We needed a break from all the pasta and pizza we've been eating on our trip looked up reviews for Japanese food and Tora sushi came highly recommended. We had a great experience and loved the food. Started with some edamame then chicken and shrimp gyoza fried rice and veggie tempura. Everything was very good and the service was nice as well. Definitely recommend Tora! read more

We are from the Bay Area of California, so we are pretty spoiled with sushi. We were looking for a good sushi spot while in Rome, and Tora did not disappoint. The ramen was amazing, the sushi was on point, the atmosphere was elegant, and the wine selection was great. Donny and his team provided excellent service and were attentive to every detail. Needed a break from pasta and chose Tora. We loved it. We started with dumplings and edamame. The dumplings were delicious, crispy on the bottom. Nice fresh ingredients. Two from our table ordered 3 different sushi rolls and they were very happy with their choice. I ordered teriyaki chicken. Three smaller chicken breasts, a couple of pieces of zucchini and something I ate but wasn't sure what it was. The chicken was moist and flavorful. Very good choice. Another at our table had stir fried rice with shrimp and crispy vegetables. Again very good. Our server, Kamala, was excellent. She made us feel welcome and delivered our food promptly. She sat us at a lovely sidewalk table where we could people watch and enjoy the beautiful evening. Great experience. read more

We liked Tora okay on our first visit last year, but the second visit this year reiterated the same experience as last. Service is incredibly slow - by even Italian/European standards. I had to listen to another guest cry about waiting for 30 minutes to place an order. The food is okay but very overpriced for what it is. Do not order the pistachio roll. You will be intrigued. You will think - hmm, pistachio and raw fish? How could the Japanese overlook such a flavor combination? They did not. They know better. The green curry was okay, but came with four spoonfuls of rice. The second bowl of rice took an hour to deliver to the table. Save the sushi for another time (and city), even as much as you may need that break from Italian food, and try something else well worth the money. read more

On our third day in Italy, we needed to find some Asian food lol just needed something light since we ate very heavy the first couple of days. Very grateful to have found this lovely sushi place that was so fresh, great ambience, and great location. I love sushi and sashimi but my husband isn't big on sushi. There were plenty of other options for him to choose from so he ordered the ramen. I was able to order my sashimi over rice and toro maki. We also got an order of squid and lots of saki! It was a lovely dinner and would come again! Our waitress was awesome! We got a chance to get to know her and quickly connect as she was very outgoing and also helped us choose what to order. She made us feel at home when we visited. Definitely would recommend coming here if you're looking for a nice sushi spot! read more

This place hits home (Las Vegas) and is one of the best sushi spots in Rome. We needed a short break from pasta and this place pulled through. There were different varieties of food to choose from. The experience was amazing thanks to our friendly server, Donny. Donny provided us with excellent customer service and was accommodating to our needs. The food tasted so good and the nigiri and maki rolls has the perfect amount of rice and fish. To say that this place is amazing is an understatement. From the staff to the food everything was perfect! Staff - a special shoutout to Max, Kate, Donny & Camila. They were absolutely amazing! My husband & I came to Italy for our honeymoon & no place made us feel as welcomed as Tora. When they found out we just got married they did everything in their power to celebrate us & make us feel special. We felt at home from the moment we walked in. Not to mention that the ambiance is perfect for a relaxing meal with soft, low music playing in the background. Food - the food was incredible. Like a lot of people, my husband & I were tired of eating pasta & pizza after 5 days in Italy, so we decided to switch it up a bit & we liked it so much that we came back the next day to celebrate our last day in Italy! You MUST try the rice gelato with mango topping!!! It was to die for. I am not a fan of tuna whatsoever but after much recommendation from staff (& my husband who would not stop raving about it) I tried the blue fin tuna sashimi & fell in love! It had a subtle taste & just melted in your mouth. All in all, we cannot recommend Tora enough. Their service was like nothing we experienced before & their food was just the cherry on top.
