The corner of Railroad Ave and Washington St is crazy - 3 (yes, 3) convenience stores, and the only reason why there aren't 4 is because there is a parking lot on the other corner. If those stores didn't need the parking, there would probably be a store there. But Quick Stop would still be the best... nice man and woman seem to own and/or run it (husband and wife, perhaps?), they always seem to be open, and they are incredibly friendly. And unlike the shady convenience store diagonally across the street, when you walk in, you don't have to walk through 5 townies outside who are smoking before they go inside to wait for the next Keno game. Lottery players are a big customer base here, I suppose, but all your basics are here too, as are the best prices on Diet Coke (my personal vice). Go on in and you won't regret it!

I've been shopping at this country market for many years. Within the past few years, the area has started to build up with drug stores that carry that sort of thing at a fraction of the price. The owner used to be seen at the register about half of the time, but not so much anymore. The staff has always been very friendly to me and exerts a great sense of humor. Sometimes has signs on the counter that read "$25 Minimum For Credit Card Purchase". I don't like when places try to avoid credit card fees and making this more complicated for the modern customer. Isn't this illegal? Being the local liquor store, its selection is a bit lacking. This could be because I am now used to shopping at liquor stores in the city that have a much higher selection than what is needed in this small town. Stolichnaya Razberi is not sold here. Dekuyper Peach Tree, not available. It seems to carry the basics, but nothing too fancy. Baldies Pizza opened up in the back of this place and has a great menu. The staff back here is very nice and the food is to-die-for!

Next thing I know, the clerk (an Indian/Middle Eastern woman) is chasing me, running down the street, verbally abusing me, and accusing me of stealing a beer, which I never did. I proceeded to tell her that she was mistaken and that she was judging me, and perhaps being racist. She walked away in defiance, saying, "don't steal from me," which I never even thought of doing. This establishment is racist, judgemental, and verbally abusive to their inquiring customers for literally no other reason than the simple fact that they harbor hatred, injustice and are confused about the status quo of their local Allstonians who have lived here for 20+ years. Don't even go in.
