They charged my account for the pizza and we went about our business, projects and things that would make us hangry for sure. Hour and half later no pizza and when calling we discover our pizza been sitting on their counter, waiting possibly for someone to come pick it up. They said they called to figure out if it was for delivery or pick up, but didn't leave a message, and then didn't know what to do with the pre-paid pizza. Gave them a second chance, waited a long time, got charged for a pizza that never came. Tonight is the 2nd time that I have ordered online and was notified that they didn't have a driver. I got a call asking if I wanted to come pick the order up. If I wanted to pick the order up, I wouldn't have requested delivery. This time just like the last time, I now have to wait 3-4 days for the refund on my card. After looking at the reviews on yelp for recommendations, I was disappointed as the reviews were not very good. Let me start off by saying... we enjoy tony's pizza. However, this specific location(Ming and Ashe)has let us down yet again. We ordered for pick up, when we got home we noticed our order of wedges looked as if it was an order someone ate out of and didn't finish!!!.. above that they only gave us HALF our order of wings! Pizza when I was little was something special, I guess you could say it tended to be a party food. My family was not huge on going out to eat pizza like alot of families do today, we mostly ate home cooked meals. The Tony's Pizza I first tried and still think is the best is the one on Cecil Avenue in Delano, CA which is their very first one if I am not mistaken. And of course this was long before their Chile Verde Pizzas and Firehouse theme pizza parlors. Now this Tony's hasn't been here that long because it was different pizza spots prior, but they can still crank out a good pizza here. I am a sucker for a Chile Verde Pizza and they are second in line to me behind another Delano spot who aAre the originators for the Chile Verde Pizza. What I like about this location is the plaza it resides in, well populated with other businesses such as Starbucks. And when you have a great location like this, it will pull customers in. What I noticed the first time stepping in this location was the cleanliness of the tables and floor. The previous pizza owner didn't have great upkeep so this is a very good sign of a good place to order and eat food from. To me those are the first indicators of whether I will order or just walk back out. I also wished they delivered because I know others do too. There are times that I really can't make the drive to pick up the pizza and would love to order here but since they don't deliver it drives me away to their competitors. That alone is why my review is rated 3 stars, their pizza can be delicious but they are other factors that play into my opinion on a business, especially with pizza places, they should deliver. I will continue to come back to Tony's but sadly only when it is convenient enough for me to make the trip out, their pizzas are one of the better ones in Bakersfield and that says quite a bit since Bakersfield has so many places now. This is personally my favorite pizza in Bakersfield. We prefer it over Magoo's and Rusty's. Magoo's crust and dough tends to be a bit thicker whereas Rusty's is thinner. I usually order the veggie pizza which had tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, olives and mushrooms. All the toppings are always fresh and the pizza is made while you wait. Usually the wait is about 15 minutes for a pizza. You do have to pay for drink refills as the staff controls the drink machines. For sides, there are buffalo wings of course. The dining area is clean. In the back, there is a small partitioned area for private parties as well as arcade games on the side. There is also a small salad bar. There are two TVs with different sports channels usually running. Decor centers around firefighter paraphernalia. Seating consists of multiple booths on the periphery with several long tables in the center of the room. If you call ahead to pick up, your pizza should be ready for you in 15-20 minutes. read more

As you can see from my pictures, the chicken strips and potato wedges look and tasted awesome, and even more amazing was the pizza!! This review is solely on the customer service aspect of our experience because hands down, Tonys pizza never fails to deliver when it comes to quality. I called to phone in an order for pick up and was placed on hold, waited a fair amount of time, 10 mins and decided to call back. Sammy picked up and took my order, I explained to her that I was still on hold on the other line and she simply said, " oh well we are busy." I totally understand being busy and don't mind being placed on hold, I was just really caught off guard for her total lack of regard that its really not a good experience to accidentally forget about customers waiting to place an order and spend our money with you guys. I Was honestly just expecting an apology and acknowledgement that accidents happen, but rather got a cold response. I am visiting on a short term job assignment and have visited Tony's a few times. Most impressed with the counter help. Knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, helpful, cheerful; all that you want in customer service. I've had both the Chile Verde and Combo pizza's. Both good. also, pizza sticks and rib-tips, also good. Since I am not from California, there was a small amount of sticker shock. Otherwise though, all good. Suggestion for on-line ordering. Have a way to make a note, such as "no onions", etc. Also, there is absolutely no mention how long to wait for pizza or when to pick it up. Suggest having a clock when you order, such as time of pick-up, so I can order 3 hours in advance. This way Tony's would see the flow of pizza orders in advance instead of like, an hour before the super bowl suddenly 40 orders come in. I am in the midst of ordering now for pizza for pickup in 3 hours, and now I have to wait and go back on-line and order while I am running errands. Not as convenient as it could be. read more
