The best pizza place in bushwick, dare I say all of Brooklyn. Pizza phenomenal, garlic knots superb.

Let me start off by saying the pizza here is really good. It comes out hot, crispy, and fast, and with no flop, which is a sign of a good slice. I've come here twice, once last night, and once back in February. I'm giving three stars just because of some of the guys behind the counter, who I thought were a little too friendly for an interaction between strangers. The guy behind the counter who I paid called me "sweetie" and "mami" in one interaction, which made me extremely uncomfortable. When I'm just trying to enjoy some pizza, that kind of thing was sort of unnecessary in my opinion. I wished the interaction with the staff had remained professional. But, all in all, good pizza at this place! read more

Always love this local pizza restaurant in Middle of Brooklyn, Bushwick. There is a great selection of such a New York style pizzas. I most likely go to the cheese slice and garlic knots. So finally after living in Ridgewood for 27years I decided to get a slice from here in August 2023. I was kinda disappointed. The service was good! The staff was on point and I was happy I got a fresh pepp slice! My mom got a regular slice but the cheese was bland sadly and I've had way better slices. Stopped by for lunch with my dad and got a slice of chicken broccoli, margherita, and Hawaiian. This was my first taste of NY style pizza in New York so I couldn't really compare it to any other pizza places I'd been to yet. The crust was just ok, kind of floppy (is it supposed to be like that?) so I had to fold each slice. Margherita had the best sauce while chicken broccoli had the best balance. Whatever cheese that topped the Hawaiian slice was way too greasy and heavy for my liking plus they skimped on the pineapple. Flavor is 4/5 but for the price, I would seek out another place. Called for pickup as they don't do delivery service at all, I asked for 3 cheese calzones and 1 large pepperoni pizza! They told me 20 minutes, I came in 30 minutes after to give them some time, but no the guy isn't even ready yet not only that they didn't even give me no napkins or forks and no knifes for the calzones. I get home from the blistering cold and we open the food and my mom is yapping about the calzones being RAW AND DOUGHY, I checked them and sure enough they were so raw that I can play with it like play dough. At this point I still didn't even eat them, my money and time down the drain and than on top of that I called to try to resolve this matter but the socalled "Manager" gave me nothing no apology just gave me an attitude and told me to come with the calzones as if I got the time. Smh Ive been a longtime customer for years and as a chef I wouldn't serve that. Imagine getting playdough with cheese cuz that what I got for $6 a piece. What a ripoff. I moved away from here to a different part of Brooklyn almost 5 years ago and when I crave pizza I still dream about Tonys. They don't really deliver and even if they did I probably would be just outside their delivery zone. My craving hit so hard that last night I decided to do postmates to pick me up some Tonys pizza. Paying for postmates is a lot extra but honestly all the pizzas I've tried on Grub hub have been ok-but-not great. I worried if in 5 years, things might have changed, or that I even just had rose tinted glasses for Tony's pizza. Did I just spend a lot extra on delivery for something that could never live up to fond memories? My pizza arrived still hot and to my amazement and delight it was still exactly what I always dream of in a pizza. Lots of mozzerella, soft chewable dough, and a delicious sauce that isn't over done. I have been going to Tony's Pizzeria, or I like to call it Dekalbs Pizza for about 20 years. This is the best pizza in Bushwick hands down. The Sicilian slice is everything! A perfect mix of mozzarella cheese,sauce and doughy bread. I also love all of the ICE they sell in the summer. The location is small so good luck finding a seat because it is busy ( but that's how you know it's good). They are opened late ( thank God! ). Unfortunately they don't deliver. This is a good neighborhood pizzeria that looks like its a throwback to when the area was Italian (like Circo Pastry Shop down the block). Nice setup and storefront, busy enough, mostly Italian behind the counter. A bad thing I saw was that behind the counter they had a good 10 pizzas ready for slice reheats. While this is efficient, the slice I tasted definitely suffered because of this. Maybe the sicilian is the thing to get here, as the only pie I saw was on the counter. The slice had a decent crust which could've been crisper, especially on a reheat. There was a too much cheese, but the sauce was very good. Overall it wasn't quite solid, but it was good for $2 and definitely a pizzeria I'd love to have in my neighborhood. Okay, so the pizza is really quite good. Fresh and delicious, and only $2. Definitely the best in the area. Sprinkle a little parmesan on there, and you'll be carried away by little pizza angels with golden harps. I have frequently burned the top of my mouth by not bothering to let the darn thing cool off before devouring it whole. The only thing that prevents this from being a five-star spot is the scene. Tripping over small unattended young children, and the dodging crazy locals yelling cat-calls at you while you're patiently waiting to get served. There is rarely seating inside. My brother and I tried this place for our first night in Brooklyn. We walked to it from the Subway. It was delicious, and when you are starving, it is even better! Be careful with your sizes! We got a large just for the two of us, and when we sat down and ate it, my brother had two slices and I only had one! They are huge and very-very filling. We had leftovers from this pizza through our entire trip in NY. IT IS CASH ONLY. Thankfully we had cash on hand, because we were starving. But we got the chicken and bacon large pizza and it was so good. Even the next day it was delicious. There is street parking. Limited seating. Since it was a Saturday, it was packed, but luckily we were able to get a spot. When we are back in NY, we will definitely be returning. read more

Some of the worst pizza I've had as a life long New Yorker. Couldn't even make it half way through 1 of the 2 slices I ordered. The oil was oozing and dripping from all over. Way too much cheese and a very basic sauce. The slice was absolutely inedible and hard to believe they're in business for so many years. Really disappointing. Stopped by when I had about 20 minutes between appointments. Small place with about a dozen tables. Nothing to write home about decor wise, but the pizza makes up for it. I ordered 2 slices and was pleasantly surprised. I wasn't expecting much but they sure delivered. The slices were thick with a perfect blend of cheese and sauce.
