This is just a stones throw away from Portsmouth's historic dockyard and spinnaker tower so no prizes for guessing which attractions feature prominently in the leaflets available from here. I've lived in Pompey previously so though I know some of the usual tourist traps it was useful to visit this place and find out about a few of the more obscure places to visit. They have details about a range of attractions which you can visit for free - such as the museum and butterfly house by the golf course / boating lake. If you are a tourist in Portsmouth this is conveniently located by two of the big tourist attractions. The staff are knowledgable and helpful. read more

I preferred it when Tourist information was located at Commercial Road opposite the Station, and have only popped into it in it's present location a couple of times. That said as I'm from thre city I can't really say how accessible visitors from outside the city will find it (especially if the historic dockyard isn't on their itinerary! The staff were helpful on my visits, and I think that is probably the most important aspect of any Tourist Information centre. read more
