In the mood for some sushi last night while passing through, we decided to give Tora a try. We placed an order to-go for 2 rolls (vegetable tempura roll and an avocado roll) and nigiri. The food was prepped fast with cordial service. But we were disappointed once we pulled over down the road to enjoy our dinner. We found the rolls to be quite small, and they weren't put together well...pretty sloppy. My biggest bummer though was that I ordered unagi sauce...and my husband asked again when handed the bag to be sure my sauce was inside, and it sadly was not. Stopped in for lunch yesterday just as they were about to close at 2PM, but they were fine with serving us regardless. Great customer service. Very spacious interior and seating, would be a great place for large groups. Nice menu with many cooked dishes along with a wide selection of specialty rolls. We ordered a California bowl for our 5 year old grandson which he really liked. The picture below was just our first phase. I ordered several nigiri which were all excellent, but I really liked their barbecued eel. Service was very fast, though we were the only customers in the place at 2PM. Everything was excellent. All of us walked away really happy - we would return in a heartbeat. The only thing I would change is a lot of their rolls were kind of creamy, which I am not fond of, but that is a matter of personal taste. Tora Tora! read more

Clean and inviting entry-feeling. Air is fresh. There appears to be a bar where the sushi master/host does their magic. Gluten free menu is a stroke of genius imho. Tasty Sushi that hits the spot. The value here I think is their combo lunch/dinner meals. Which should provide you plenty of food after you're done. I had the chicken katsu meal, with some sashimi on the side. For a location near the coast, I thought that the pricing was fair. Portions were plenty. The ambiance is a little sleepy, but that's also because Tillamook is a smaller town. If you're visiting from Portland and want some good comfort food to grab, this could be a great stop! read more

Portions here are big. They have a lot of options to choose from too. We ordered some sushi rolls and a dinner combination platter. The sushi rolls were pretty good, a little saucy to my liking but was good. California roll is a classic. For the combination platter got teriyaki salmon and chicken cutlet. The salmon was delicious and chicken cutlet was moist. We were expecting only one salmon filet and one chicken cutlet but with this order they gave two. For $20.95 (well $21.95 since Salmon is $1 extra), it is most definitely worth it. It also came with a salad and miso soup. read more

Their happy hour is a pretty good deal! I would definitely recommend coming here during that time. The sushi was yummy and their rolls were pretty big. They are social distancing tables and all servers/cooks are wearing masks. Would definitely come back again for the happy hour if I was in the area. read more

Second time to this place for happy hour since moving to the area. They have a great selection of items on the happy hour menu and prices are decent for what you get. We had a cucumber salad which isn't on the happy hour menu but I wanted to try it. Decent portion and tasty but I'm used to having shrimp in them and this didn't have it. This was the second time we had the calamari and certainly not the last. Lightly breaded with I believe panko and served with a citrus soy. What a refreshing twist from the norm! We also had the green mussels, too sweet for me but if you like sweet they were a decent portion. We also had the Crunchy Roll minus the fake crab and sweet sauce and the Doug & Kathy Roll. Both large and delicious. They have a very extensive menu and we will be back to eat our way through it. Place is clean and inviting and bar had TV on Sunday night football for us! read more

This is a good restaurant! It's probably the best in Tillamook. The service was excellent. All of the many dishes my party had were very good. The one exception was the California roll. It was mushy. We expected a firmer texture. Perhaps it was the mayonnaise? How did the server respond? Superbly. He didn't charge us for it. I highly recommend Tora Sushi Lounge! read more

The second they answer your call the customer service is better than service, it's genuine kindness and understanding. After craving sushi for weeks I ordered two that looked allergy friendly for me but I was mistaken. Luckily for me, I mentioned what I was trying to accommodate and they understood. I ordered the Heavenly and the Alaskan both with accommodations without tempura and they notified me of possible problems so I could choose the $2 charge for real crab as a substitute. They were ready rather fast and the restaurant was packed (allowed with local covid level). They still allowed for curbside convenience came with two sauces, wasabi and ginger. While staying in Tillamook during a road trip with up the Oregon coast, my husband and I decided to grab some sushi and Tora was a great choice. The fish was really fresh. My husband had the sashimi and said it was like butter! I had a roll with tempura asparagus on the inside and albacore on the outside. We also had an appetizer of shishito peppers with spicy tuna, crab then tempura fried. Some of the best sushi I've had! The food was great, service was great and we also found a new sake that we loved! The dining room was open and well spaced out to where I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Upon arriving in Tillamook for the first time, I have to say that it feels like a town with a lot of potential but very unrealized potential. It's a nice waypoint for those who love dairy but not a place I'd stay again. So it was very surprising to find such a good sushi restaurant here. For $60 we had a nice dinner and a drink each. The nigiri sushi was good (not like grocery store good, but actually good). Authentic - no. Perfect - not quite. But the best dinner choice in town - almost certainly. read more
