Pizza was great, cheese quesadilla was good as was the burrito. We did a carry out and they forgot the side of fries and the pretzel we ordered but we were too tired to go back. I'm sure they would have fixed it but we didn't bother telling them or checking our order before we left. We were just too tired from driving all night. That's on us. The person in our group that got the lime chicken salad wasn't impressed with the size, the lack of toppings or the taste of the chicken. Had a group of 28 for a planned dinner tonight. Space was quickly arranged and a single waitress started with our orders. She was efficient, polite and handled the complex billing and orders perfectly. Probably the best waitress performance with this high density of orders I have ever seen!! It is hard for me to review this restaurant. On one hand this is the best pizza I have had since moving back to Quincy. Unfortunately the service was pitiful. I ordered at 5pm and I finally called at 7 wondering where my pizza was. They told me they had no way to reach me. Well, not my fault. They had the wrong phone number. Not everyone has a 217 number just because they live here! They also had the wrong address. I clearly told them the address but they used a totally different non existent street. The lady said they would remake it and send it right out. Well it still took over and hour for it to get here and it was ice cold. I suspect it is the first pizza they had made that they just sent out. I now am of two minds. I loved the pizza but I don't know if I will order from them again. We waited and waited to be seated. I finally saw a girl who was at the host station. I asked her if we could set it in the bar area. She just looked at me like I didn't exist. Another couple came in behind us at that point. I asked the hostess again that we have 2 can we set in the bar. She again looked at me like I was crazy and IGNORED me. The couple that was waiting to be seated behind us said, "ohh, you want to set in the bar just go seat yourself," so we did. After we sat OUR SELF, the same hostess sat the people behind us in line at the table behind us in the bar area. I was very disappointed as I visited there often and I took my boyfriend there as his 1st time. The service was great, and so was the food,he really enjoyed the pizza and the atmosphere. Well, I have been gravely disappointed in a Quincy staple. Sigh. I really have enjoyed food from here in the past, but quality has slipped and service was inexperienced tonight. We ordered the Philly Cheese steak, cheeseburgers, and seasoned fries. The meal was delivered after an hour. The delivery guy was very nice, and thus why I tipped him. We opened our food to find no seasoned fries, and in its place soggy crinkle cut fries. I was urged to call in to ask for a correction. She was apathetic at best. I'm sure she must be tired, but after spending that amount for dinner, I hope to be treated like a valuable customer, and not an inconvenience. She offered the following: We could bring seasoned fries by to EXCHANGE them, or we could send season packets. The way that was offered to us made us feel like an inconvenience. I would rather not. I told her "we'd just deal, I guess." (Plus the thought of the delivery guy having to drive all the way back... Not cool, and a gas waster) You know times change, and I'm sad to see this place offer us mediocre treatment. I realize you are busy, your reputation is substantial, the other related restaurants are excellent. You made me sad today. I seriously cannot get enough of this place when I'm in Quincy. I never miss an opportunity for a Jeff's Special pizza, and I often freeze and take half-baked pizzas back to Wisconsin with me. Sometimes my Mom will buy them 2-for-1 on Tuesdays and freeze them for me to pick up during our visits. Don't miss the Mexican menu, though, either. Every dish has been excellent and their guacamole is delicious. Sometimes I order Mexican to eat right away and take my half-baked pizzas to go. This way I get my Tower fix from both menus! My in-laws live in Quincy and when we visit from Champaign, a stop at Tower is ALWAYS a must. We always get the Jeff Special (an awesome pizza) and queso and chips. I just love them both! The pizza crust and sauce are awesome. They are generous with their toppings, too. A pitcher of margaritas really helps everything go down! ;) I've read the other reviews about the service. Yeah, it's been kind of hit or miss for us, too (hence the reason for only 4 stars). There is one waitress that I see every time we go there. Apparently she's been there for a really long time. I am always happier when we get to sit in her section. She's awesome. Some of the other college-age waitresses have not been excellent. Go early. Every time we go on a weekend there is a huge wait.
