Dwell isn't a high-end furniture store, but it's not competing with Fantastic Furniture either. It's a comfortable mid-range sort of store that is on par with the likes of Freedom (perhaps a little lower) in terms of price, but the stock is available in MUCH smaller numbers. If you want something for your home that isn't from the usual suspects like Freedom, Ikea, Plush, etc. without paying a fortune, Dwell is a great place to start. Oh, and should you see something you like but isn't quite right, make sure you let the staff know. They have catalogues full of things that can be ordered just for you.

My experience was disappointing though in customer service from the owner. I wanted to redo my home office, and was ready to purchase a few pieces of furniture. I went in a couple of times, and even dropped off wall paper samples to help me match fabrics. I was so very disappointed that the owner never got in touch with me about the samples and helping me to finalise my choices. The staff were great - fantastic actually. They were so wonderful to me, but in the end I felt like the owner was too busy to spend time helping me. Feel sad, cause I was really looking forward to getting a couple of the pieces :)

After waiting three days without a response, I emailed again but received no reply. I decided to give it some time over the weekend and tried again the following week. Finally, someone provided the dimensions, and I went ahead with the purchase. However, after a week and a half without any shipping updates, I emailed for an update since I had already been charged. I received vague communication indicating that someone would follow up, but no one did. After another follow-up, I requested a refund if shipping details weren't forthcoming. I received a refund shortly after, but again, with no further communication from the company. Overall, my experience with Third Drawer Down has been extremely disappointing. The lack of customer service and communication throughout the process has left me feeling frustrated. I do not recommend this company--it's best to steer clear.

This year I had the pleasure of joining the Dedece team in Milan - best experience ever. Minotti possibly the standout with three full floors showcasing their best furniture for 2024, it was HUGE. We also spent a good deal of time with Paola Lenti - their new range also blew me away. Colour is amazing. But the best part of the trip was spending time with all involved , meeting Anna Lenti, the Minotti family, etc. celebrating with them and appreciating all the hard work that goes before this years' presentation. There are testers available and I'd recommend giving them a go - they smell sooooo nice! The store is decorated better than many houses I have been too and I love dropping in for a visit. There are plush victorian armchairs with cosy throws draped over the back. These sit next to a cute single bed with an elegant bed cover and hand embroidered cushions. There are lamps and photo frames and candles too. Everything fits and it is hard to not want to take it all home. There was also a really good section of plush toys but my favourite section was the one with the Christmas decorations. Despite being out far too early... it's only October... the decorations were not only beautiful but unique. The staff here are friendly and not at all pushy. They also have a rewards card and you get a free gift after spending just $80. It's an awesome place to pick up a nice gift.

After about five minutes though, the store's name would forever be etched in my memory bank because apart from the low quality that was obviously visible in the sofas on the floor, the salesman kept following me around the store. At first I thought it was because he really needed to tell me in-depth information about the features and availability but even after I asked for some time to wander around myself, he persisted on following me around. And as I made my exit, I wondered to myself if perhaps he thought I was going to try and shoplift a sofa and hide it in my little bag. Perhaps theft has happened before and so they are extra careful but I really didn't appreciate being treated that way and his manner really did push me out the door - faster than I could have said goodbye! The woman working there explained that the factory would make up one in the style and fabrics that we wanted. We liked the style of their sofas; they were almost exactly what we wanted as far as size, shape and style. We put it down on our list as a possible option however in the end we found a sofa at another shop along Church Street that was perfect and at a better price.
