I went with Bryan for my third tattoo and I am so satisfied with my tattoo. Although I do recommend descriptively adding every detail you want for your tattoo when you're emailing your artist because it does delay your starting time, mainly so they can edit your piece. The shop itself has a friendly vibe, cool music, and you're helped rather quickly. The artist are pretty lenient with letting a guest sit in the room with you so that was cool, I needed the support. The work in general from Ryan was great he was really reassuring, making sure everything was going well with the tattoo and myself. I'll definitely be back for future tattoos. read more

AWESOME! Topnotch tattoo right in the middle of Elgin - what a find! Friendly, professional and seriously clean. I got my nose re-pierced here after I let my original piercing (done at another shop) heal up. The best experience I've ever had! My friend and I went here because another friend got hers done by Andrew (who no longer works there) and loved them. Bryan charged my friend 150 bucks for two small black tattoos which turned out nice. I asked about two quarter size tattoos for myself, and he said he would charge 150 for both or 120 for the small snowflake I wanted. I asked why it would be so expensive and he said "Because I do what I want". He was rude and belligerent. Based on the customer service I will never go back nor would I recommend it to anyone. I stopped at Funky Rooster tattoos around the corner and they were SO accommodating and helpful. Though they didn't have time that day, I will be booking an appointment to get my tattoos done with them. read more

My mom went in to see if she could find a simple black pair of earrings. She went in around 1 pm two days ago, was told she couldn't be helped as the person in charge comes in at 3. That's totally fine. She went back today, Johnny told her that the person in charge will be there soon. We stopped in for two piercings, nose and an industrial. My daughter's nose had been pierced before and we weren't sure if going over the little bump was a good idea, Johnny made her feel very comfortable and was confident it was fine. It's only been a few hours and it already looks great. She has wanted an industrial for a couple of years, but after talking it through because of the anatomy of her ears it probably isn't a good idea. Johnny did an amazing job showing her some alternate options and custom things he could do for her..now she just has to decide. Went here for a dermal anchor removal. No charge -- which I don't think is all that uncommon -- but still cool to offer that complimentary service (I still tipped, as you always should!). Anyways, it was a clean place and I was greeted kindly. A piercer named Sarah did the removal and she was awesome. I told her right off the bat I'm a big baby with a low pain tolerance- she kept me totally calm and talked to me the whole time. Incredibly friendly and likable. I also had a friend with me who was asking about some other piercings and Sarah was very knowledgable and happily answered all of her questions. After posting a horrible review for Infamous Ink Studio in Chicago, it is only right to give props to this shop. I'll start by saying that you must be patient and wait for your appointment and spend a little more money because GREAT work that is permanent on your body is not cheap and you get what you pay for. With that said, Nate is the effin man!!!! He added to a piece I had already and made it look AWESOME!! If my schedule wasn't so complicated he would be doing more. Get in line people!! I have an appointment with Beto which has awesome work and will be doing and fixing a piece infamous screwed up. My wife got a piece done by Bryan which has great work also. I've had two piercings done by Chux and my first tattoo done by Nate. All are AWESOME. First off, I had a dermal piercing done, which is not the easiest piercing. I have had two tattoos done here. One by Tony Uno and the other by Erik Thvedt. Both artists are incredibly talented.and professional. The shop is super clean and neat. This is probably my favorite shop I have ever been to. I am planning on only letting Top Notch artists (probably just Erik - who did my half sleeve) tattoo me from now on. My friend got her septum pierced by Johnny. I have never seen someone in so much pain. Before I even begin he was very bad mannered. I have watched several septum piercings done and none of them were quite like this. He man handled her nose. Took out the needle and THEN put in the piercing. Completely and utterly wrong. Dropped the balls to the septum at least three times. Would NOT recommend Johnny at all. If I could give zero stars to the piercing part of this place I would. read more
