Lookout Point is one of a few lookout spots you can stop at when you drive on North Rim Drive (a one-way drive). Just heads up, the parking lot isn't very large. If you continue on with your drive on North Rim Drive, you will eventually end up in Canyon Village. If you want to make an adventure of your stop here, I suggest hiking the North Rim Trail east to Inspiration Point and enjoy the beautiful views along the way. There is also a paved path and some wooden steps below that take you down to a viewing platform called Red Rock Point. This will give you a close full view of Lower Falls. Lookout Point was one of my favorite spots to stop at on the North Rim. I highly recommend checking it out.

You can go to the brink of the lower falls to see the top of the waterfall, but this lookout overlooks the entire thing which I think is better. Another underrated view is the red rocks view which is right next to this lookout point. Instead of going straight to the lookout you go down the stairs, walk a bit and then get to the red rocks view which is a bit closer to the waterfall and more eye-level. There are also fewer people here so you'll have more time to take nice pictures and videos without the crowds.

It looks like you're on some…read moreother planet, where the surface of the ground turns liquid every so often and drips like candle wax down terraces to make pools and stalagmites throughout the side of a hill on Yellowstone. I don't know how you could possibly give these hot springs anything less than five stars. When I came, the north entrance was sealed off due to flooding, making this a bit more challenging to access, from the interior of the park. It's located right next to a village that has a general store, lodging (which was closed) and a post office with some administrative offices. There's elk in here! I saw some real close up! Restrooms are iffy with these vault toilets, with no running water. If you gotta have that, head into the General Store. This is an easy place to check out with a car, you can see a lot of it from just cruising the trail that goes through here, which takes you past some of the best hot springs.

There's a small parking area below, then a slight uphill jaunt to get to the base of the tree. It's been fenced in to protect it from would-be vandals who would delight in carving their initials into the wood. Jerks have to ruin it for the rest of us. Anyway, go pay homage to the tree. Or don't. It's not life changing.

You have to take a road off the main road in the north part of the park to a lesser known spot where the ancient tree is tucked away surrounded by a metal fence. It might be a redwood tree or even a sequoia tree that hardened naturally into what is called a "petrified tree". It isn't scared of course.

The weather was sunny, which made the colors of the canyon look even more vibrant and stunning. The waterfalls flowing through the canyon make the whole view feel unreal. There are several viewpoints and each one gives a different perspective, so it's worth taking your time and stopping at a few of them. Pictures really don't capture how massive and beautiful this place is in person. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Yellowstone.

It was a really cool experience and a must when visiting Yellowstone. I know when my family came this way when I was a child, while most others got to see it, I wasn't feeling well so my mom and I hadn't gotten a chance that trip to come to Old Faithful. I'm glad I was finally able to see it in its full glory. It is quite crowded, so when it comes to pictures just try to stay aware of your surroundings. Try to stay out of main pathways as well as being conscious of the fact it's practically impossible to get photos without others in the background and you'll probably end up in some photos too. If you're already here, don't skip past this well known spot, it's a fun experience for sure. The park is big so if you want to see it all I can see it taking days, especially since the fastest you can go is 40-45 miles an hour with a lot of areas actually being closer to 25. Both my husband and I were so glad we stopped by.

There's a massive parking lot and some paved walkways to get to the viewing area-very accessible to all. Signs outside will indicate the next anticipated eruption time-which are usually pretty accurate, hence the name. It's a fun experience-gathering with a bunch of other excited strangers, watching and waiting for Mother Nature to burp. As people are waiting, they are taking each other's pictures for them, asking where everyone is from and inquiring about the wildlife sightings experienced that day. It's community building. The actual eruption lasts just a few minutes, but is worth seeing at least one. And who knows? Maybe you'll make a new friend while you wait.

I came here at around 6:30pm and there were a good amount of people but there were still a good amount of parking spots available. Most of what you'll see here are just springs and nice rock formations with varying colors. There are walkways to different parts of the terrace and you'll be able to see some mountains in the backgrounds of some of these. There are amenities in the general area like lodging, gas if you need to fill up, restrooms, and even the Mammoth Post Office. Also, when you drive through Mammoth you might even see tons of wildlife just roaming around the streets!

It's about 1.5 miles round trip. It's not difficult, however there's a small area that is a little steep. We experienced the springs in cloudy/ gloomy day and the next day, very sunny and warm weather. Both experiences were amazing and unique.

From my understanding, the view from overhead trial is much better than then the boardwalk itself.
