There are also cash tills all over the store, so if one queue is super long, just head to another level and find one that isn't. The customer service here is either really great or good. But I've never experienced anyone who didn't care about me or was rude. There are no toilets, but the Starbucks across the way might let you use theirs. Some hidden seating for The Spouse... but best to go alone or have them meet you towards the end of your shop. I tend to get carried away with all the cheap and discount deals and could be there for hours!

The market has a 700 year old tradition for fine quality, and I would recommend the Red Leicester cheeses, the Melton Mowbray pies (I am told are wonderful) and all the fruit and veg seems fresh and is sold off cheaply at the end of the day. For football fans go to Gary Linekers Dad. Not the name of the stall, but Gary Linekers family have run a fruit and vegetable stall here for a fair few years. Aptly called 'Linekers Fruit and Veg stall', come here to buy fresh products and also to pay your respects to Gary's daddy. A few bric a brac stalls have now crept in..you may find that wonderful find but I doubt it. Some wonderful fabric stalls selling really well priced furnishing and clothing fabrics..often as cheap as wholesale. With over 300 stalls, everyday the market offers a variety of fresh produce and bargains.

The small team of staff really give you one to one attention and honest helpful advice and they 'listen' rather than just trying to sell. They will also order you extra sizes or suggest good alternatives without being pushy. 2/ The prices - for me anyway - are a little high for everyday wear. Besides women's clothing they also stock shoes and accessories - they have some beautiful handbags and some lovely little nick-nacks. Right at the back is a smaller room patritioned off that caters for evening and prom dresses only. This is the place to come if you want something a bit special or unusual - they stock local designers and hand made one-offs as well as the more well known brands. Also they do offer a very reasonable alteration service should you need it. Why only 4 stars? I find the sizes do come a little on the small side - so to avoid a strop possibly try one size higher than you normally would.
