He kept us updated on the progress of each lamp for the work needed was intricate. One lamp had three sockets that needed to be re-wired and a new cord & switch put in. The other lamp had 12 sockets and several needed to be replaced, along with the cord and a foot switch. Both lamps work gloriously - we could not be more thrilled. It is so nice to have our 12 socket lamp working correctly - and brightly. IMO if you are not a DIY type, call a professional & pay the money. They are willing to negotiate prices a little bit, also, even though their signs state otherwise. If you're short a couple of bucks, they'll let you slide.... I've purchased some high-quality, expensive office furniture in very good condition from here for only a fraction of the original cost. Like a solid cherry wood file cabinet by a top-name manufacturer for only $120.00, which would have cost me $600-700 new, and a solid wood large bookcase for only $65.00 which would have been two or three hundred new.
