The menu was very limited, mainly consisting of plates of food which consisted of many items, I don't like this approach as it meant that if you were not too hungry, and just wanted a sandwich, you had to order a whole tray of food, including drinks, the food is priced reasonable, but considering you are unable to order the items individually, it does work out a little pricey if you're not interested in ordering the whole "brunch". I was told they would be unable to make individual items or modify toppings. The seating was limited, and due to being busy, I was placed in the outdoor seating area, which was in a rather uncomfortable garden chair, on a street in a residential area, so it wasn't the most welcoming area either. I went for the American brunch, which came to 22€. Again, I was disappointed with the quality of my food and drink, the orange juice tasted cheap and watered down, while the bread also was poor, even for gluten-free bread, it didn't hold together and fell apart in my hands while I tried to eat my sandwich, which you wouldn't expect from a specialist bakery. The staff seemed friendly enough, and with our basic knowledge of each other's languages, they seemed to try their best to help, with me using a Translate app, It wasn't the waitress's fault for the inability to modify dishes, she seemed to be trying to do her best to help when the kitchen wouldn't budge. The potatoes were greasy, and I didn't understand why they would include watermelon on the same plate. The desserts were just okay, my guest ended up enjoying hers, and my pistachio-based cupcake (I'm not sure of the exact name) was moist and did taste quite good, perhaps they should go back to the basics and stick to the desserts. 2*

Great food with a beautiful view!…read more Ascona is absolutely beautiful and this restaurant sits on one of the prettiest streets I've seen that overlooks the entire lake and mountains and it's a beautiful sight to see. During the day you can sit outside in the mornings or afternoons and share a cup of coffee or nice glass of wine and just enjoy the sun shining over the lake and the peace and tranquility and beauty of Switzerland from this great restaurant. At night the restaurant lights are dimmed low and the dinner is enjoyed by glow of candlelight. It makes for a wonderfully romantic evening. The wine list is pretty extensive and they also have a nice selection of Ticinese wines that you cannot find outside of Switzerland. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and our server was happy to go over the wine list with us and made some excellent recommendations for local wines to try. They have a pretty good extensive menu for food as well, they have everything from pizza to salads to pasta and grilled shrimp and everything is pretty affordable especially for being in Switzerland. One of the best dishes I had was the mushroom risotto it was very very good and full of flavor. It was also nice that you could order the smaller or larger portion size which is always a great option for groups who like to share and try several plates. I highly recommend trying some of their deserts they are all very good as well. They had some deserts on the menu that I've never had anywhere else before and some I've never even heard of so we decided to try them since our server recommended them so highly and said they were some of the restaurants specialties and they were all very unique and very very good. Overall it's a great place, if you're in the area and looking for a nice place to enjoy the view and get some great food I highly recommend checking this place out morning or night you will not be disappointed!

It's difficult to judge a Chinese buffet in Italy, because there are very little competitions and…read morefrankly, you're in Milan! But it's easy because I'm a former Chinese buffet expert so I can break it down to you: there are some good items here, many average ones, and some really horrific. Good ones to try: large shrimp, beef, or anything that is from the grill area. Their fried rice was above average (but don't fill up on that since you'll get full really quickly). Seafood salad (by the salad bar), pineapple (in season) and stir-fry shrimp were also good. Average: everything else, minus the horrific ones below. Horrific: sushi (not as fresh/cold as I'd like), any of the dim sum items, stir-fry section (not to be confused with the grilled section, which you don't choose sauce), teriyaki chicken (overcooked), spare ribs (overcooked) Having said that, $20 euro per person isn't that bad, considering the variety of things you can get. Pro tip: even if you put 6-7 large shrimp on your plate (from the grilling section), they will only bring you 3-4. So separate them into multiple plates with something random (example: if you want 7 shrimp, put 3 + slice of beef on 1 plate, and 4 + slice of chicken on another plate). Pro tip 2: gelato is $1 more
