The inside is super cool and I love the outside seating. All the staff is super sweet and the food is super good especially their breakfast tacos but they did start using this new bacon. It's like really fatty and it's kind of gross so that's the only thing I wouldn't recommend they should definitely go back to their old bacon because it was delicious. A rounded up 4 for this one! I originally discovered Torcy's in Houston and had been to a couple Phoenix locations. I was excited to try the Raleigh one since I had a free taco to redeem as part of the reward program. I came on Thursday around 830 PM and sat at the bar for full service (it's also an order at the counter type in the front portion). It's a nice enough spot in the middle of a shopping complex, so great and convenient for stopping for a quick bite in the middle of errands. It was not very crowded or busy, so I was waited on immediately. I ordered the democrat (barbacoa, onions, cilantro, avocado) taco on a corn tortilla and a top shelf margarita ($2 off on Thursdays). My bartender was really friendy and the taco came out fast, under 5 minutes. The drink was tasty and refreshing. The barbacoa, while tender and juicy, was lacking a bit in flavor. It was a good size taco though (as one would expect for over $5 a piece) and I'd definitely be interested in trying some of their other items- I think they have a secret menu too so that would be fun to look into. read more

We love coming here for a lunch on the weekend, unfortunately we don't live close by, but we come to eat here and to grocery shop at the nearby Wegmans. Torchy's food is so fresh and tasty. There are many tacos to pick from, but I recommend looking at the menu before you come since it's counter service. I am a huge fan of the queso and the salsa. Margaritas were a nice treat too, very fresh and flavorful. There is room to dine inside and outdoors. The interior dining room is quite busy and noisy, it's probably best to come here at an off time if you do visit. I really hope Torchy's will consider opening up in Apex or Holly Springs, I think it would do quite well! read more

The half size is really small but perfect for one person. For my main dish I ordered 2 tacos; fried Avocado and green chile pork. I added a top shelf margarita. The tacos had amazing flavor and were larger than traditional street tacos. The margarita was very small for the price and just ok. Way too much ice so only like four drinks and you're done. Normally a big fan of Torchy's. I love their green Chile pork taco. It's so flavorful and is served on a corn tortilla which is perfect for me since I'm gluten free. So I ordered my usual yesterday and my husband ordered a green Chile pork taco and a republican taco. The republican taco comes on a flour shell but the cashier asked if he wanted flour or corn and he changed to corn. Our food comes and we dig in and halfway through my taco I realize it's a flour tortilla and not corn! I look at the receipt and it says flour tortilla. The green Chile pork is supposed to come on corn so why in the world would she change it to flour? My husband's green Chile taco was served on corn as it is supposed to be. This place was recommended to us so we decided to try it out a few nights ago and WOW we were impressed! Service was quick and friendly and all were happy with what they ordered. The owner came out and was apologetic that they did not have any rice prepared and offered us substitute options while we waited. Our food was all delicious. Not impressed. I order the brisket taco and the meat was cold as if it was just brought out from the cooler. I was surprised to find out that it was $7.00 per taco and it left me hungry but not enough to take a chance on another bad one. Tried Torchy's for late lunch on Sunday. Good stuff. It's fast casual; order at the counter, they serve you at your table. Despite the 4 register counter, the line is long but moves quickly. The order counter is backed by a bar, serving a variety of libations which also can be ordered for table delivery. There are about 15 tables inside and an equal number on the patio. Orders taken with a friendly smile. Food service was brusk; drop and go without any words spoken. The shrimp taco was good. 5 medium shrimp, lightly battered and deep fried light brown served on a warm soft corn tortilla. Mixed with pickled onions & jalapeños, cabbage slaw and dusted with cotija cheese. Tasted just like a shrimp taco should taste. Next time, I'll order two. One left me wanting more. The Airstream salad was the star. Romaine and arugula are topped with pico de gallo, peppadew peppers, grilled corn, sliced avocado. The whole thing is dusted with cotija cheese, whole pistachio nuts and chipotle sauce. Champagne vinaigrette on the side. Ordered topped with chicken. A delicious combo. My friend said she loved the breakfast tacos as well. One thing I don't see many reviews about but is a MUST try is the burrito. It's under the "not a taco" option and comes with beef, chicken, pork, or veggies. I got the chicken burrito and added queso. I'm normally veryyyyyy skeptical when it comes to ordering burritos because most places don't get the portions of everything inside right and it tastes like too much rice, too much beans, or just no flavor. The beef fajitas had good seasoning, however we were quite disappointed with the sizes and quality of food. The trailer park was basically a fried chicken strip with lots of shredded cheese that would be given as a kid's meal. The chips they came with the queso was overly salted and stale. After trying our $35 meal and having to wait 35 mins for our takeout, we realized the long lines were due to the slow service and not for the quality of food. I've been to Torchy's taco 5 times now and let me just say this place does not disappoint. As a vegetarian this place has some fire avocado tacos and their breakfast tacos also hit the spot. I love pairing the tacos with the avocado hot sauce as it gives it a nice kick. The tacos are pretty big and I usually can only eat 2 at most. The true winner is the queso which literally melts in my mouth. Sometimes I think I'm in Texas with this perfectly concocted queso! I will say this place is very busy for dinner so go early (anytime before 5:30 is probably good). Prices are decent but somewhat on the higher end (usually $10-$15 for a meal for one). You can choose from any number of tacos, corn or flour tortilla, and then you can make them "trashy" if you want, which adds queso to your taco as well. I had seen Torchy's mentioned all over social media, and so when a friend suggested that we go there for dinner, I was excited to finally try a Torchy's taco for myself! I got a Democrat taco (Barbacoa, avocado, cotija cheese, cilantro, onions, lime, tomatillo sauce, corn tortilla), Baja Shrimp taco (shrimp, cooked cabbage slaw, pickled onions, jalapenos, cotija cheese, cilantro, lime wedge, chipotle sauce, corn tortilla), and a side of Torchy's Mexican Rice. I was pretty disappointed in the Mexican rice - it was nothing special. The tacos, however, were pretty solid! They were very filling and had completely different flavor profiles. For the Baja Shrimp, you get to pick between fried or grilled shrimp, and I really enjoyed it grilled. My friend also ordered the Green Chile Queso, which turned out to be delicious!
