Rented a ground thawing unit yesterday. The first one they couldn't get running, so they hooked up the second one. We set it up at home and it ran for a while, then it quit and wouldn't start again. Called the "emergency" after hours number and left 3 messages. We never got a return call. When we finally talked to Mike Huston from Totem this morning, he sounded irritated to be bothered. So we're out $350, 24 hours +, the hoses are now frozen to the ground, and the equipment and people we had brought out to help us dig up our non-functional septic which was supposed to be thawed by this unit are now sitting there, not fixing our septic. We have been without toilets, running water, showers, clean dishes, or clean clothes for over a week now, and there's no relief in sight.
