We got soft tacos, tacos dorados, chicken quesadillas, carnitas nachos and a pupusa. The chicken super quesadilla was soooo good. Loaded with flavor and the perfect texture. Our favorite meat was the Al Pastor - it was a little sweet and a ton of flavor. There is a little bit of seating inside and outside but limited and not very clean. Passing by Concord and decided to give this place a try and it did not disappoint! We ordered a bunch of tacos, some burritos, a quesadilla and a side of chips and guac. It was all really good. The prices are a little up there but I guess this place is pretty busy and known. The chicharron is an up charge but it's really good. Their Guac and salsa was also really good. I was driving through the area when this spot caught my eye. After looking through their Yelp reviews and photos, my boyfriend and I decided to give them a try! We had four tacos Dorados with everything and salsa Verde over the top. These tacos were so crispy and the filling of potatoes and beef was nice and fluffy. Once inside, I also noticed that they make fresh pressed juice and you can watch them make it. That is definitely on my list to try next time! Gosh, I dont even know where to start. This is for a pick up order only** I really wanted to like this place. I saw all the reviews from my fellow Elite greats and for SURE thought my experience would be the same. Things I ordered: Posole 13.99 Caldo de Res 13.99 Crispy Asada Taco 5.79 Chicharron/cheese Pupusa (cant remember price) The soups were decently priced. That almost $6 taco WAS NOT worth it, $3 at best. The over the phone service was a bit rude and abrupt, couldve been the language barrier, idk... Im sick and all I wanted was some decent caldo. When I received it, I wanted to send it right back. Ive had caldo de res my entire life and NEVER has it been served to me with tough, fatty meat. The meat usually falls off the bone. I had to pull this meat off of the fat and it was hard and chewy. There was also huge chunks of fat in the soup container. Horrible. The pieces of vegetable werent even cut! These werent even a rough chop! It was just awful all the way around. I ended up throwing away all the meat and fat bc I cpuldnt eat it. The only thing good about it was the broth. The broth was 5 star. Unfortunately, nothing else was. I had 3 bites of the pupusa and tossed it out. Very disappointe, to say the least. I havent even tried thw pozole yet and Im already discouraged. Would I go back based on this experience? No. And bc I dont live out here, I likely wont return anyway. I usually frequent El Farolito. El Molino restaurant is so delicious. The Papusas and burritos are exceptional in my opinion. The tacos are fabulous. I love thejr Menudo as well. Their corn with cheese is spicy and I literally am addicted to it. They put such love and care in their cooking and you can tell. The portions are wonderfully big and they give you lots of their delicious salsas I definitely recommend this restaurant and to try it all. The prices are also very fair. read more

This is our go to for Mexican food to eat at home! Or to eat onsite! Everything they have is delicious. From the chicken to the carnitas to the fresh salsa and the fresh tortillas that were probably made just hours before. Their chips are delicious too! We usually get the big bag along with the red and green salsa. The corn tortillas are sometimes still warm in the bags. They have the regular thin ones as well as the thicker ones. Tortillería el Molino already has it's reputation for elite tortillas, masa and food, all made in house and serving the Concord area, so i expected da best when i came it was busy, with a line reaching the outside, which inly was a good sign of good food and regulars. ambiance was very live and busy. i had their tacos, and ordered a natural beet juice, with purple tortillas to go. everything: so good, made efficiently, served warm and at a good price point if anyone wants some good food in Concord, i would heavily still recommend this place to anyone read more

Came to Tortilleria El Molino for my taco fix and decided on the carne asada tacos & also got 2 chicken tacos. The tacos are almost $4 each, but are a decent size and pretty hefty. I thought the carne asada had OK flavor, but was super dry and chewy. The chicken tacos were actually a bit better, but still nothing to rave about. I feel like this definitely isn't the place to get tacos, but rather their homemade products like the handmade tortillas. If I'm ever in this part of Concord again I'll be sure to take a pack home. read more

We are usually in and out within 3-5 minutes depending on how long the wait in line and/or when I need to use their restroom (which is usually clean at time of visit!) Therefore, as far as experience go, I give mad props to the staff when it comes to taking and packing our take-out order. My Yelp buddy Harvey have been trying different taquerias in the East Bay. Tortilleria El Molino is located in a Mexican shopping center on Monument Blvd in Concord. It's on the one side of the Market. On the day we went it was packed so we decided to dine out in the patio area. I ordered two Al pastor, one carne asada, one carnitas. The tacos were huge and took up the entire box. Harvey got the loaded nachos plate. The tacos are good not great, also the pre packaged salsa could have been better. I understand that cuero can naturally have some hair, but never in all the years we've been coming have we seen this much hair in our food. It was honestly overwhelming. I brought it up kindly and respectfully, and the staff laughed in my face. That reaction was extremely unprofessional and disappointing. Basic kitchen preparation should prevent something like this, and if this is considered "normal" for them now, I'd appreciate being informed so we know not to pick up again because we've never experienced anything like that before. I decided to try this place because of the reviews, and one of my co-workers and my neighbor hyped it up. I came early in the morning and the place was super busy, but the line was moving quickly. I ordered an al pastor burrito and a side of tortilla chips. My al pastor burrito is not what I was expecting. It was so bad I tossed most of it away. I love al pastor, and it's my go-to meat when I order a burrito or taco. I've had amazing al pastor in Mexico and living in San Jose most of my life. So, I had an expectation of what the al pastor should look and taste like. However, when I bit into my burrito, everything started dripping out. Their al pastor looks like Sloppy Joe. It's very wet and saucy. I'm used to all pastors cooked on a spindle wrapped around a pineapple, then carved like gyro meat. Also, the salsa comes in packets and does not taste homemade. The tortilla chips were the only positive about my meal. I think the reason this place is busy and has good reviews is because of the price. This place is around $4-6 cheaper than most places. I'm not sure what happened with my experience considering the reviews are so good here but this was some of the most mediocre, borderline bad Mexican food I've ever had. I'm always used to these smaller taquerias being absolutely fire so I was completely surprised! There aren't too many tables to eat inside the restaurant so we took it to go. I ordered a bean & cheese pupusa and 2 carne asada tacos. The pupusa was so bad. So so bad. It did not taste like how a pupusa is supposed to taste. The tacos were a little better and loaded with meat, but the taste was pretty mediocre. It was very busy on a Friday evening so maybe they were rushed, but the food quality is not what I was expecting. Still the best taco joint I always come back for! Since my first visit a few months ago I've been consistently coming back for more tacos. I wanted to try everything on their menu but somehow I always get their soft tacos (Al pastor/carnitas/asada) and their tacos dorado! The dorado was really good and confirm my love for basic, fresh and delicious tacos. The cashier was always friendly. Orders came out fast. Food made fresh and hot. I just love them. I will definitely try their other options on the menu in the future. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The kitchen area was behind the cashier so you could see how they prepare the food. I came here today with my wife, and while the food itself tasted really good (I had the carnitas burrito and she had the carne asada tacos), the experience was ruined by something unacceptable. While we were eating, a small cockroach crawled across our table. I managed to snap a photo before it ran underneath. When I looked closer, I noticed another roach, this one dead, stuck in the crevice between the wall and the table. At that point, I couldn't eat another bite. I threw my food away immediately, and my wife stopped eating as well. If there are roaches out in the dining area where customers are sitting, I can only imagine what's happening in the back where the food is prepared. It's disappointing because the flavors and dishes themselves were really good, but cleanliness is non-negotiable. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back here again. This is my go-to Mexican place. Those nachos are unbeatable. Nachos are crunchy and the meat is flavorful. The guac is tasty and is great on top. That whole container for $15? Say less!!! As they specialize in tortillas, it really shines through in their burritos which are wrapped in beautifully soft flour tortillas, and filled with very high-quality ingredients and generous portions. You can choose from a wide range of classic proteins, and we frequently go for the Carnitas, Carne Asada, Al Pastor, Cabeza and Lengua. We always get extra tortilla chips and a large side of their homemade guacamole too. If you need tortillas for a party you can order and pay in advance. Super convenient. Service is quick don't be intimidated by the long line. It's disappointing when you order a burrito and find that three-quarters of it is just rice, or when you get a chunk of cheese because they added so much that it didn't melt. Never had the Dorados but knew it was a crunchy taco with Potato & Beef and I was fine with it along with lettuce, tomato, salsa and cheese.
