Not having a real clue about who to go with I called several different home inspectors, but Mark was the quickest to get back to me and very accommodating with my schedule needs so I went with him. I am very glad I did. He showed up right at the planned time, and spent a lot of time with me patiently answering all my questions, going all over the outside of the property, up on the roof, in the attic, opening electrical boxes, explaining each system in the house, and thoroughly going over each room. He took pictures of all the issues he found and i got a great report with notes and pictures for anything that he suggested addressing. This was very helpful as it is hard to remember everything that gets pointed out or exactly what it looks like. My wife and I were drawn to Tom at "Like My Own Home Inspection" after reading his desire to get…read moreinto the business from experiences he had with his family and wanting to inspect a home like it was his own. We were purchasing a house that our family will grow in to and it was important that we shared the same values. He was very flexible as we had an early closing date and were able to schedule an inspection within a week. Tom is very meticulous and thoughtful on his process. He begins on the exterior of the house and inspects all aspects on the outside. He then moves to the garage and makes sure that everything is up to code. Once inside, we circled the perimeter of the interior of the house making sure everything was addressed. This process was followed all the way down to the basement. In the basement, Tom was very open and helped explain the purpose of all appliances and electrical components. He also shared best practices for keeping these running at peak efficiency. We received our inspection report that night. It was extremely thorough while informing us of any work that he suggested be done as well as any work that we should keep our eye on. Tom did a great job of taking clear pictures of those items as well as how difficult the work would be. I would recommend "Like My Own Home Inspection" to anyone. We will be using them for any future moves and suggesting them to all friends and family that are looking for someone to inspect their home.
