I stumbled upon this place when I was coming from my usual spot in Gambrill's that was under new management. I came here sat about 15mins before Jenny could take me. And all I can say is a year later I'm still coming here to see Jenny. She sets her own schedule and knows what you want with little input. She made my nails look more realistic, not thick like before. I can't believe I was paying for that work. My friend and I had walked in one day. I got a pedicure and my friend got acrylics. They took us in even though we were a walk in and they were closing in a couple hours. I stopped in Top Nails in Piney Orchard, Odenton on 8/29/23 and was greeted by the owner, Monica who was respectful and professional. She gave me a price of what my serivices would cost and left the office. I had a lovely pedicure by an employee and was referred to a man who would not tell me his name, he was the younger of the two men in the shop. When I was getting my nails done, I asked if the shop offered a Veterans Discount. This man/employee looked at me and rolled his eyes and said "I don't know." When I asked if he could call the owner who had just walked out, probably was sitting in her car/parking lot, he stated no, and he would not give her a quick call. This man went on and stated was going to charge me $20 more than was quoted to me by the owner. I said OK, he then looked me up and down stated he had been there 18 years and did not know if there was a vet discount. He said "you look like you're rich (while he was looking at my earrings and ring that I had on my hand) why do you need a discount?" Even a Vet d/c? I explained to this man/boy that the reason he is in this country/ Monica told me they she was from China, this man/boy said he was from Viet Nam. I calmly explained to him that he was in this country free and working in a private business due to people like myself that went to war to fight for our freedom. I asked him to give Monica a quick call to see if there was a vet discount and was told NO. Once again, rolled his eyes shaking his head muttering about a discount, mumbling about US Vets, etc. At that point another woman came up to us and stated that he was not to charge $20 more, Monica had given me the price to pay. He threw his hands up in apparent despair muttering again. I thought his behavior was disrespectful and rude. The following day/Wednesday I stopped back in the shop to speak to Monica re his unprofessional behavior and was told she was not in. I left my name and number, and Monica called me shortly afterwards and I began to explain my less than positive experience when I was cut off 3x by her. After the 3rd time I stated I see you do not want to talk with me, I will put my experience on YELP and disconnected the phone. After that statement, Monic called me 3 more times, leaving a voice mail that I hung up on her and and was the rude one, and my issue would not be resolved. unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. Upon completion I expressed to the owner that I was not happy with my nails and explained that the male tech did not do it correctly. Her resolve was to place oil on my cuticles. One week later I have two nails that have fallen off. I went back to the shop to explain to another tech what was going on and her response was "we can't help you, we have other customers". I have home to three different salons in the past two months and my nails keep breaking and peeling . Solar is the best because they last at least three weeks . Most places I've been to have had me wait at least 20 or 30 minutes before I can even go sit down in the chair (I typically go on weekends), and they're typically pretty impersonal. Went there on a Sunday morning. I didn't have to wait. I got a basic manicure and an eye bow wax. Total cost $22.00. Not a bad price. Nick did my nails. He did a great job and ensured that I waited long enough so they completely dried. A younger girl did my eyes. She did a wonderful job. Nothing really outstanding about the appearance or service. It was your basic nail salon. However, there techs speak wonderful English which was refreshing. Only thing to be aware of is that they do not have a tip spot on your debit receipt. My first and only visit to this salon was on 3/30. I received a pedicure and gel manicure. The service was great, the technician was very engaging! I thought I had found a new gem but my GEL manicure barely lasted a week. The edges began lifting so badly that the entire polish peeled off in one in-tact piece on every finger nail. Gel manicures always last me until they grow out (3+ weeks) and need to be soaked off. I'm so disappointed because I really enjoyed the service but I definitely won't be returning. read more

I went with my 8 year old daughter. My attendant did excellent work. There were some small issues with my daughter's nails, but the guy who worked that did address them. When I pointed out that the nail designs that I got on my big toes were significantly different from the one I selected and not to my liking he opted not to fix that and didn't charge for it. I don't care if I need a fill in or not and all places are booked or busy. I went in and I picked a color, first they have a poor nail color options for being a nail salon. After I picked my color I went to the guy to get my nails done. He asked the shape and I said coffin. The first picture is his version of coffin. He didn't make the thumb as I wanted so I told him nicely to make it sharp again like the other nails. He then packed up his stuff and said I was too picky. The lady tried telling me that the guy was the best one there when he couldn't even get the shape of my nail correctly. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. Never again! I've been going to Danny for several years. My mom comes from Denton (over an hour away) to go to Danny. My sister who lives in Glen Burnie and daughter in Perryhall also go to Danny. He does the best pink and white I've ever had and a great pedicure. The shop is clean and well maintained. I've seen ppl walk in and expect everyone to stop what they are doing to help them but if they are with customers you have to wait. I suggest calling for an appt and sticking with who you like. read more

Was a longtime customer of Top Nails until 4/6/2014. Went there for a pedicure and eyebrow wax after church. Nail technician Lynn got pink nail polish on my brand new Coach brand purse valued at 398.00. When I told her about it, she accused me of putting the polish on the bag myself! She got the polish on the purse when she picked it up to move me to the room to wax my brows I asked to speak to the owner, who also accused me of lying and said my purse was a fake! Guess that is what She is used to--knockoff purses, but mine is real. She only offered me $5.00 off my bill, which was $40.00 and said that in 14 years (which is how long I have known her), no one in her shop had ever damaged anything! And suddenly, the nail tech could not speak or understand English! Disappointing behavior to say the least... I refused to pay anything as my purse is now ruined! read more

Got a shellac french mani and a regular pedicure. Shellac is expensive, next time I'll just ask for the french shellac polish w/out the manicure. I ended up spending about 70. Went in to have acrylics removed (not put on by top nails). The price was $10. There was nail glue left on the nails and then the nail tech started doing something else to the nails. Didn't know what was going on, thought she was removing the glue. Went to pay and it was $25. Turns out got a manicure along with acrylic removal without being asked. Cuticles were cut and left bleeding. Called and spoke to the manager. She asked to see the nails. Went in, nail tech said the bleeding cuticles was from removing the acrylics. Having had acrylics removed before, I know that isn't true the cuticles weren't bleeding until they were cut. Was then accused of being a liar and said that a manicure was requested. The manager said the cuticles bleeding was no big deal because they had never had an infection. I told her I knew that wasn't true because I read the yelp reviews and one mentioned a nail infection. The manager eventually voided the payment because she didn't want us arguing in front of other customers. Bad product, worse customer service. Will tell everyone where NOT to go! read more
