I haven't heard too many good things about the hotel associated with this place, but Tonic & Remedy is definitely worth a shot. The vibe and view alone are worth visiting this bar/ restaurant. The bar is located at the bottom and the restaurant is upstairs. Both have a rather lovely view of the city, so it's great for some people watching and socializing while you enjoy you your food and drink.
The drink menu is bigger than the food menu and offers an enormous variety of just about every boozey concoction you could possibly want. Even those of us with a huge sweet tooth are sufficiently satiated here. The cocktails are pricey, but worth it, if you have the money to spend.
The food menu also offers a wide variety of fancy dishes that aren't too pretentious, and the starters alone are enough to excite any foodie. The Crispy Ricotta Balls and Halloumi with Honey are on point; the creamy, deep-fried Halloumi cheese sticks with honey were so good, in fact, I could have cried. The salads are healthy without being boring, and pack a flavorful punch. The Confit Chicken Terrine has a delicious smokey essence from the grilled toast. And the burgers range from fried chicken to a vegetarian option made with portobello mushrooms and other goodness.
Their desserts alone are worth a trip, and while they have a slightly lighter option like the parfait and sorbet, I have to recommend the home made doughnuts with hot chocolate sauce and caramelized peanuts; definitely worth the calories.
Most of the starters are a permanent staple, but parts of the menu are subject to change, so if you see something you want to try, do so now, as you might not get another chance. You may want to make time to come here, though, as the food takes a while to come out. But hey, at least you know it's fresh. read more
