Good value, interesting menu options, and friendly staff make this a good place for tacos. I tried the "Democrat" taco and the "Crossroads" taco, which both have beef. They came out cold and didn't have a whole lot of flavor. The Mexican rice, on the other hand, has a good amount of flavor and was warm and delicious. I got a glass of water with tajon still on the rim. So i asked for another and there was tajon floating in the water. My husband asked the bartender (Amanda) for another and let her know I was served 2 dirty glasses of water. She said that it's "bar glitter that's all through their ice. There's also salt all thru the ice but we just don't see it" Gross. She never said another word to us until we complained. We sat there for at least 45 minutes being completely ignored. The bar next to us had food on it when new people came to sit down as well as a dirty bar on the other side of us. The 2 couples next to us, after we said something agreed that the service was terrible. We were planning on ordering more food and drinks but obviously decided against it. When I went to the bathroom Amanda and the manager gave me a dirty look and stopped talking when I walked buy. I knew then she had tried to get ahead of the situation. She said she was on a break. Amanda sat in front on the drink station eating. Yes I understand a break. But for 45 minutes while the rest of are completely ignored. Ridiculous. My husband complained to the manager and he didn't apologize. All he said is that she was on her break. So I guess we should have served ourselves? WTH? We have come to this Torchy's often any my husband works in the service industry. We give A LOT or grace when it comes to service but this was horrible. THEN when I asked her for change she said to me "I'll get your change don't want you to think I'm ignoring you" Are you frickin kidding me????? All the tacos on a Tuesday! Got here around 5pm and the bar area was def starting to get busy! Tacos were great & the guacamole was on point (who doesn't love a little cheese sprinkled on top!). I had a hard time rating this place because there are some parts I really liked and others I did not at all. First of all we waited for about 20 minutes for our food, I was hoping it would be a little bit faster. The staff was very friendly and offered to help us through the menu since it was our first time here and the prices are about the same as other taco places. When we finally got our food we realized too late that they had given us the wrong burrito. The other burrito that was correct wasn't made very well. The cheese was not melted at all and one half of the burrito was freezing cold and the other side was really hot. I had a shrimp taco and chips with salsa, I wanted a green chili taco also but they were out. The salsa was delicious with just the right amount of heat and the chips were warm and tasty. My taco arrived at about room temperature and I have been told by others that they have experienced that also. My shrimp taco was good with a generous portion of shrimp and the spices were very well done. I will eat here again but I will ask them to make a note on my ticket where I am sitting so my taco arrives warm. They have real good black cherry soda on tap so that is a plus to me. We just ate at Torchy's for the first time and loved it! We went up to the counter to order and told the employee it was our first time and he gave us a quick run down of the menu and told us his favorites. He also said they give first timers free chips and green chili queso! We ordered drinks, my husband got the Scallywag margarita that is rimmed with Cap'n Crunch and coconut and I ordered the Tito's Cherry limeade. I ordered the Scallywag taco (which is the taco of the month) and the fried avocado taco. The Scallywag is a coconut shrimp taco. My husband ordered the trailer park taco (fried chicken & green chiles), green chili pork taco and the brushfire taco (Jamaican jerk chicken). When ordering the employee told us that the tacos are pretty big and usually one taco is a snack, 2 is a meal and 3 is if your really hungry! They gave us a buzzer and we picked a table. The buzzer never went off and they just brought us our food and drinks, so I'm not sure what the point of the buzzer is. At the fountain drink station there is kids coloring pages and crayons and tin foil and to-go bags which is convenient! This is not your typical or traditional taco shop. They have lots of different and unique flavors. We heard that Torchy's is good from multiple people and it did not disappoint! Stopped by this place today on a recommendation from a friend. This place is pretty good, although is pretty pricey for a taco joint. I ordered the Democrat, which is a shredded beef barbacoa taco that comes on a 6" corn or flour tortilla. I also ordered the steak fajita taco as well as chips w/ queso dip. The democrat taco was actually really good. Lots of flavor and a huge portion of shredded beef. The fajita taco on the other hand had a funny taste to it. The quest wasn't too shabby either. All and all, Torchy's is about average when it comes to taste, but definitely too pricey. In comparison to Fuzzy Tacos, Torchy's is leaps and bounds better when it comes to taste. read more

We were incredibly disappointed. Honestly, very surprised of the raving Google Maps reviews. Maybe we came on a bad night? Regardless, the food was absolutely terrible and we will never eat here again. Can't believe they charge what they do for their tacos. These were some of the worst tacos I've ever eaten. Take out from Torchy's for the first time last night (Sat 2/20) at around 5pm. - 2 super burritos w/ beef - It tasted like one big glob of mush. The beef was dry and tough. We found ourselves avoiding the meat. - 1 carnitas taco - meat was dry. Sauce was good. The corn tortillas we terrible and fell apart instantly. - 1 beef fajita taco - I don't know what cut of meat they gave us, but it was tough, chewy and dry. - 1 order of queso & chips - honestly, this was the best thing we ordered. This place reminded me of a hipster burrito joint I went to when I lived at the beach - and that's definitely not a bad thing. This might not be made from scratch Hispanic food, but it is still really damn good. On the menu are an abundance of different items, however most of them are specialty tacos (hence the name). I chose the Baja Shrimp Taco and the Crossroads, both on corn tortillas. They were delish. It ran me a little over $10, so it was a little pricey for two tacos (I believe they were ~ $4.95 a piece), and I could have eaten 2 more for sure, but what I had tasted really, really good. I've been talking about visiting Torchy's for months, because I loved the original Torchy's in Austin, TX. My visit did not disappoint! The tacos: instead of traditional tacos, Torchy's puts my favorite food in a taco - catfish, fries chicken, avocado, etc. I love traditional tacos, but Torchy's creativity makes it special! This time, I ordered the Alabama Shake taco with catfish (delicious) and the Dirty Sanchez taco (look under the breakfast menu). I LOVED the Dirty Sanchez taco. With egg, guac, cheese, a poblano pepper, and Torchy's sauce, it's everything I ever wanted in one bite. It was also super filling for the price! You can choose between flour or corn tortillas. The green chili queso: the queso has a spicy kick! I like how the green chilis and small chunks of avocado give it good texture. My friend and I ordered it as an app and could not finish it! This would be great for four people to chow on or to make it your main meal with some drinks. Quality/Quantity: The tacos are good value for the money, especially the Dirty Sanchez which is under $4. I'd come back for queso and one taco or two tacos/no queso. Drinks: The Torchy's Tini is actually a Mexican martini, a drink invented in Austin Texas. Think margarita, but not super sweet. I loved it! Service: Good. At no point did I wonder about where where my food was. Our chips and queso came out quickly, and the tacos came out way before we were done with the queso. Torchy's is a good spot for a quick bite for lunch, but every time I've been, I've never really loved the tacos. All of the ingredients are good on their own, but when Torchy's combines the ingredients for each taco, it just doesn't work or taste right. I'd rather just have tacos with basic ingredients. I will say that their green chile queso is ridiculously good. I keep going back to Torchy's for this queso and chips. I'm also disappointed with this location because whenever I order take out, there is usually something missing from the order. The last time I picked up food for me and my coworkers, all of the chips were left out, and it was annoying to have to drive back. Just double check your food if ordering take out. read more

We ordered the Crossroads Family Pack and a kids chicken quesadilla. The Crossroads is supposed to be beef but it was more like pork with fatty parts and super tiny pieces and not shredded. Tasted like Kalua Pork. Wasn't horrible. The kids chicken quesadilla was missing the chicken and the size of my child's hand haha don't spend the money if you're expecting it to fill up your child. The rice and beans weren't my bag. It was really sweet like they put a load of sugar in them. One thing they did get right. Their salsa. It's was a nice balance of roasted and tang. What a wonderful surprise to know there is another Torchy's in Colorado and in the Denver suburbs. I've been a fan of the food and brand since discovering Torchy's in Austin. Today, I was greeted by a bevy of employees with rainbow-colored hair and colorful "Taco Dreams" t-shirts. How wonderful! They were super friendly. (I've read other reviews about rude staff, and I experienced none of that.) I ordered my usual Wrangler and Democrat. Both satisfying and fresh, and also larger than i remember... Only downside is that the prices seem to have increased. Maybe only at this location? Given the large size of my tacos, I still feel I received value for my dollar. First time trying this chain and wish I liked it better, but it was kind of a mixed bag. Ordering was easy, service was fast, place was not too loud and tables were plentiful and clean. But the tacos... just ok. I applaud the vegetarian options, which sounded good, but execution was lacking. Tacos are too overstuffed, wet, and hard to eat. A smear of refried beans on a fried avocado taco is just weird filler. And a mix of yellow and white cheese-like product (are they real cheese? maybe but they don't have any flavor) on the beyond beef taco also just brought the whole product down. The queso tasted very good but was too thin and watery. Basically, kind of expensive for what it is, I'll stick with R Taco, way better and just a bit further to drive. read more

Our visit on Cinco de Mayo wasn't as pleasant as previous visits. My fiance made our order at 5PM and the order confirmation stated that it would be ready at 5:35PM. Great! We took a walk to the 88th and Wadsworth location and there were about 50 people waiting outside - some with masks, some without. We sat a ways away to avoid the crowd and my fiance kind of lingered around the crowd to get a better idea of when our food would be ready. They said they were 45 minutes delayed. At that point, I decided to walk back home and let him get our order. About 20 minutes later, he called and updated that they would be finished in an hour and a half later, so he also came home to wait it out. At 7PM, he called to make sure if he went to the restaurant that our order would be ready. Unfortunately, they did not answer. He left by car this time and picked up the order at about 7:15PM. He felt bad because people were very rude so he took care of the servers with a good tip. We understand that days like that stink (and we can't even imagine during the pandemic). It would have been nice to get a better idea of the delays once they started happening either via email or phone call. I'm sure management was aware that it would be a hectic day on Cinco de Mayo during the pandemic restrictions. That being said, everything was good. My fiance did have to remind them of chips and guac that was on our order, but that was an easy and quick add. I will have to say, we like going to the restaurant better (which shouldn't be a surprise). Everything is fresher and hotter when you get it in real-time, but Torhcy's was a good treat to have for Cinco de Mayo. I got the trailer park, fried avocado, and Baja shrimp tacos. The Baja shrimp is always my favorite! Those spiced, fried shrimpies are so good! We also really like the guac here. It stays very fresh for a couple of days! I wish there was a bit more of a kick to it, but I understand that not everyone loves spice. We will be back. This is a super convenient location. We might just have to visit on an "off" day. First time coming to Torchy's after reading great reviews and personal recommendations. Was hoping for a seat at the bar but they were packed full, dining was pretty empty 4:15 on a Saturday. Ordered 4 (2 adults) fried avocado tacos, chips/queso and 2 beers on tap. $43 for all of it, at first thought it was pricy but then once we ate our delicious food decided it was all worth it. The only thing I would change is how stuffed full the tacos are, I still ate both because I hate to waste but would have been just fine with 1 had I know how huge they were! We used to go to fuzzys to who also had fried avocado tacos, fuzzys always came out cold, gross, sloppy and not as full as these. We will be back soon! read more

I like Torchy's menu. Yes, it is Tex Mex, not authentic Mexican, or as a Yelp friend describes this genre as "Gringo Tacos." They are very tasty though. This is only the second location of this chain I have been to. And I have eaten at each location just once. So for what it's worth, I'll have to say, I greatly preferred the Northfield/Stapleton location, if you have the choice. It was quicker, brighter, cleaner, bigger, overall, somehow just nicer. But I live near neither, so I take the opportunity if I find myself anywhere near a Torchy's, I'll find a reason to stop and eat. I love their queso. A lot. And every taco I have tried has been tasty and well put together. Plenty of components. All very fresh. The chips not too salty like some eateries. And the queso, always superb! read more
