I went in as a walk-in, badly in need of a pedicure. This shop has plenty of people on staff at any time and accommodated me immediately. The shop is quite large, with two separate treatment areas. They have an overwhelming number of colors to choose from. Pricing is reasonable. My pedicure was extremely relaxing and including a hot wax dip for my feet. I'll definitely go back. I've been coming for a year for dip manicures and classic pedicures. I enjoy the way all of them do my nails. It's very clean inside. Someone is always mopping or sweeping. The pedicure bowls are lined with plastic. The stations are organized. They have an overwhelming amount of color options which is a good thing. They are very friendly. I have a bad habit of biting/ruining my nails and cuticles when I'm stressed out and I had an amazing manicurist in California who helped me grow out and strengthen my nails before I moved here 3 years ago. I was going to a girls weekend and my hands looked wrecked so on a whim and a chance, I booked a gel mani with Steven. Welll... what a great decision. Steven gently and quietly took my wrecked nubs and turned them into a cute and subtly sexy cat eye mani. I've gone to Tosa Nails periodically for the past 5 years, and they always do exactly what I ask for on my finger nails. The owners are extremely friendly, and I've gotten gel manicures as well as a full acrylic set done. Attached is a picture of the first acrylic set I ever got done in February, and the nail tech at Tosa Nail Spa did a perfect job, they didn't lift at all for 1 month and 1 week. Additionally, the nail tech applied gel polish right up to my cuticle so when I decided to take them off after that month/week time period shown in the second picture, they had grown out but it wasn't incredibly noticeable. came in for a fill with a small rip in my pointer finger nail which i made him aware of right away. he wanted to take a nail tip and rip the fake nail off, so i pulled my hand away saying not to do that and to please soak it off because my nail will come off if you do that. he started to soak it off, but then used the electric file on that nail making my nail bed bleed (should have left at this point) then flooded all my cuticles with acrylic and was doing damage control the whole time. Stopped by here for a pre-vacation mani and pedi and loved my experience. I get my nails done 2-3 times each year, so not frequently, and get pretty picky about the salons I stop at! Received a regular pedicure and a gel manicure and it cost around $72 total and took about 90 minutes. Easy to schedule, but they did take quite a few walk-ins as well. read more

I am very picky about getting my nails done and usually Tosa nails does an okay job for my standards. However, I went today at around 3pm to get my usual dip manicure and my fingers are currently BURNING. I do not know what they did differently. The person who did my nails I had never seen before but ouch. I hope I never see her again. If you go to tosa nails, you need to have either Kevin, the woman with purple hair and cute glasses, or the other woman with curly hair and cute glasses do your nails. Do not trust anyone else. I am miserable right now and am not sure how to fix the problem I am having, but this has never happened with Kevin or either of those 2 ladies (sorry I don't know their names). My nails look fine, but the experience was less than ideal. I had a guy who was more interested in shaping and painting my nails the way he wanted, despite the preferences I shared. I also had to ask for him to cut my cuticles down, which seemed strange because I've never gotten my nails done and not had the nail tech care about the health of the skin surrounding my nails. He made me feel like a burden when I asked for a shape, or another layer of color because the polish was see-through on an actual nail. I heard other techs ask their clients if they liked the color, etc. Rarely do I leave negative reviews but the whole experience was uncomfortable, especially when I was asking for the bare minimum when I was paying (and tipping!) for a good manicure. read more

Arrived 15 mins early before my 3:00pm appointment. Was seated a few minutes after my scheduled time, so that's good. Was directed towards the spa seat. Guess I'm getting my pedi first! Water is warm. Some sort of blue powder was added to the water. Jets are on which is nice. Television is on playing "What Women Want". Busy day, some customers had to be put on a wait list of an hour or more. Forgot about the massage chair! Turned that sucker on to rub out the knots. It is now 3:30. The water is luke warm at best. Feet are getting prunny. 3:33pm I get a technician! Was handed a nail pallet of colors to choose from. Received the works! Even used a "cheese grater to exfoliate my feet! Cuticles trimmed and feet scrubbed. Glad my feet soaked for so long. They needed that foot scrub BAD!!!! Technician took time to scrub each toe too!! Did not feel rushed. Could tell he examined what needed to get done. They were squeeky clean!!!! The lotion used smelled nice and the massage was gentle but good! A really nice hot towl was pressed against my legs and feet and they were rubbed through the towl!! Lotion wiped off, now onto nails!!! Sandals placed backon before the nail polish applied. Interesting! 4:00pm moved on to the mani station! Fan is underneath the table to quickly dry nails. I received a gel mani. Technician was quick, accurate, and polite. In total the bill came out to be $67! This does not include the $7 tip I gave to each technician. All in all, it was a pleasant experience. Just a bit too pricey for my taste. read more

Whether it was just plain rudeness and inconsideration or racial discrimination, either way I will never step another foot into this place. I've been to this nail salon a few times and always had a good experience until 11/14/2020. I walk in and there's no open seat for nails and only one seat open for pedi for service. Cool. It was a Saturday anyways and I didn't make an appointment so I expected to wait. No problem. I tell the gentleman who's servicing a customer at the front what I want and he may have been the owner, I've never seen him before. Full set with gel polish and toe nail polish with gel polish. He tells me there's a 10 minute wait and I can have a seat on the other side of the salon. Again, no problem. I'm sitting there and another young woman walks in and states she wants a pedicure and he immediately seats her at the open pedi chair. She did NOT have an appointment. She was in walk-in like I was. I couldn't believe what I saw or heard. I was hesitant to say anything but I couldn't let it go. I walked to him and pretty much asked why I had to wait when I wanted my toes polished and the young lady didn't have to. His response made no sense to me "Everyone does different things here." Um, NO. We both wanted our toes done and I'm certain that a pedicure takes a lot longer to do a simple toe polish with gel polish and I was here first. I told him that didn't make any sense and I'll take my money elsewhere. In case my review is deleted, it'll be pasted onto YELP as well. Great service! In the past, I've been pretty disappointed with getting shellac manicures and not lasting. My manicure turned out wonderfully! Kevin, the owner stands by his quality of work. I will definitively be back. Visited a second time and experience not so pleasant. Specifically asked for owner and was pushed off on another inexperienced nail tech for a shellac manicure. Nails began to peel within in 3 days. I notified the shop of this and was told to come back to fix but am currently out of town. Needless to say, I won't be going back. A girlfriend and I decided to try this place two weeks ago and had a wonderful experience. We stopped by about 30 minutes before closing, yet the staff made us feel very much at home. The owner offered us a beverage (we chose wine) and put us in the coziest massage chairs we've experienced at a nail salon. We appreciated that, instead of bottles of unsightly nail polish all over the place, they have you select your color from nail wheels that are painted with each polish. It was nice to be able to sit in the chair and browse colors while the tech got started. At $25 for a pedicure, they're priced pretty average. We'll be back again. read more

I've been to Tosa Nails a few times and have been satisfied with the job done. The last time I went in was two weeks ago and I was a bit disappointed. They weren't busy, but I felt rushed. The lady who did my pedi didn't speak a word to me the entire time. A different tech did my manicure and that was fine even though the conversation was almost non-existent as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting my techs to be my best buds and chatting it up, but a few pleasantries would be nice. The Short: They rushed though the pedicure, not relaxing at all, very unsanitary and although they have signs that say they welcome credit cards, they will insist you use the ATM that is in the store. The Details: I was in town visiting my friend in Tosa and we were both very overdue for a pedicure, she mentioned there was salon right up the street and we should try it out. I called ahead and made an appointment and they were able to get us in within an hour. We walked in and they pointed to the spa chairs and told us to sit down, I guess it was self seating. They got started right away, they turned on the water and walked away. I told them the water was too hot so the tech next to me reached over to fix it, but he just ended up making it scolding hot and I burned my foot. Both the techs started working, but both my friend and I felt like they were racing each other. It was the fastest most non-relaxing pedicure I have ever had. Not to mention they didn't offer either of us a drink like they offered other clients. Quick side note: There were three techs working and two of them wore gloves, but my friend's tech didn't which seemed a bit odd. The pedicure went on and she proceeded to use a cheese grater to shave my heels (which was probably the right tool for the job considering). However, after she shaved tons of dry skin off my feet, she had me put my feet back in the water and she proceeded to throw the dirty cheese grater full of dry skin and all the dirty tools back in the dirty water with my feet and wash all the tools and my feet in the same dirty cesspool. I was disgusted! I asked for a flower design and the left toe was significantly and noticeably larger than the right toe. When it was time to pay, I noticed signs that said "we gladly accept credit cards, but we prefer cash." Both my friend and I handed over our credit cards because we didn't have enough cash. She took my friend's card, but upon realizing my card was also a debit card she pointed to the ATM in their store and asked "can you get cash out?" I told her I would rather her run my card bc I didn't want to pay the outrageous fee...she insisted again and I said no. She finally took the card, but seemed unhappy. I walked into the salon at 5:40p (they close at 7:00p). Upon entering, one of the techs asked me what I wanted done; I told him gel manicure and a pedicure. He then thought for a minute and proceeded to tell me that they were booked and couldn't service me today. There were only 2 customers in the entire salon, 1 of them in process of being serviced. There was also a tech sitting in the lounge area looking out of the window doing nothing. I picked this place because the reviews were great and it's close to my house. I hate to pull the race card, but I have no other logical guess as to why I was refused service. I am new to the area, and this is very disheartening.
