My main reason for hiring a lawyer was to fight for the sole custody of my child. Upon hiring, we had an agreement he would represent me to obtain sole custody. In the many hearings we had to attend, he wanted to settle in court for joint custody without speaking to me about it. He pretty much just wanted to be done with my case without making much effort to win. I prepared an outline of valid reasons why I should get sole custody and main points to be brought up in court. I basically was my own lawyer at that point and gave him the information to work with and for. This guy still wasn't trying to be on my side and defend me in court. This was unbelievable even though this is something that was agreed upon hiring. It was a waste of money, in my opinion hiring this lawyer.
