This place is the Sam's Club +. Parking is fairly easy. The lot can get full is also next to the Home Depot so. I took someone here so they can see how awesome the store was and they really loved it. The customer service is great. If one person doesn't know anything they will get you someone in that section that can assist. Today we were helped by: Shealere, Oscar and Kiara. Very helpful and knowledgeable. They rock. All the staff are helpful and good at suggesting spirits. The app is awesome!! Great coupons! You save! This is the largest Total Wine I've ever seen--not that I've seen many, but the point still stands! You can get basically anything and everything here, from beer and wine to spirits and mixers. I really appreciate how well organized the store is. Every aisle is clearly labeled by variety, region, etc. There is a section for local beers broken down by state, which is one of my favorite browsing sections. There is a huge selection of international wines. The liquors come at all price points, and you'd be hard pressed to not find something here to suit your tastes. There seem to be a lot of staff working at the store to provide recommendations, samples, and staff checkout. I mostly use the Total Wine website to browse for inventory--it's the easiest way for me to identify what I want, and then quickly find it on the shelf. We love Total Wine & More! It's probably good that it isn't closer to us, or we'd be there all the time. Every time we're in Total Wine, there are informal tastings, and when we ask the staff questions, they're very knowledgeable. However, this time we signed up for an hour and a half tasting class on how spirits are barrel aged. Total Wine has a spacious tasting room with high-top seating that is perfect for classes. Larry greeted us when we arrived, and everything was set up and organized. My husband and I each got a mini charcuterie box with cheese, salami, grapes, etc. There was also a booklet and pen to take notes along with a real glass you could use to pour each spirit into along with a bottle of water. We got to try 8 different spirits ranging from scotch to rum, and both Larry and his co-host were a wealth of knowledge. I love how they made the tastings interactive by asking our thoughts after each tasting. They even had a coupon for us at the end. This is why Total Wine rocks! Next, we'll try a wine class. I love Total Wine especially the Brandywine location in Delaware. One it's tax free! Two there are tastings even on a random week day! The store is easy to navigate and is set up nice. It's big but wine, spirits and beer is separated. As we walked in there was a wine tasting and a chocolate and Peanut butter whiskey tasting. I also did a sparkling wine and aperol tasting. So, I walked into the store with my order number and my name and my identification ready to pick up my order in seconds flat. But, the gentleman, Geoffrey, looked at the order number ... checked the computer ... looked at my name and said, "Are you sure you put an order in with us?" YES, of course I did ... look right here at the TEXT Total Wine sent me saying the order was ready ... LOOK at the e-mail confirmation that Total Wine sent to me verifying my order. OF COURSE I made an order with you ... and Geoffrey looked at my phone and he looked at the e-mail and said, "You made your order with our other Wilmington store not this one." Now, at many stores and businesses that might have been the end of the story. I would have been told that since I paid online that I would have to drive the extra 25 miles to pick up my wine at the store where I HAD MADE THE ORDER. This was not their fault ... this was not their problem but Geoffrey and his co-worker then proceeded to print out my wine order.... He said, "I think we have all of these. Do you mind waiting while I go pick up your wine?" Wait, do I mind that YOU GEOFFREY are willing to go and get the bottles I ordered online at another store for me? When I smiled, he gave me a phone number at the store where I had ordered my wine and said to call the number to cancel my order with them. I need to point out that when I arrived at the counter to pick up my wine Geoffrey was obviously on break. So, I guess you are realizing that this young man's service alone was worth more than a five-star rating!!! I don't know if the technology allows it but perhaps there should be a warning when they have stores relatively close to one another for the consumer to check which store they are making the purchase with (The person answering the phone at the other Wilmington store said that if he had a nickel for every shopped who ordered online from Wilmington but went to Claymont that he could retire. Believe me, I was happy to hear that I wasn't the first one.). Obviously, stores selling wine cannot have every wine produced in the world in their collections, but Total Wine offers bargain basement prices all the way up to bottles that require people like me to mortgage our homes to sample a bottle. For this location for $20 you will be educated for a two hour class walking through the history of bourbons, wines, tequila, cocktails and enjoy them while you learn. The biggest takeaway that I have learned is how to enjoy the sips of harder items. DON'T INHALE WHILE YOU SIP. If you hold you breath while you sip you will not get that burn that we all get constantly traumatized about. MINDBLOWN! But other than that life changing process you will understand how the different items are created, where, how and what makes them unique as you See, Swirl, Smell and Sip! Sometimes the classes can run over and I would opt to have it start at 7pm rather than 6:30pm for those that are coming from other parts of the State or working later in the evening. When I first walked in yesterday I wasn't sure what was going on. All of the previous wine aisles (opposite the check out lines) were completely closed off and boarded up. We wandered to the back where the beer and spirits used to be. What we discovered was a whole new Total Wine AND MORE taking shape. The beer section has been relocated and expanded. In the middle of it is now an entire display of charcuterie. Yes, I could have called it a cheese display but this set up required the use of it's fancy French name. Everything has been redone and way in the back (opposite the spirit aisles) is what looks to be the makings of a....I almost dare not say it....a BAR!!! As if all that exciting newness wasn't enough there is still the front of the store I mentioned earlier that has yet to be unveiled. I took a peek around the sides and I'm pretty sure I saw a table and chairs. Long story short, this is my favorite store to come to to stock up on wine or alcohol for special occasions specifically. Staff are always there to answer your questions or help. This store is so huge inside to the average lover of wine and alchohol, this is like the Toys R Us to us all when were little kids. Your eyes will light up with joy. While they are a major chain, this is the largest location I have ever been to. They have renovated and expanded their space, almost doubling its original size! If you're a true wine lover, this is place for you as wine covers over half the store. However, I keep going back here for their beer stocks. They have all the craft beer that I could dream of. They carry all the major brands, and most of the independents that distribute nationally. I can usually find at least one or two types from brands that are difficult to find more locally. My only gripe with this place is how crowded and tight the parking lot can get, which is exasperated by ongoing construction to the exterior of their building. It's a nightmare..and the wawa hasn't helped. On this particular day, a Friday...a Friday before New Year's Eve...I was pleasantly surprised about how quickly I got in and out of the parking lot. The store itself wasn't super busy, either. There were plenty of staff around to assist and also to check people out (which was refreshing). I didn't have to stand in line. I walked right up, got carded and checked out. The person helping me did start to have a personal conversation with another employee but I jumped in so it didn't bother me. Lol. My husband said the box she put everything in was a bad choice. I didn't notice when I put it in the car but when he came out to bring it into the house, he noticed. There are people giving out samples of wine and beer, etc. throughout the store. Their vodka section is now up to a double sided aisle! More vodkas then you'll ever see in your life! I have already visited six different Total Wine locations in NJ, NY, VA, AZ and most recently the two locations in DE. This was my first time here at this location. When I visited their smaller Midtown Shopping Center store in Wilmington an acquaintance of mine recommended I should visit their larger Claymont, Delaware store. I was driving home from New York, therefore, I decided to stop by their Claymont store. It was very easy to access the store after exiting off of I95 southbound. This was my first time here. I am glad I stopped here, because this is the largest Total Wine I have ever visited. They had the widest selection of wine, spirits, beer, cigars and related accessories I have ever seen. This may be the largest Total Wine in the United States. I used my 20% off 12 Direct wine bottles discount. My 20% discount was $55 off the $275, therefore, my net cost was only $220. I will definitely return here again if I am traveling through Wilmington, Delaware on I95. Claymont is about 15 minutes north of Wilmington. read more

Great selection of wine, spirits and beer. For wine, the store is remarkably well organized, and they have employees ready to help you find your desired section. If you like, say, rieslings from Alsace, there's a section for that with plenty of options and with tags that describe the flavor profiles of the options. It makes finding the right wine easy. The spirits and beer sections don't exceed the competition as much as the wine, but the selections are still very good. The employees are fairly knowledgeable, too. First of all it was an adventure just trying to wedge into the parking lot without being run over by cars flying into and out of spaces. Walking from the car to the store was the next gauntlet! No easy task. But I must say I have never seen more people in one store in my life! It was chaos. Bedlam. The store is big. My son loves to shop there. Once was enough for me. They had several wine tastings going on which was nice and we found most of what we were looking for that trip. The store however was trashed and lots of bins were empty. The staff was scurrying to restock but those shoppers were like a hoard of locusts. It was an experience. I will just say liquor shoppers in Delaware mean business. We had the most amazing fun at a private wine tasting class featuring Italian wines! Our facilitator, Brock, was very knowledgeable, fun, and chill and cool. He and Darlene who helped pour went out of their way for everything we needed. The classroom looked amazing and we all had a glorious time and learned tons without it being too technical, even though we were all at different levels with some of us, never doing a wine tasting, and some of us in the industry. He introduced me to several vermentinos plus some other options that he thought that I would enjoy. He also directed me to some very economical choices. Probably my favorite store that sells wine and spirits. The first time I came I told the guy I was looking for quality champagne and he literally gave me a complete run down of quality champagnes and a history lesson I really appreciated it and was satisfied with my purchase. The second time I came I encountered more helpful staff, I feel like they really care about making sure that you feel like you are making the right purchase. Although the parking lot gets packed, they have a majority of the lines open and the store is huge so you can social distance and won't have to be in line for too long. The pretty much have everything you could need as it relates to alcohol, even accessories. I'm very dissatisfied with my recent shopping experience. The employees were playing a game of 'compare and redirect' in every isle. Every big name I picked, they redirected me to another brand that was "as good but less expensive'". I didn't go for it with the champagne because o have some good knowledge of French wines. I did try it for my 'Cinco de Mayo' tequila and they got me good. 'Creamy and smooth' they said. Nothing of the sort. It's no wonder they can afford to hire so may people when every other business is cutting back so drastically. Emmett is a candy addict, and he will frequently shell out $20 or more at a candy shop, but he never experienced that proverbial "kid in a candy store" feeling until he walked these heavenly isles. This extensive wine super store is filled with row after row of grape intoxicants of all types and from most continents, with ton's of in depth descriptions, wine spectator ratings, and cards pointing out staffers favorites, as well as knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to help employees who are on hand at almost every turn. Inebriating fun doesn't end with Total Wine's vast supply of the nectar of the gods, because they sport quite the healthy supply of hard stuff as well; I'd underestimate the spirits section at TW&M to be twice the size of the biggest Philadelphia state store. They also carry a good bit-o-beer here, but a beer distributor it is not, however, for tax free purchasing, I can sacrifice the eclectic selections of elsewhere to go with some cheaper and more main stream suds here (and besides, their "small" selection is still quite varied). This reviewer's humble opinion is that nothing in the Garden or Keystone states can come close to this store in volume and value (though, I guess the Jersey Total Wine stores match the volume, being sister stores and all). Other note worthy things about my favorite store on the east coast: -- There is a large humidor styled room filled with fatty and fragrant cigars -- They frequently have wine, beer, and liquor tastings/ instructional classes, most often on Friday and Saturdays, but other days as well. -- They offer a "mix your six" deal for beer -- Save your bottles: Delaware has a refundable fee added onto each glass container, and if you drink like this fish, those refunds will start to add up. -- Crossing state lines with alcohol is a no-no: when you purchase your booze in bulk, you may want to consider shooting a little farther along Naamans road to the Target or Home Depot for more tax free shopping, but really to throw the authorities off your trail; we've all heard the horror stories about second cousins and friends of coworkers being stopped on their way back up 95.... read more
