The Kiosco Morisco is a kiosk (a small garden pavilion open on some or all sides common to Persia,…read moreIndia, and other places) situated in Colonia Santa María la Ribera. It was built as the Mexican Pavilion at the 1884 World's Fair in New Orleans and was then used for the Saint Louis Exposition in 1902. It was then brought back to Meixico, where it was originally installed in Alameda Central and then moved to its current site. I visited the Kiosco with my brother a week or so ago when we were exploring the neighborhood. You can't walk inside the Kiosco anymore (it is gated off, because the floor isn't structurally sound), but you can still walk around its perimeter and take as many pictures as you like. Its wrought iron and glass cupola dome are stunning. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
