This was my first experience at a head spa and didn't know what to expect. My treatment started a little late and ended a little early. I think I actually received a total of 75 mins total. I get deep tissue massages regularly and I'm telling you, she was using way too much pressure. I did request less pressure but I have a tender spot on my head the following day. It feels like I hit my head on something. The water was much hotter than I expected (I thought hot water dries out your hair). She said my hair is thin yet I could feel her brushing too hard and my hair breaking while she was brushing out the knots . Towards the end, while waiting for a friend to finish up... the lady I had came over and stared at us; visibly annoyed and then told us she's the last worker and she's trying to close up. I can't speak to the other workers, but the lady working in 5/16 at 6pm in the green hat... she was awful. Her attitude, eagerness to leave work, and her tone made me uncomfortable. It was so bad, I honestly suspect this business bought their reviews. I will not be returning. read more

Had an appointment at 7pm, but was not taken in until 7:30pm. I booked a 60min head massage, but my session ended at 8:10pm, so I only got 40 mins. The lady was clearly rushing through my appointment because she was the last one there and want to close up and leave. She was also extremely rough with the massaging, to the point where it was painful. I was left with bruising along my neck on both sides, please see my photo which shows some of the bruising that goes all the way up along my neck. I came here for a scalp treatment massage and overall had a nice experience--the space was clean and I felt refreshed afterward. However, the neck massage part was way too aggressive. I kept pulling away and flinching, but the pressure continued before finally stopping (total time was about 30 seconds, so I didn't have time to say stop). When I got home, my neck was sore and I noticed a large bruise, which was disappointing. I get massages often and know what firm pressure feels like versus being too rough, and this definitely felt more on the rough side. I think she was using some sort of tool. Everything else was good, but I think the staff could benefit from adjusting their technique for the neck area so the experience is relaxing rather than painful. Apparently I don't even wash my hair right, you could see all the nasty leftover conditioner on my scalp clogging up the pores during the in-depth scalp analysis in the beginning. Procedure:The experience began with changing into a top robe and providing a hot compress eye mask before the hair specialist used a scalp analysis device to examine my hair follicles from the front, sides, and back. It was fascinating to see the images on the screen as the specialist explained the condition of my scalp and hair in detail, along with some helpful recommendations. My hair was then cleansed three times using a combination of shampoos and herbal tonics. This was followed by a deeply relaxing neck and shoulder massage using moisturizers, with a focus on acupressure points and deep tissue techniques. I'd suggest letting the therapist know if the pressure feels too intense or if the water is too hot. I like how they were very receptive to feedback. One of my favorite parts was the gentle rinsing of my hair and ears using specialized massage techniques. The treatment concluded with an offer for a cup of herbal tea, a gentle blow-dry, and the application of toner and frequency therapy. At the end, the scalp analysis device showed visible improvement. Concerns going in:Hair loss, a few grey hairs, and stiff shoulders. My hair and scalp before treatment:I have straight, fine hair. The specialist noted my scalp was healthy, though my hair tends to be oily. Immediate results:My hair felt noticeably softer and lighter after clearing away excess oil and buildup. My neck and shoulders also felt incredibly relaxed.
