There's a few things Pivotal Fitness does well, but also some things it needs to improve on. This…read morewas a great gym to drop into as a hotel guest at a place that offers free access, but I'm not sure I would join this gym unless it was really, really cheap. Here's why: 1) Equipment: pretty good selection actually. Lots of free weight options, including barbells, a squat rack, benches, a deadlift area with bumper plates, dumbbells up to 100lbs; plus many machines, including cable machines, and quite a few cardio options. The high point of this gym is definitely the variety of training options. 2) Ambiance: needs work. The whole gym is dark and a bit dingy; the bathrooms are filthy (well, at least the men's was), there's water and who knows what else on the floor and many lockers were broken; equipment is in general disarray, and some machines don't function exactly right. All in all, this gym needs a tune-up! 3) Convenience: 24 hours, close to many downtown hotels, some parking out front. All in all, an ok gym, but definitely needs some TLC!

This gym is pretty gross. Despite that, it's busy. A lot of hotels send their patrons here. Every…read morepiece of equipment has rust and/or paint peeling. Floors are discolored. Wall mirrors are cracked. Machines feel dirty and gross. I didn't see most people wiping down after using. There wasn't a water fountain. No towel service. They don't even care if you scan or not to enter. The locker room is probably the cleanest area and supringsly large.

I love the variety of classes that target different muscle groups and improve stability. SCULPT is great for flexibility, core muscle toning, and strength building. TRAMP(oline) builds your quads, supporting muscles around ankles, butt, etc to improve your cardio, stability, and agility for the one-legged jumps. STEP is always excellent for building leg muscles and improving cardio. DANCE is a way to improve your cardio and agility all while having fun learning dance routines. The staff is AMAZING! Shout out to Kaitlin, Ryerson and Remy! Y'all create an inviting community and challenging workout space to make you want to go back again and again. Jane DO also has a community walking group, classes for bachelorette and birthday parties, sauna and recovery leg compression. Sad to move away but looking forward to hopefully a future expansion or I'll tune in on their online options.

I usually frequent the West Ashley location, but it is only a few months old so it's not yet on Yelp. Emily Valentine teaches core vinyasa on Sundays, and it is always a great time! She has an amazing playlist and is always motivating and supportive. I always leave feeling like I really worked out my whole body and I am ALWAYS sore the next few days, but it's a good feeling because I know I worked hard in Emily's class! I also highly recommend their assisted deep stretch class. It's very relaxing and it feels so good to stretch and take your mind off of everything going on. The studio spaces are always clean and well taken care of. There's only been a couple times where a class was really crowded, but we always make it work!

This is the noisiest yoga studio that could possibly exist. Why? Why do you do this to guests?…read more We entered the lobby to cocktail-party level chitchat, which didn't seem to phase anyone but my friend and me. Nice Staff showed us to lockers. All that could have been ok if the class had been ... enjoyable enough to do. Why did the teacher have a headpiece for screaming instructions, when there is no way the room wouldn't be covered just fine by her voice. I tried for about fifteen minutes, trying to follow her sometimes muted screaming by looking around me. I gave up and went to the front desk where they kindly said this was normal and offered me a cup of earplugs to pick from. I took them and used them for about three minutes when I gave up. The place purposefully makes it so loud that they have odes of earplugs in a cute little jar on the counter. That's just messed up. I usually do vinyasa flow, my friend does Bikram and neither of us really knew what this class was. Worst $30 one a class pass ever.
