Was in town visiting family when the tire pressure light came on in my uncle's car. A quick search on google led me to Town Fair Tire where I had quick and professional service. The employee at the desk took my information then came out to the car to get the mileage and VIN before instructing me to pull the car around to the garage where a mechanic was waiting for me. I recently had an appointment at this location to have new tires put on my car, a blue 2014 Hyundai Elantra Coupe, in addition to having them balanced and aligned. Every Town Fair Tire experience I had in the past has been positive until now; upon this appointment I noticed one of the staff was unnecessarily revving the engine and driving my car recklessly-aggressively through the parking lot into the garage. Due to a recall, my engine was recently replaced and has less than 1000 miles on it. The dealership informed me that I should be driving it carefully and not let the RPMs go above 4000, which one of the technicians here clearly did. When I mentioned it to the person at the counter, he told me that the tech said the throttle was sticky. Clearly this is not the case. I am highly disappointed in the treatment of my vehicle and me as a longtime customer. read more

I can't say enough about the service I received today at Town Fair. I came in at around 830 am with a tire that kept losing air. I also arrived without an appointment. I was greeted by a super helpful and pleasant gentleman who quickly checked me in and said they would text when it was ready - or call if there was more than a minor repair required. A few hours later and $13 later I was good to go. Uber-ed back and checked out quickly on my lunch hour. EDIT 12-18-17: I want to add an additional comment about my below review. After returning with my car, the store manager and other employees were very apologetic about the mistake, and my car was promptly handled - even though it was close to closing time. The mechanic also brought the car right to me, to make sure I was happy with the work. In addition, the regional store manager contacted me personally to apologize for the error. While I was left soured by the initial experience, I greatly appreciate Town Fair stepping up and admitting mistakes were made, and working to make them right. A lesser shop could have written me off as a customer, but they went out of their way to apologize. To them, I say thank you! ---- Went there for a Snow Tire changeover, got talked into adding an alignment on top of it. Picked up the car two hours later (I had made an appointment) ... got all the way home before I realized they NEVER CHANGED THE TIRES. The young man, Jose, explained very clearly where exactly where I could find it online, but instead took the time to place my order over the phone. I chose an early appt. Wednesday at 9:30 am. I just left that store. Bad customer service, I have never been so poorly served in my life. Totally unprepared employees! I made an appointment on Thursday for Saturday 16/01 at 12:30. They can't find my name and said that because I don't have my name it would take me all day to change my car tires. Only I had the confirmation email and showed it to the unprepared person who was attending to me. With an unwillingness he managed to find my name by phone number. After that he went to check my car and came with the famous scam of that store. "We don't have the tire" and the "tire size of the order is not that of your car". I told the unprepared that I made the note on the website and followed all the steps step by step putting the information about my car and so the website gives me the tire value. I've had tires repaired, purchased tires, had them rotated and have had an alignment. The service was stellar every single time. Of course you may have to wait, but no worries they have a comfortable waiting area or you can go get lost in Big Y. Now back to the FREE. They offer the following services for free: 1. Mounting 2. Rotation (every 5000 miles) 3. Snow Tire Changeover 4. Flat Repair I don't know of any business that offer free services with a smile. BRAVO! When you do have to pay, they will do their best to help you shop for the correct safe product that won't damage your pocket. Let's be real, usually we wait too long to go to the tire place. The Hawley Lane store is run by Randy Springer who happens to be one of the best if not the best senior store manager within the chain. Not impressed!! New to CT. Referred to get tires, alignment here. Dealt with Michael. Not nice. Not professional. A very crabby, miserable person who shouldn't be in customer service. Got 4 new tires... My car's back end needs work so both tires wore badly within 2 months. Got a flat on back passenger tire, went back to Town Tire, they put another tire on my cracked rim (noone noticed) aligned my car and sent us on our way. I began driving down the Merritt Pkwy and within 3 miles, I get a flat!! I call Michael to let him know that I'm sitting on the Merritt with a flat on the brand new tire that I purchased ($148 - one tire!) less than a half hour before. Nothing! "Well mam, if you can bring tire here, we can look at it" I'm stuck on the Merritt Michael with a flat on the tire I just purchased from you ten minutes ago!! Never a "oh, I'm sorry" or something like this. Nope. Says come back with tire. We do so. Michael says he owes us a new tire being that his guys place a brand new tire on a bad rim. Perfect. We go back with good rim (with a flat) to replace with new (free) tire. This is where the fun begins. Micheal, from jump, is rude to me. No smile, no cooperation, no good service. My husband and I wait over an hour and half to get one tire placed on a rim. He charges us $22 for labor to place tire on rim. Didn't we pay labor for the tire that was placed on bad, cracked rim? Wouldn't it be good customer service to do without any fee being the only reason I'm here again is bc you all place tire on bad rim? I went there to do a quick job to check why a single tire keeps loosing pressure. No appointment, i just walked into the store around 1pm. I told the guy i will wait since this kind of job never took more than an hour previously at all other locations i have went to before years ago. At 4pm i went to the register to find out what the status on my car. I patiently waited for 15 min at the register for the guy to finish with the customer he had so i could ask. The guy that checked me in earlier came to the register grabbed one of the new customers and then walked back to the office without bothering to see if i needed help. I was standing at the register, it was obvious i was waiting for someone to see what question i had. When the guy at the register finished checking out the customer, he simply took the papers and also started to walk away. i guess something crossed his mind and he turned back to ask if i needed something. I told him that i have been waiting for 3 hours now and wanted to check on my car. He asked if i was by appointment and i of course i said no. His reply was a laugh at me, smirk and few words "it's probably why" as he walked away. This is beyond believe that someone would be so rude to a customer. Besides the fact that if they didn't want to work on a walk in customer, the first guy should have said so in the first place instead of having me waste 4 hours at the place just to leave frustrated. And if they were so busy to take care of the walk in customer because they are fully booked with appointments, again that should have been said at the beginning before i wasted 4 hours sitting there. They got the tire in less then 24 hrs. When I arrived to have the service done they were so kind and helpful. I work across the street and thought my right left tire was low - possibly a leak from picking up a nail or screw - so I stopped in here just before 5pm on Monday 1/13/20. I didn't want to drive 20 miles up Route 8 to go home and have an issue on the highway. And I mentioned this. The 2 associates working behind the counter were just watching TV - I had to say something to them before they acknowledged me when I walked in. I told them why I stopped in and asked if someone could just look at my tire. No, I have to drop it off and it would be 2-3 hours. Well, this location closes at 6pm so that would have been impossible. Plus, assuming these 2 knew anything about tires, I'm surprised one of them didn't offer to 'look at it quickly'. I do understand about the need to make an appointment, but, I've done this before at this location, a couple years back, and didn't have an issue with a 'quick look'. Not these days.
