This place is always yummy. Cost is high up there tho and I think they made the pie smaller but the price went up lol they're very nice. Their pizza is always top notch tho. So I understand why it cost most than your usual place !!

It's been about a year since we had our last pizza from Tony D's, and more than three years since I posted my last review. Happily, very little has changed. That is to say, they continue to offer some of the best pizza you'll find in the northern NJ. We once again ordered the Drunken Grandma, which is a square, thin crust pie made with vodka sauce, grape tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, basil and grated parmigiano. We all agreed it was as delicious as we remembered it to be. It's not a cheap pizza, and it's not the largest square pie, ringing in at $25, but it's worth the price. They describe their pizza as "artisanal" which is a term that usually makes me cringe, but in this case it applies. The quality of the ingredients and the care that go into each pizza is really a cut above what you'll find at most pizzerias. Seriously, when was the last time you encountered hand-cut cherry tomatoes as a topping? It's worth mentioning that Tony D's remains a strictly take-out establishment, and parking can be challenging if you come at a busy time. Fortunately, the service is excellent, and your food will be ready at the time they quote. There is very little on the menu beside pizza other than a few salads and simple appetizer offerings. One non-pizza standout I've had several times is their Buffalo Wings ($12), which is made with their own homemade buffalo-ish sauce that I really like. There aren't many restaurants I review that retain 5-stars through three updates over eight years, but Tony D's is one of them, and it's well deserved.

Drunken grandma pie (vodka) was very unique and tasty. And I love how this place has slices (eg versus some other famous pizza places in Nj). I got a plain slice to keep it real. Yummy pizza, very nice staff. There is a back parking lot for 3 hour free parking.

This is the best pizza place in the Caldwells BY MILES. And the Caldwell's have no shortage of amazing pizza. So, this is a very high compliment. They never disappoint. The pizza is light and always cooked perfectly. I recently ordered in at a friend's house who insisted on ordering something called the "Ugly" pie which has garlic and broccoli and a bunch of other things. I was positive it wasn't a pizza I would like. I could not have been more surprised. It was excellent and I have ordered it to my home several times since (half ugly / half sausage & onion). The last time I called I told the person who answered that they needed to put tons of love in my order so I could prove to my house guests how amazing the pizza is. Take a look at the pizza box I received. They actually put extra love in my pizza and I could taste it! Tony D. is always working his a$$ off in the kitchen making sure every pie that is made is done to his standard. The. Best.

absolutely the best 16inch square with crumbled sausage. Take it from an 82year old who has had more pizza than Guy Fieri.

What arrived did not appear to have burrata on it, but instead looked like a different melted cheese. I called the restaurant and asked if they could replace the pizza. I was told a replacement was only available for pickup, and that I would have to place and pay for a new order if I wanted another pizza delivered. When I asked for a refund, I was told I needed to contact the third-party delivery provider because Dough does not process refunds for online delivery orders. I then contacted Toast, the platform used for the order, and was told they could not issue the refund and that I needed to contact the restaurant. I called Dough again, explained the situation, and offered to send a photo. I made it clear that I was not trying to get free food. I simply wanted the correct order. After being placed on hold, I was told that the melted cheese on the pizza was the burrata and that this was how they prepare it. I am including a photo because I have never seen burrata served this way on a pizza. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled was incredibly disappointing. I was passed back and forth, offered no reasonable delivery replacement or refund, and ultimately told that the pizza was correct despite what was delivered.

I'm honestly shocked this place isn't packed wall-to-wall every night -- this is the kind of pizza you expect to find in Naples . From the second you walk in, you know they take their craft seriously. Stacks of real wood, the authentic Pavesi Italian oven, and trays of perfectly risen dough balls -- it's the real deal. No shortcuts, no gimmicks. Just craftsmanship. I ordered two pies: White Pie with Mushrooms & Olives Incredible. The crust has that perfect leopard-spotted char, blistered just right, crispy on the outside but still soft and airy inside. The ricotta and mozzarella are super fresh, the mushrooms taste like they were sliced minutes before hitting the oven, and the olives add the perfect salty punch. Every bite tasted like it was straight out of a wood-fired pizza boutique. Classic Margherita One word: unreal. The sauce is bright and fresh, the cheese melts into little pools of heaven, and the basil actually survives the oven without turning bitter. Balanced, clean, and addictive. The crust is truly the star -- you can tell they use high-quality "00" flour and slow fermentation. Light, airy, not heavy at all. The kind of crust you want to eat all of, even the charred ends. The owner Mike clearly cares about every detail -- from the dough to the toppings to the oven temperature. This isn't "pizza shop pizza," this is artisanal, handcrafted, authentic wood-fired pizza done right. Prices are super fair for this quality. Cash-only but totally worth it. If you love real Neapolitan wood-fired pizza, put this place on your list immediately. Easily one of the best pies I've had in NJ -- maybe the best. I'll definitely be back .

The service was nice, especially because even though we were the only table sitting outside, they were consistently coming out to make sure we were doing OK and had everything we needed. We ordered some garlic knots, which were good, it just seemed a little bit pricey to charge for the marinara sauce separately, which was not really outstanding nor something special, so I would recommend you skip it. We also ordered the chicken vodka Parm pie which was very good. The chicken was very crispy and the pizza was still delicious the next day when we had the leftovers. One of her friends is allergic to gluten, so it was very nice that they were able to accommodate for her. I do wanna point out that we have been to many places that offer gluten-free options and this is the first one I've been to that does charge you extra to make a gluten-free. In terms of price, it is very similar to the other places in Montclair but they do provide very good service and the ambience both outside and inside is very nice.
