(From February 2025) It's Taco Tuesday and I want breakfast tacos. Realizing Torchy's serves those, I punched in an order on the app for a Potato, Egg, Cheese breakfast taco and a Migas taco. During my order, I also ordered a fresh avocado taco cause why not? You can never have enough tacos if you ask me. Pulling in to the parking lot, my order was ready and I navigated through the storm back to the hotel to dig in. Upon unwrapping the breakfast taco, it was warm with the cheese melted and satisfied my breakfast craving. Now for the migas, the tortillas almost fell apart, likely due to the pico de gallo and tomatillo salsa; I did enjoy the crunch that came with the tortilla strips tucked inside. The fresh avocado taco was meh, the avocado is fresh but that's all you taste. Could've used more seasoning and some more beans for a balanced taco. But nevertheless, it's hard to knock the taste of an ingredient like an avocado. If you've been to one Torchy's, you've been to them all. This is a fast casual type of restaurant. I ordered a Baja shrimp and the democrat which was with barbacoa meat. The shrimp taco was fantastic with perfectly crunchy, battered shrimp. Unfortunately, there was a large piece of fat in the barbacoa. read more

This place has a nice twist to tacos, they have all the basics that make you love tacos but then the ability to upgrade and add special flavors. The chips, salsa, queso, dips were all really good and pretty massive. I really enjoyed having a normal taco with new ideas and flavor pairings. read more

i go to torchy's all the time. allll the time. definitely have tried every item on the menu including seasonal temporary items at this point and i absolutely love the food here! highly recommend the brushfire, trailer park, chicken fajita, mr. orange, or honestly any of their tacos. the ambiance is always quite lively and inviting, especially at this college station location! service is good as well! only downsides are that the lines can get a touch long on move-in weeks or game weekends, and i do notice sometimes when asking for refills on chips and such the request can get forgotten now and then, but the place stays really busy so it's totally understandable. overall: 10/10! taste: 10/10 value: 10/10 torchy's has great value & taste and it's one of my favorite spots of all time for texas tacos. read more

I have to preface this review revealing I actually don't visit the Torchy's Tacos closest to my ranch. That would be Belterra Village west of Austin for the record. It has been terrible for years. But, a bunch of my friends were in CS for a car club event and someone suggested it. Me thinking ahead because we were on a tight schedule downloaded the mobile app and ordered 10 minutes before the doors opened. All others chose to order at the counter. AND, we were last to get our food lol. They had trouble unlocking the soda fountain too. Good news is (and I was a frequent visitor to the first Torchy's in ATX) the food was better than I've had in years. The beef in the Ranch Hand actually looked like meat instead of a burnt end. Migas taco ingredients were fresh including the fried tortilla strips. Got my buddy to add a little bit of Diablo sauce to his taco as he's a fan of Hot Ones on TV. He keeps the hottest sauce from the show at his house. I've yet to try it but I will. We left and headed over to Montgomery, Texas for lunch. About an hour from this Torchy's. I want to give it a zero but that's not possible so I give it a one. Our service was not pleasant the workers buttholes and were so confused that they were literally walking in circles. Our food was terrible the tortillas were cold and they didn't have ketchup LIKE HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE KETCHUP. We asked our waiter for some ranch and 30 minutes later we had to go get it our selves. Torchys was my go to in Colorado when I was feeling homesick...but after this visit to a location, in Texas, I'm wondering...why. Our first visit to this location was great but the second trip was pretty awful. It's safe to say it's inconsistent. We always sit at the bar because its frankly easier to put an order in. We grabbed a seat and then a group of about 3 sat next to us, incredibly loud and obnoxious. It was clear that the bartender was having a night. It was busy, loud, and orders kept rolling in. She grabbed our drink order pretty quick but then was swamped with other orders and essentially forgot about us. She definitely tried her best but as I shared, the group next to us was loud and kept trying to talk to her while she was doing her job. It was an odd dynamic given how busy they were since she should have been tending the whole bar, not just this group. By the time I got my drink...it was wrong. Fast forward & we finally put our order in. 2 tacos and a queso (free thanks to a birthday treat). Tacos came out after about 10 minutes but no queso in sight. She checks on us and realizes its missing so she offers to give us the queso for free...again? Weird. Anyway, our queso came out a good 20 minutes *after* we ordered and received our tacos, watery & without the usual guac, which was disappointing. My husband and I ordered 6 chicken fajita tacos for pick up. Once home, we opened the bag and this is the size of the tacos. The taco was not even the size of my hand and I wear small sized gloves. We paid $5.50 for each one. While the taste was good, the size was ridiculous. That's the size of a kids taco, not an adult, and for all 6 tacos to be this size is awful. C'mon Torchy's. I did try a new taco, I've always wanted to try the "Mr Orange" which is a salmon taco, and let me tell ya it was amazing! I ordered online two trashy trailer parks with no green chiles. My receipt says it as well. Previously that has been accommodated easily with no question. However, of course my order had green chiles. So I called for a refund and the manager told me it was "impossible to get a trailer park with no green chiles", and gave me no refund. Despite the online form literally giving you the ability to request none, and despite that I have been accommodated in the past. Top Line: At recommendation of counter dude who said 2 tacos would make a meal, I ordered a lunch of two tacos (green chile pork & fried avocado, both on corn tortilla) which came to a bit less than $9 after tax. Liquid libation was just a glass of water. The pork was really tender & juicy. The veggies on top were crispy fresh & tasty. The green chile sauce had decent taste, but not much spicy heat. The sauces made the tacos nicely dribbley & drooly enough that a few spare napkins were kept at the ready. In spite of its relatively tame heat index it was a very very good taco from Señor Torchy. The fried avocado was battered in a light batter & arrived at table piping hot. Obviously just made, not sitting under a heat lamp. Again, the veggies on top were fresh & complemented the star of the dish very well. The avocado lent it a really smooth texture & mouth feel. It's an easy candidate for a reorder if/when I next revisit Torchy's. Bonus points for doubling up on the 6" corn tortillas upon which these tacos were built. They provided substantial sturdification to bolster confidence that the bad boys would not disintegrate in your hands. I found the open undifferentiated space pretty loud. But this isn't a fine dining venue, in spite of its imaginative & well prepared food. So some leniency & forgiveness are due since it is obviously catering to the young vibrant collegiate crowd from just across the street. read more

Portions are smaller then what you'll find at fuego or taco bar, but the quality is far better . It's also a bit pricey 3.75-5.75 for a pretty small taco , but they are just so DAMN GOOD!!! We ordered 2 tacos each , queso, and fried cookie dough balls for dessert, and a drink. It came out to 30~ and was well worth it . The avocado sauce was not too spicy, but there was definitely a kick to it. There was a good portion of meat and toppings and it was overall very filling.
