Located in the Barceloneta neighborhood near Port Olimpic, this area boasts of a multitude of tapas restaurants with fresh, fresh seafood! Tapas places dot the whole stretch of Passeig Joan de Borbo, so venture towards town (away from the port) for cheaper prices but just as authentic cuisine. The 4 story hotel has clean and modern decor with an incredible rooftop lounge affording you 180 degree views of the port. The lobby was spacious with a bar/breakfast area to the right of the hotel entrance. The complimentary breakfast that came with our package was scrumptious! charcuterie, cheese, scrambled eggs, local bread and pastries were provided. The best part was the made to order cafe con leche. They use Illy espresso and the senora who made my cup everyday, did it with just a touch of milk which reminded me of the cappuccino that I get at my fave coffee shop in San Francisco. The rooms are big compared to the ones we've stayed in London and Paris. If you request a queen bed, they put 2 twin beds together. The only drawback to this great hotel is that the walls are VERY thin. The night before our flight out of Barcelona, we didn't sleep a wink because of the loud fiesta across the street and a crying baby next door. So, I guess I'm bringing ear plugs next time?!

The gym is basic, 1 treadmill, 1 bike, 1 elliptical and hand weights. The room was small but the bed was very comfortable, AC worked great and the room was very quiet/sound proof. I recommend getting a room with a balcony as it helps the rooms feel less cramped. The staff was very helpful and pleasant and the cleaning staff does a great job. The rooftop area had nice seating which we brought back some lunch and enjoyed the view. The pool is a plunge pool which was ok but didn't add much to the experience.

The internet didn't work for my entire floor . The light in our en-suite bathroom made this loud buzzing sound that kept us up at night . The basement / kitchen area has a strong odor . There was I believe even a racial incident with one of the day time staff who asked me if I was staying here ? And proceeded to question me further after I replied yes .. Also there were a few passive aggressive employees in general ( I.e- turning on music during odd hours 5am to get people to leave common areas ) . I can't recommend staying here unfortunately.

It's also an easy, scenic stroll into town for exploring, shopping, dining, and drinks. Whether you're looking to relax or wander, it's the perfect base. My room was fantastic--super clean, with a private balcony and an unforgettable view. Housekeeping was excellent. The A/C wasn't icy cold, but it was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. Service-wise, the front desk staff felt a bit reserved--not particularly warm or welcoming, which stood out in contrast to the rest of the experience. However, the bellhop was excellent--friendly, helpful, and full of good energy. One of the highlights of my stay was the buffet breakfast--plentiful, fresh, and served in a beautiful open-air space overlooking the sea. Starting the day with that view was a true treat. All in all, Gran Hotel Reymar combines old-school charm, unbeatable views, and top-notch cleanliness--a rare find. I absolutely loved my stay and would happily return. Note: I did not use the spa. It was 4 pm and I was still waiting in the lobby. Full cloths, no water offered, no rope...not a professional place at all! 4:06pm I go in, take my cloths out, get in bed and the therapist started the massage until 4:16pm I thought ... if She started late, she will finish late. BUT NO!!! I was supposed to get 55 min of therapeutic massage, this was not the case, service that was rushed and not complete. And I explain this to the receptionist, showed her that I was back in the reception all dress up again at 4:58pm... She says "you can come back later for extra 10 mins, or you can get the 25% discount" I did not wanted to argue do I accepted the 25% off. The day I check out they only took 5 euros off for almost 20 mins of a massage I did not get. Thankfully the manager Ma. Carmen after I explain the situation was nice enough to honor the 25% discount. I was very disappointed from the girls that work in the spa. They should hire responsible staff, not young girls that don't respect customer's time, and show up late to work. Thank you Mrs. Ma Carmen for your professionalism!

Th hotel does serve breakfast but we didn't eat any because you can grab a little bite for much cheaper from the corner cafes. The beds on the hotel are okay and they're small but that's pretty standard for European hotels. The bathroom was very tiny and it had a toilet and a bidet. They provided you with some lotion, shower cap and shampoo. For the Americans traveling, reme6to being wash cloths because European hotels do not provide them.

They don't have restaurant, so u always have to dine outside. They have a self service mini bar in the lobby with drinks, coffee, cold sandwich and noodles bowl option. They have a microwave to warm frozen stuffs. They serve breakfast only, that is 11 euro, u have to tell front desk day before so that u get the 11 euro price else it's little expensive. Their breakfast was good but with that value you will find good breakfast in the neighbourhood. There are lots of cafes and restaurants Around. Metro is about 7 mins walk from the hotel. Pretty decent place to stay.
