Their produce is also very reasonably priced, and of course as fresh as you can possibly get. They also offer a selection of pork products which they offer frozen, I believe. My party of three visited this indoor food market where there were many options of pies, nuts, candy, pastries, baked goods, bread, pretzels, Amish quilts, but disappointedly I did not see any Amish wicker storage baskets. My desiderium was to purchase one large storage wicker basket with inner cloth lining, but to no avail as I am characteristically organized in both my living and workplace space environment. Or, purchase one large raffia storage box with lid. I also wanted the classic chocolate chip (no nuts) cookies, but to no avail. Surprising Bird-in-Hand Farmers Market is open and operational on July 4th, 2026 holiday. Customer service is mediocre. There is a large souvenir gift shop in the lower level via schlepping one flight of stairs. It is not ADA accessible. There is no stair climber available either. Ergo, for the mobility challenged take caution and there is very low headroom in the stairwell. My party of three has always patronized to support local souvenir gift shops as tourists - past and present. Personally, I believe in patronizing brick and mortar local souvenir gift shops drives the local economic tourism. We are non-Pennsylvanians. The souvenir T-shirts are hugely extortionate priced at $19.99. This gift shop reminisce nostalgia of Hallmark stores for mugs, decorative pens, bookmarks, post cards, magnets, pins, printed recipe books, small journals, wall calendar year 2027, et al. The costume jewelry was also hugely extortionate priced $19.99. I freely walked the aisles to browse and circled back. There many home decor items of rural country flair. I purchased one post card of Amish horse buggy with a farm field $0.50, one Pennsylvania shape magnet $1.99, and one lighthouse shape coaster $2.99. I have a small collection of post cards from travels. I actually needed a coaster for my workplace desk as I am currently using a makeshift coaster of my own arts and craft creation. I love lighthouses for the long history, significance, contribution to navy and maritime industry, including aesthetic of nature scenic local landscape emitting a sense of peace. I did receive a sales receipt printed from a very dated cash register.

There's hot & cold prepared Amish foods and continental foods; butcher; dairy store; green grocer; bulk dried & jarred goods; and arts & crafts--all in one place. Here's my favorites: Smucker's Pretzels: Original pretzels and smokey cheezers (pigs-in-a-blanket). Made fresh throughout the day. Stoltzbus BBQ: Fried chicken, smoked ribs, and beef stew. Esh's Produce: Any fruit or vegetable from here is excellent. A & R Bakery: The cheesecake offerings are impressive; there's individual slices, half and whole cheesecakes. There's literally a wall of all types of cakes and pies, along with multiple shelves filled with cookies, donuts, breads, baked treats. There's plenty of free parking and public restrooms. Near closing time, local folks come pouring in here to get dinner and it becomes animated. Open 3 days a week; only operates during daytime hours. Vendors begin to put things away about 30 minutes ahead of end of business. Don't miss out by showing up at the last minute.

Dozens -- no, hundreds -- of vendors, Amish and others, selling an astonishing variety of foods and gifts of all descriptions. Sorry to be so wordy and vague, but there is so much to Roots. First off, it's open only on Tuesdays, so plan ahead. And get there early; the parking spots -- there are a lot of them -- really fill up. When we arrived at 10:30am, we circled and circled before finding a spot. Secondly, it can get very crowded, and in summer very hot. Dress accordingly. And please note that many of the vendors accept cash only. There are ATM machines scattered around the area, however. The market has indoor and outdoor vendor stands. We loved the delightfully huge food offerings (indoors). Everything fresh. All kinds of meats (loved those sausages). Every kind of fruit and vegetable you could want. lots of Amish vendors, but plenty of others. too. And wow, the selection of foods, clothing items (we bought beautiful, hand-cut belts), antiques, and ...well, we can go on and on. We spent hours here and came away exhausted and VERY happy. And we found ourselves wondering why can't we have a farmers market just half this size with a fraction of the goods for sale somewhere nearer us in New England? Honestly, we could go on for pages about this. We had a wonderful time and recommend a stop here. (And we were told there are several other really outstanding markets in the area). All the other positive Yelps you read about this place are right on. We're fortunate to have visited and are eager to return -- just wish it was closer.

I came specifically to shop in the Main building, area 3, for Tropical Forest Shea Butter Soaps as a birthday gift. I learned about Tropical Forest at the 2025 PA Christmas + Gift Show at the Harrisburg Farm Show Complex. Tropical Forest also has a stand at Green Dragon Farmer's Market. I am thankful this farmer's market has a website with a directory of most of the vendors and an office with people to answer questions. And free maps of the entire farmer's market. There is plenty of parking, a plethora of food places to take off or eat while there, a large number of restrooms, and great signage inside and outside of all the buildings. Worth noting, not all stands/vendors take cards; some only accept cash.

I am so thankful they did. They have a lady there named the pie lady. She made some of the most delicious pies I've ever had in my entire life. I will be ordering all of my pies from BG's Farm Market. They were delicious caramel apple pie, pecan pie and pumpkin pie, and they were better than any family member has ever cooked. They were so easy to serve. They were perfect. Plus I was able to get a last-minute few items like fresh sausage, fresh yams, fresh carrots, honey they have it all there. It was very easy to order and once I picked up my pies, I was able to get a list of the pies that she makes. It is a huge list, and I can't wait to try every single one of them. they're very close to the Plumpton Park Zoo. They have a great farmers market. Everything is very very clean organized and the cashier was very knowledgeable and helpful. They have some of the best eggnog the best chocolate milk. Everything was so good.
