Dr Rivera and her team are absolutely amazing. We had a older dog with cancer and severe arthritis that hated the vet and would have to be sedated and muzzled just to be examined. We found total care and had them come to our house where he was comfortable and they were so kind and patient with him that he was able to be examined without added stress. We knew he was terminal and Dr Rivera always kept him comfortable with pain medication. When his time came they came to our house and we're so very respectful of our family and how emotional the loss was for us. Losing a pet is heartbreaking but they made it easier for us to go through and we can't thank them enough.

Given a dire possible diagnosis of parathyroid abnormality that might require surgery. Lab work ordered by the ER vet included a hypercalcemia of maligancy profile for $594.66. They took blood for that test to be sent out, but apparently the parcel broke in transit, so I could cancel that test. Took the dog to Cheyenne Mountain Animal Hospital, her normal vet, the next week. Dr. Wechter was skeptical of such a dire diagnosis, given the slightly elevated calcium level on initial blood tests. Ordered the same test for $250.00. In addition, this test was a fasting test (the blood taken at the ER vet was after the dog had stuffed herself with dog treats). The test was normal. Lesson: Only use the ER vet for true emergencies, and rely on a trusted veterinarian for all care possible. (Also, do a better job of locking up dog treats.)

Edit: They did the WRONG test. And said "oops" then made me come back for the correct test. Visit #3: We call to make an appointment for our dog for cushings meds because they have his prior tests and diagnosis on file, and it's a prescription only medication. We told them he is out of medication and needs the test to get more. They schedule the appointment and everything seems fine. Fast forward to the appointment date. We take the dog in for the test, only for them to do an exam and cut his nails, and say, "oh well we can't test him because he's been off the medicine for so long, so we'll have to order him a 30 day supply and you'll have to come back." Why they couldn't have done that before, and save me an almost $150 trip, I'll never know. That was on a Wednesday and they said they'd fax the script into the pharmacy same day. Thursday rolls around, still no script faxed in. So we call, and they'll "do it right away." Friday; no script. Call again. "We'll get it faxed asap." Well it's now Sunday, and I've checked the patient portal for my dogs pharmacy, and still no prescription faxed in, so he's just been suffering for almost a week because they can't get their stuff together. Worst vet ever. Their staff are just always completely clueless and useless. Won't be coming back.
