This guy in his none work attire, not only ID'd me twice but three time in a row and I only got two drinks. He seemed to be more concerned with his phone then his job. I freakin love this place!! I have been a huge fan of torchys for a few years now. They have amazing green chili queso and an awesome variety of tacos. I must say my favs are green chili pork and the trailer park! They also have a new taco on special which is always a unique option. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. Of the two occasions I've ordered lil nookies to go, the order seems to fall off the face of the earth and it takes 30min to fry 3 balls of dough. It's not until I get up to ask that it turns out it'll be ready in less than 5min. I should've just waited out a line at another place, and I can take my taco business somewhere else too read more

Just ordered online here and my first time getting something from here. Ordered their taco of the month which cost 5.50. First of all it says that it would have bacon and feta cheese in it...None of which I tasted. Second, if I am going to pay 5.50 for a taco, I expect it to be larger than your average taco. It was the size of your typical taco from Taco Bell and there was nothing special about it for it to cost 5.50. Third, I ordered the cheese quesadilla and the beef quesadilla. ..for my kids...age 7 and 11. These only came with two triangles. ..basically a taco split in 2 and yet they cost around 2.00...These were snacks not what you would expect to get for a total of 16.00....I will not be coming here again...There are authentic great tasting tacos in Austin that are bigger and are a bang for your buck. ... read more

The tacos are okay, however the prices are absurd. If you like paying $4 for a taco that should cost $1, this is your place. $4 gets you a taco that's 1.5" in diameter and 4" long. Everyone I know that eats here is from California or the north. That is only reinforced by the people in line who probably couldn't even tell you what "hola" means. Our company buys lunch for everyone in the office once per week. We've tried countless restaurants. Torchy's is the first place we've ever banned after everyone left hungry. Enjoy the hype. Creativity wise these are the best tacos I've ever had in my entire life. Words really do not do this place justice. They serve a mixture of veggie and meaty tacos, so both sides of the coin could be satisfied by coming here. One of the amazing tacos they serve here is called The Independent which is a mushroom lovers dream with portobello mushroom strips served also with black beans, corn, carrots, etc. It's my favorite here, and it's sooo good. They also serve a revamped breakfast styled taco called the Dirty Sanchez that has eggs and potatoes in it along with some other goodies in it and it tastes amazing... regardless of the odd name it has received. Crossroads is a mean briscuit taco that you have to try out once. Then there's every Muslim's worst nightmare of a taco, the Green Chile Pork Taco which is stuffed to the rim with pork with a lime on top and tastes pretty good and the meat very fresh to the taste. I do, however, feel like they do put in too much meat in this contraption of theirs, but hey if you're a meat lover then more for you right? The service here is very friendly. This is in my opinion the best Mexican food you can get in town. Will be coming here a lot. read more

Solid Torchy's business --- but now on Burnet! This place has only been open for 12 days (yes) so I will forgive them for not having a bike rack. What did this space used to be? Anybody know? It's very well decorated (best one in my opinion), and like most Torchy's, is small and has a quaint patio. You only have till Sunday HALLOWEEN, but treat yourself to the monthly special known as "The Scarecrow" ---- pumpkin breaded chicken, tons of veggies, sauce. Very good. I also recently got the "Mr. Pink" (sounds like Mr. Pussy -- bad-dah-cha), a new one for me. Seared marinated tuna and veggies, sauce --- MMMMMM. We had the worst experience today trying to order lunch online for our office. Even though we got confirmation emails & texts the order apparently never went through to the location. They had us submit it again online, to no avail (so now we're worried about being charged three times). The girl working the register was very rude to the person retrieving our food and took forever to take the order directly from her. Once the food finally made it to our office, the order on the ticket was right but tacos in the bag were wrong or missing! Dine in and hope for the best, but I strongly urge against group orders. read more

A big torchy fan. Even use the secret menu! Lol. But I gotta tell ya this place was a complete disappointment. Started with the cashier having an ICU voice instead of this is torchys we like the music a bit loud voice. Repeated every single part of the order no less the three times. The order still came out to us wrong. When I pointed this out to the table hop she acted like I was asking her for a plasma transfusion. When the wind came up and blew our 3/4 full basket of chips over and out into the street I was thinking no problem we've never been charged for chips. WRONG! A buck and change for a half full basket of chips. And not a smile from the staff. Not a single one. Next time we are going down the street to chilantro because the food is as good but the customer service is great!! The "torch" seems to be getting dim. Expensive Austinish Tacos. I love the brushfire tacos. What keeps me coming back every time is the brush fire taco. It's jerk chicken with mangos, sour cream, minced garlic and jalapeños with the seeds and cilantro plus I add diablo sauce. it's one of my favorite tacos but not my favorite place to go. Mainly because there is almost always a long line, they have the tiniest parking lots and they messed up my order more than a handful of times. I wasn't always a Torchy's fan, I think the tacos are over the top and as heavy as a brick. However, after a great shrimp taco, amazing guacamole and exceptional service, I think I'm a fan. I don't think I'll be ordering the Trailer Park - Trashy like my mom did, but I will be back for more. Great place to grab a filling dinner without breaking the bank. My goal, much like Pokemon, is to catch dinner at all Torchy locations, My daughter likes her trailer park trashy, but on this night, she went with a tried and true chips and queso.
