I was genuinely overwhelmed at the selection as it's been some time since I've been here. Now that I think about it I haven't been here since they moved locations. Anyways, the selection here is large and I doubt anything you're looking for isn't going to be here. I sat a budget of $500 and was a little over Multiple associates asked me if I needed help and pointed me in the right direction. Cashier was very friendly and signed me up for a free membership. This place would not sell to me because I was with my brother who didn't have id as people are walking in with their children. I provided valid id, was carrying liquor i was buying for myself, and I was paying for everything. They still told me that because he is not able to show id they could not sell to me despite him not buying anything. This was a waste of a trip. read more

I've been coming here for years. I love this place! Customer service is excellent, the employees are so friendly and helpful. I've bought cheap beer to expensive champagne here. I love that they carry local wines which is one of my go-to's. There's plenty of bar-ware and accessories to chose from as well. Another added bonus is their cigar selection. Summary: The National Archives of Alcohol I came here at the recommendation of a family member, but I didn't quite know what to expect. The store was massive. In what is close to the size of a Costco or Walmart, sits one of the most impressive collections of alcohol I have ever seen and it is all for sale. For my bourbon drinkers, they had no less than four barrel picks. I grabbed a bottle of Russel's Reserve Single Barrel Barrel Select (a mouthful, I know). I am not a big beer or wine drinker, but they appeared to have a bountiful selection of these beverages as well. The bad: My only complaint would be price. Just tried the pick-up option that Total Wine offers today and the process was seamless. I ordered online and scheduled a pick-up for 6-8pm. I was surprised when I received an email around 4pm saying that my order was ready. I arrived around 6:30 and parked in one of the numbered spaces designated for pick-up orders. I then went into my email and selected the option that said "I'm at the store" and provided the number for my parking spot. Within five minutes, the gentleman was at my car with my order. After checking my identification, he placed my order into my trunk and I was off. Any process made easier through COVID is a huge plus. I will definitely use the pick-up service again. read more

I made it back here after being treated rudely many years ago. Saw that a few years ago they moved down to a larger spot on the same strip mall. Much better in terms of parking and people flow. They have a lot more going on in terms of "gifts" to enhance libations and make you or your host happy! A large array of bar tools, fancy glassware, themed items such as for a luau and gift-boxed liquors. More imports which is my main reason for shopping here. But what I really like about this new location is their saturation of employees throughout the store willing and able to help you find exactly what you need so you can use your time efficiently. Found great selections in the vodka, rum, liqueurs, and wines. However, they are very poor in selection and amount of product in port wines. Very low and sparse in that department. They also need to beef up their foreign beer dept. as I never find my favorite German nor Scottish beers in stock. Check out is a breeze, and every cashier so far has been friendly and helpful. What I like about this chain is that it does have quite a large vertical selection across a range of beverage types (from beer and wine through to hard liquor). This location does a LOT of business with its relative proximity to Meade. The ability to order online is a nice touch befitting a chain of this size. Expertise across the staff varies. I asked two different people about options for White Burgundy and got answers ranging from "We don't have that," to "Hmm...not a high volume item for us (since it is pretty pricey). This was my first time at the Laurel location. The store is huge and they seem to have a great selection at reasonable prices. I liked their local wine aisle the best, simply because I recognized some of the wines from the festivals I've been to throughout the DMV. I just wish it was a tad bigger. I went during the early afternoon hours and it seemed a little too busy. There were a lot of staff standing around doing nothing but talking to each other and getting in the way. I don't think I heard one hello or offer of assistance while I was there. In fact, one of the associates seemed to "follow" my son, but stopped when he saw me. Total wine does have a variety of items. And location is convenient. They are a bit on the pricey side. But I am rating this specific Laurel, MD store a 3 because of a particular practice of locking moderately priced items that they presumed are desired by certain groups of people. They make you wait to unlock and have to take the walk of shame to the register with the unlocking store associate. On June14, I went there to purchase some local MD beers, a bottle of whisky and a couple of cigars. When I entered the cigar area I noticed the $12 Padrons were under lock. There were way more expensive cigars that were not locked. I asked one of the store associates to unlock, she stated I had to tell her which one before she can unlock the glass, and she had to grab the items for me and walk me to the front. This practice is not only discriminatory but also shameful. read more

PROS: * Incredible selection, and the space means you get a much broader pantheon to choose from. Special attention paid to wine, craft beers, even cider. * Prices are reasonable for many items. Some are lower than I get at my mom & pop location. * Location is pretty convenient at the intersection of 198 and the BW Parkway. * Knowledgeable staff who are ready and eager to help. The wine crew at least was pretty sharp. (Someone sent me to the wrong isle for cider, but you could tell that wasn't their area of expertise). CONS: * Not enough attention is paid to the liquors, and many sections suffer incredibly at the lack of variety. My particular favorite, Bourbon, seems to have a rather lacking selection for a store of this size. * And the prices for same are not nearly as reasonable as you might hope. Their high priced mark-ups are just that: very highly marked up. Even there the selection is not as good as it could be. OVERALL: My cider yen was very well satiated, so I will definitely be back for some favorites that I can't really find elsewhere. The same is true for their wines. Although I prefer my store organized by region, the sales team was very knowledgeable and could spot what I was searching for with relative ease. I will probably stick to my old haunts for liquor, though. It's not really worth it for the price and selection. I've lived in the area for over a year and only recently endeavored to walk into this location. Rum. Rum is my official reason for stopping in, and rum cake is why people I know won't judge me for walking in on Thanksgiving Eve at 5p. It was sooooooo packed. And honestly, I would have u-turned out the door if I hadn't been stopped by a vendor to try boozy iced coffee. Yeah, I was reeled in and indeed made the purchase. There were vendors on the ends of every isle and tastings at each one. I'm pretty sure had I stayed a bit longer... Isles were filled to capacity with customers and at lease two employees guiding customers future customers. I immediately realized the presence of employees when a random customers very loudly exclaimed, "Where is the Everclear!" I was horrified. Employees appeared out of nowhere (ends of the isle) to quiet the customer down. After, the younger employee asked, "Everclear?" I shook my head. The older employee schooled us both, "Everclear is used to make bulk alcoholic drinks. (Eyes moving from side to side) ...OK. Overall good experience. Quick lines. 100% ID check. And expect to purchase something you didn't anticipate. read more

Stopped in on a Saturday and it was a mad house! Tons of craft beers, wines, and liquor though... since we wanted Georgian wine, we looked for help to find it but every staff member we saw was busy helping other people. We eventually found what we were looking for, but it took awhile. They also carry some cheeses, meats, and even smoked salmon but check the expiration dates. The Amish cheese had sell by dates that were almost a month old. :( Long checkout lines but they moved quickly. Good prices on everything we saw, and lots of gadgets for sale too. read more

We drove an hour to come check this store out. They had everything from snacks to every kinds of alcoholic beverages, to gifts!!! This store was a whole package deal. I could come here to snag a wine for gift, wine bag, and a greeting card. So it was a good stop with everything that is associated with it. We found the limited edition artist Hennessy hidden in the back which was a great gem. Associates are okay-we had hard time flagging down someone to come open the cabinet for us. We asked the cashier whom she said that someone is coming but several associates kept walking by and and seemingly avoiding eye contacts. Pros: Great selection wine and spirits. Significant section of beer by the bottle, make your own six pack. Large accessory department, nearly everything you need for your bar. Cons: Although they have such a vast selection, it seems the wines that I want are always out of stock. They only reorder out of stock items if you buy a case. Order online for in-store pickup and it doesn't allow you to uncheck the box for vintage change. I drove all the way to Laurel, MD to pickup a specific wine that I ordered online and they did a vintage change from 2015 to 2014. I was a bit frustrated that happened due to the 1 hour and 45 minute drive round trip, but next time I guess I will call to make sure that it's the correct vintage. I opened one bottle and it was awful so I ended up returning the other bottle. read more

This place is EPIC. My introduction to this place is a funny story. So, my parents purchase spirits in bulk only one to three times a year. For the big ones, they usually order online, so when they go to pick their bottles they are already all together in one place. They were going to do that, but I offered to go and seek out the bottles because I had never been. Since my friend was with me, we figured it would be a fun adventure. So, off we went to Laurel! It is a MASSIVE store... like the size of Giant or Safeway, except there is no food and all spirits! We were just looking around at all the bottles. Racks on racks on RACKS of bottles! There are many aisles and the spirit types are all quite visibly labeled so it's not so simple to get lost. In addition to that, all of the bottles are in alphabetical order, so finding everything I needed to find was surprisingly easy! We got our bearings and got to work. If I ever had any questions, the staff always seemed quite knowledgeable and would check in the back for any bottles I couldn't find if they were labeled as out of stock. Another cool thing about this place is the fact that they have.... *drum roll*... TASTINGS! I have never partook because this is a good 30 minute drive for me. They have the times for their tastings posted so you can stay informed. The checkout process has never been a hassle... on my first trip I had sooooo many bottles, but there was no issue getting boxes for them and making them easy to transport outside. Another thing worth mentioning is that there's a 10% discount on cases (12 bottles). One time, there were only 9 bottles of a particular wine, so I used a very similar and equally priced wine to take place of the missing 3 bottles, and they were generous enough to give the 10% discount anyway. I was very thankful for that. The discount is nice, but it's not all that necessary since their prices are quite reasonable and competitive. read more

This location has a very large selection of wine and spirits - plus some hard to find wines. The prices are decent and the shelves are stocked regularly. The customer service has always been pretty hit or miss so it helps to know what you're looking for when you go in. They move things around often so sometimes you have to ask an associate for assistance. The customer service was much better prior to the pandemic; lately the customer service has been less than stellar. I went in today (Monday) around 1:30 pm to find a local wine I sampled at Wine in the Woods. The gentleman at the customer service desk was the least bit thrilled to help but when I asked how he was his response was reciprocal. I asked if they carried a specific wine from a local Baltimore winery and he said "no." Didn't ask me if there was anything else I was looking for or offer suggestions on what they carried that may be similar. So I decided to grab a few of my go-to wines. Several workers walked past without even saying as much as "hello." When I got to the register I asked the cashier if they carried any wines from this particular Baltimore winery and she said she didn't know. So I stepped out of line (I was at the first register next to the customer service desk) and went to ask the female manager who was standing there but she was on the phone. She didn't respond to me but when I saw she was on the phone I gave a hand wave to motion "sorry - didn't see you were on the phone." She completely ignored me so I got back in line and let the cashier Dymond finish ringing me up. Dymond stepped over to ask the manager about the winery I was inquiring about once she got off the phone and the manager was so short and rude to her! I wanted to offer her some Midol and a Snickers bar! Maybe they call was bad but the rude attitude was uncalled for. I completed my purchase and thanked Dymond because she was the most pleasant and professional person I came in contact with. I work in a 98% female dominated industry. That said I am rarely bothered by individuals who are having an off day - especially women. We all have bad days. But when you choose to work with the public it is imperative that the staff is consistently pleasant and approachable at all times. This enhances the customer's shopping experience. I'm convinced repeat customers only shop here because they have a nice selection of wine and spirits - not for the customer service. I drive quite a distance to shop here and appreciate that they almost always have my favorite wines in stock. I hope the staff gets some training and the customer service improves soon. I always have a pleasant experience when I come to this location. The staff are knowledgeable and always helpful. The last time I came here, one of the associates helped me to try something new and it has now become one of my favorite drinks. It is also organized and typically has everything I need. I decided to leave a review after my experience today for a specific reason. Due to COVID, we all know that we need masks. I happened to forget mine in the car. I believe it was a manager who came and asked if I had a mask. I hadn't even realized I didn't have mine on. When I told them, they were very kind about it and gave me a mask. I came here looking for a few bottles of wine today so I figured I'd be in and out. I was wrong. I decided to walk around the whole store as I was in amazement as soon as I walked in. I love that when you walk in you see Wine Spectator highly rated wines. I don't know much about wine as far as brands go so this was very helpful. The price points were all over the place which is nice. This store has a special section of wine (high priced), aisles sorted by varietal/country/area of country, etc. so the store is easy to navigate. If you're looking for small batch Bourbon or hard to find Scotch, look no further than here. The price points are a little higher than some stores in Columbia, but the wine/liquor stores in Columbia suck. This store also has a huge humidor if you're a cigar smoker. There is also a large selection of beer but its too bad there isn't an IPA section as I love IPA's. I wasn't in the mood to roam around looking for IPA's so I'll probably skip this store if I'm looking for beer but this is my go to store in the area for wine going forward. read more

10 minutes remaining--can we make it? Of Course! My friend and I had a hankering for cider so we moseyed on down to Total Wine & More. We knew we didn't have much time so we asked a staff member for the cider aisle; once there, we had a hard time deciding which one to get. We also didn't want to get a six pack of the same thing so we asked someone else if they had singles--they are more expensive when you buy them a la carte but that's okay as we wanted a variety. We were still trying to build our own six-pack when another staff member approached us and asked if we needed help. We said yes and she made some suggestions--she also mentioned that the store was closing soon and the registers will shut down. It was nice that she didn't immediately tell us that the store is closing. After building our six-pack, we made a beeline for the register and got out with just a minute to spare. Because we were on a bit of the time crunch, we didn't have time to explore the other aisle--that will have to wait for another visit. The staff was very helpful, the cashier was okay--nothing memorable and the cider selection was quite vast. I really like this place and I look forward to my next visit. P.S. Booze mecca. This place is basically a well run, clean and organized warehouse full of every kind of truth serum you can get your little, grubby hands on. Their selection of wines is most impressive. Organized by varietal, they've got just about everything you can imagine, with a vast range in prices as well. While the majority of the store is dominated by this *grape*selection of wines, about one third of the store is filled with beer - and plenty of obscure ones as well. I was on a mission when I dropped by today, but I'd imagine that I could spend a good hour here easily each visit reading up and checking out wines I've never heard of or seen before. In fact, if I lived a little closer, I would probably buy a new wine upon each visit. Corridor Wine also hosts tasting every Saturday afternoon and their knowledgeable staff is present to teach you all you need to know about food and wine pairings. And while I'm on the subject of their staff, can I just mention how phenomenal they are?! I waltzed in here with no clue of where to start and within minutes I was guided towards options that were well suited for what I was looking for. The young man that helped me was extremely knowledgeable, efficient, down to earth and had swept me off to check out as soon as I felt comfortable with my selections. They even carried everything out to my car for me and did so with outstanding attitudes. For service alone, this was a 5 star experience. The fact that this may be the largest selection of wine, beer and spirits that I have seen around the area so far, only further brings legitimacy to this 5 star rating. He pointed me to two great wines, but didn't have seems to wanna help. Left right away after asking me what I wanted. Someone did ask if I wanted to wine taste with a great attitude! My first review of 2015! Where has the time gone! Total Wine & More, and the name says it all. BTW "More" is: Beer and Liquor. A vast selection of the likes. They got the liquor lock down ON FLEEK! For some reason, when I was driving up to this place, I thought it was gonna have like a whacky inflatable flailing arm tube man. Ya know, like Al Harringtons Whacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Men Emporium And Warehouse. But, there was really no cheesiness. It was just a grocery store, but take away all the food, and replace it with alcohol (Also known as heaven). I've been there a couple of times now. One time I had asked a woman working in the spirits section what I would need for egg nog. She was super knowledgeable about holiday cocktails and liquor. It's like she had her PHD in booze. She helped me find a 1 bottle solution for what could definitely be a much more complex drink. The second time I went back there, she was in the same section and was able to point me quickly and kindly to the Johnny Walker rainbow. All store associates are friendly. I love that they have airplane bottles of some unique liquors so that you can try them out. If you're in the area, it's definitely worth a trip to get stocked up. Prices are very competitive and (I'm not sure if they have this all the time... but) there was a deal when I was there that if you bought a case of the same thing, you got 10 percent off. Very disappointing that you create an order for a mixed case of wine so you can take advantage of a case discount. They have an item out of stock. You are informed the next day, the day of pickup. Now you lost your discount, you lost a bottle (fewer than the original order), and you pay more. To top it off, there's no way to change your online order to add a bottle so you can secure your discount. And there are other problems with this business as well. read more
