Stopped by here during a recent outing to Wichita. I usually shop at a store across town that I am familiar with.... However, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Lots to choose from and some really obscure brews on the shelf. Staff were very friendly and helpful in locating some wine that I was after. Did not encounter any wait at the checkout. I am very disappointed. I have spent thousands of dollars here and they have generally been very good. They've messed up here lately.Today I put in an order for six bottles of wine for a party and I was informed that there was only five. I put it on the card for today. They sent me a message and said the order was ready and I didn't really look at the bottles of wine closely it very closely. They came out with two bottles of wine! I suppose places OK if you just want a bottle or so. But if you're trying to plan for a party, go somewhere else. They have become very unreliable. update: after looking at the bottles of wine that they gave me closely they baited and switched the vintage. When I called she tried to give me some bullshit about how they don't always know. If I can see the date on the wine bottle, they should be able to see the date on the wine bottle. This place is ginormous! It's very clean and very well-organized. They have a vast selection of wines, vodka, bourbon, whiskey, beer- you name it, they have it! They also have a whole section of bar accessories that every bartender needs and an impressive selection of import beers. The place also features a pretty cool tasting room. I'm really trying to make you my number one store. But twice now, I've gone in, and there's been only two registers open, even at peak times of the day. I watched tonight as four employees looked over at the lines with worried looks on their faces, and then all four proceeded to walk off to the back of the store. Screw that, my time is as valuable as yours. If I'm going to have to wait 10 minutes to check out, I'll start going back to the local places. It might help if you train your cashiers to speed up a touch. They act like they are bored out of their minds, and slowly... Slowly... Slowly... ring up the items. Let's go, we've got things to do. So I'm lowering to three stars. I will continue to go only here, and watch how you handle the lines. If it doesn't change, I'm lowering it even further. Went in to buy items and had stuff in my cart. My husband and I went to check out, and I presented my physical ID. My husband only had a picture of his due to not having his wallet. The lady refused to check us out. Wouldn't even let me buy the items in the cart that were non alcoholic like the drink measuring tool and glasses. This is a game changer for Wichita. Huge selection, great prices, and a very friendly staff. Tasting tables open Fridays and Saturdays are greatly appreciated, as trying before you buy is key. You can always ask for a sample on other days (they may or may not open a certain bottle depending on how much they have on hand). Purchased a pack of six small cigars to smoke at the Super Bowl watch event. I and three of my friends tried to smoke them. We literally could not draw air through them. I don't know if they were packed too tightly or just really old but it was not a fun experience. I took the remaining three and the pack back to the store to let them know of the issue. The person I spoke with told me that because the controlled product had been used, he could in no way address the issue. He was completely unconcerned about having sold and continuing to sell product that is either old or defective. I understand not returning the cigars because some had been smoked and state law but I would highly recommend getting your cigars from another establishment. One that would be concerned about selling old or defective products. read more
