I went to Total Wedding back in February/March to try on my bridesmaid's dress for a friend's wedding. The dress is pretty and I'm able to wear it to other occasions, so I'm glad the bride picked what she did. One downside to the dresses is that instead of coming in sizes 2, 4, 6, 8 and so on, they come in small, medium or large. I tried on the medium which fit perfectly everywhere except for the hips. I then proceeded to ask if I could try on the large, but it was too big--it fell off of me even with the zipper closed. I asked if they could let their dresses out but they said they could only let them in, so I went ahead and ordered the medium size. They have a great selection of dresses to choose from--whether it's for prom, quicineras, weddings, bridal parties or even wedding dresses. The only reason I gave it two stars was because of the quality of the dresses. I only paid $70 for my dress, but it was because we (the bridal party) were able to get a discount for knowing the owner. If I paid the full amount, I would have gone elsewhere to find a better fitting and better structured dress. The dress itself has a very uncomfortable lining and there is no hook-closure at the top of the zipper, which most dresses do. This place is a joke. Went in there to see what they had for bridal gown and brides maids dresses and the woman approached us asking, "Are one of you getting married?" I told her yes. She then asked "When?" I told her in a year... she then stated "Make an appointment and come back another time." I said "we would like to get ideas since we are going to a couple different stores." Then the woman stated "this is not a browsing store, leave." Completely rude and will never go back or recommend! She could've easily made $1000 off of me since I actually had found a dress I wanted to try on! read more

Total Wedding in Vernon hills, IL. does NOT honor their advertisement. I brought my daughter in there to look for a homecoming dress. There are signs all over the store stating $20 off homecoming dresses with school ID. My daughter found a dress she fell in LOVE with! The size she needed they didn't have, so I asked if it could be ordered. The owner said yes and it would take 2 weeks. After he wrote up the order, he didn't take off the $20 for student ID. He said that because it wasn't in the store, we didn't get the discount. It DOES NOT state that anywhere on ANY of the signs in the store. Total Wedding has lost my business, I will NOT buy there since they can't honor what stated in their store. read more
