She gave me a consultation before I even booked an appointment to make sure that I was on board with her vision for the cut, which really reassured me. It can be scary to have a new stylist, but I felt like she really "got" my hair. She's done it twice now and both times the results are fab. The color is gorgeous, I get so many compliments on my almost-platinum blonde locks! While the color sits in, you get a hand an arm massage which is lovely. The girls who do the massages and shampoo you are super friendly and always fun to chat with. People are always offering to bring you tea, coffee, and water. I stupidly brought my own tea last time, but I was immediately jealous of everybody else's lovely beverages. Will have to take advantage of that next time! Lisa cuts with skill and always lets me know what exactly she's going to do, and makes sure that I agree before proceeding. No surprises! And she takes a keen interest in her work - she always asks me to stop in sometime after the cut (she straightens it at the salon, but I normally wear it curly) so she can see the curls for herself and get a sense of how it looks! She has recommended products for me which I've just bought, as indeed my hair is as dry as she says it is. I know people don't like how they try to get you to buy products at salons, but her hair is so similar to mine - yet healthy and shiny instead of dry and frizzy - that I can't help but trust her! If she uses these products, clearly they work! Savannah isn't cheap, but I think you get what you pay for. I think with a cut and half-head of foils I usually pay around £100. I know it sounds a lot, but honestly in America I pay more than that, especially with the high tipping expectations there. Some people don't mind a cheap haircut, but if you're very particular like me, I think you'll find Savannah worth your while. The relaxing atmosphere and gracious staff always make me feel welcome and really add to the experience.

Now I'm never going back to a boring hairdressing with a normal stand thingy. Walking into the Arch, it's like a boudoir. All decadently decorated, you're seated at a piano, or a large dressing table with fancy mirrors, candlesticks and velvet things. It looks so stylish, it instantly makes you feel like you're in good hands. As for the hair. I had my hair done by a cracking young stylist whose name I forgot to take, but I'd definitely recommend her. I had a Groupon voucher, which was taken with zero-fuss. It's one of those cases where it'll work out for the company, as I've now found my new hairdresser and will be coming back paying full whack next time.

My husband booked me a haircut here after the birth of my son as a treat. The first time I arrived and was asked had i not received the message left for me, 'the girl who was booked to cut my hair was off ill'? I checked my phone, my husbands and the home phone although there was no message on any. However, as I was already there one of the Directors cut my hair, into a gorgeous style and i was only charged £15 for the cut. I was also given a booklet of money of vouchers to use on subsequent visits. I rebooked, with the Director, for around eight weeks later. I arrived to find the salon was still closed, so i had a bit of a wander around the Metrocentre to give them time to open up and get started for the day. When I returned, I was informed that the Director booked to cut my hair had 'rang in sick that day' so again my hair was cut by someone different! I didn't mind this although i was not told of the level of training that she had and so was not aware of the cost of the cut. I was expecting to pay around £35 as their website states the cost of a cut and finish by a Principal is £32. On making my payment I was charged £50, the girl behind the counter asked me if i had brought my vouchers as this would have saved me some money although I had forgotten to take them. The only way I can see that it could come to that cost is that they charged me for a cut and finish at £32 and also a shampoo and style at £18. Despite on both occasions the hairdresser booked not being available, my hair has been cut and i have never had to wait longer than 5 minutes for this to be arranged. Whilst the haircuts have both been fabulous and i was offered tea, coffee, biscuits and magazines throughout them I have really struggled to work out the costs of this salon. They don't appear to be very easy to work out and since I have been twice and haven't yet had my hair cut by the person that I had booked with I think i'm going to try elsewhere.

That changed today, 15/06/2025. A woman who's worked there since before I started coming -- though she'd never cut my hair until now -- turned what should've been a straightforward visit into an appalling display of unprofessionalism. I clearly explained what I wanted, then asked for a minor adjustment at the end: simply to take a bit more off the sides. The original cut took ten to fifteen minutes, the tweak added another five. Completely standard. What followed was nothing short of absurd. She became visibly annoyed, then snapped, claiming she'd given me three haircuts and claiming that she should be able to charge me three times the price. She then went on a rant, saying she didn't care if customers returned and that she'd been cutting hair for 22 years -- as though that gave her the right to be rude, dismissive, and downright hostile. Let's be clear: if a customer asks for a minor change, that's part of the job. That's not "three haircuts." And if English isn't their first language -- which in my case, it isn't -- a bit of patience goes a long way. She could've taken the opportunity to explain the proper terminology for the cut so I could get it right next time. Instead, she chose arrogance and aggression. Let's also be clear that most of her colleages have cut my hair by this point and never had an issue. She was tall, had light hair, and flatly refused to give me her name. Her name is Katie - she's on the Facebook page of the business. After today's embarrassing experience, I won't be returning -- and I wouldn't recommend anyone else subject themselves to that kind of treatment either.
