considering a ramen restaurant and sushi, one usually has to decide between the two. This is not the case here! Tong has LEGIT ramen and fantastic sushi! Tonkatsu ramen (not pictured-so sorry) is usually my go-to and the broth was so deliciously rich with the most tender slices of pork. Yum. We thoroughly enjoyed the rainbow roll and the lemon-cilantro roll. The sushi is fresh and is the quality you would expect from a sushi establishment. We also ordered tempura shrimp and bulgogi beef. Our picky toddlers completely devoured both! The Ginjo sake was incredibly smooth-reminiscent of excellent quality sake you'd find in Tokyo-so give that a try if you're looking to try a smooth sake! I would ideally give this spot 3.5 stars :) This restaurant is located in a big shopping plaza, so lots of parking. Pretty easy to find. I visited on a weekday for dinner and there was no wait to be seated. Cute little shop, very clean. Service was great, our waitress kept checking up on us to make sure we were good and had water. Their portions are huge. I got their chicken teriyaki bento box that comes with a roll, side salad, and some tempura. A lot of sauce on the chicken and rice. My friend got their udon combo which came with a side of an entree and rice and it was so much food! Definitely really generous for the price. However, the taste wasn't great - seemed like really basic American-Asian food or similar to at-home Asian dishes. There are just so many good Asian spots in SD, especially Mira Mesa or Convoy, that are hard to beat. A good option if you have to stay in the Poway area though! read more

We came here for lunch and ordered ahi poke rice bowl and poke tuna bento box. The portions are great! The ahi poke rice bowl is not your typical poke rice bowl. The sauce is Korean Gochujang flavored! Very interesting twist to the poke bowl. The poke tuna bento box came with 4 piece California roll, salad, and 3 pieces of fried dumplings. The poke tune was spicy mayo based with lots of avocados and cucumber. The best part of our meal was the amazing service! The restaurant was really busy, so we had to wait for a while for the food. The waitress was super nice and offered us miso soup first, refilled our water multiple times, then asked if we wanted lemonade but paid by her! Omg! What a sweet offer! When we left, she gave us some kimchi to take home! Wow! It's so rare to get this level of service nowadays. I really appreciate the waitress's kindness. I went in on a Monday night around 5:30 PM and was able to be seated right away. The servers were really nice ladies and they took my order quickly. There are so many good-looking items on the menu like salads, plates, ramen, and rolls. I ended up ordering the ahi salad, japchae and bulgogi, and XXX roll. My favorites were the XXX and bulgogi and japchae. So delicious!!! I went back the same week for more! I loved this place and would definitely recommend. I will be going back again soon. read more

I'm happy to report how much better the experience was this time around and how kind the lady that served us was. I wanted to give their ramen another try and despite it still being a bit lackluster, I asked for some spice to be added. She brought a little bowl that had some spicy oil and paste. I added it to my ramen it completely brought it to life! So delish! I was actually just there last week and headed there again today to order the same exact thing. Very satisfied. On a separate occasion, the hubby ordered one of their lunch menu items which was a chicken rice bowl with noodles, edamame beans and a dumpling. He would've preferred it without the dressing of mayo but overall said he would order it again. And he finished off my ramen after I was done eating and said he enjoyed it quite a bit. I can order A bowl of Tonkotsu Ramen where I can make it regular or spicy. I always like a little kick to my food. It very good, I usually take it to go because I want to enjoy my bowl of ramen. For an extra 5$ you can do a pint of beer of your choice.
