Headquarters Salon is closer to me, has friendly people, does a great job with trends, and has virtual sign up for appointments. They offer a lot more services, but I haven't tried them yet.

I went in to have my roots done ( gray) and told Alyssa I wanted it all blond, not gray. I picked…read moreup a chunck of the hair that was blond and said this is the color I want it. Simple right? She did not say anything. So she put a color on and left the room for an hour. The color was getting darker so I was worried. She finally came back and checked it in the back. She said she would be back in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later she came back and it was much darker. it was literally brown. I told her it was not what I wanted. She charges me 100.00 for the cut and color. My hair looks awful. She told me she put 9 B on it and it was the lightest color they had. She said to have it lighter she would have had to bleach it. I'm OK with bleach. When I pointed out the color my hair was and what I wanted she kept blaming me. I asked for the owner. She told me the owner can't fix it. I have to fix it as we are all independent. She said she would be in later, then changed it to tomorrow. This was all preventable. She did not pay attention to what I said I wanted. Everyone makes mistakes, but she kept blaming me. This is not the way to run a business. I have an event at my house on Sunday. I do not like the way I look at all. It's pretty upsetting.

However, I returned text sent to me, from stylists, as asked, and no one ever responded to reschedule. I think perhaps it's a case of ableism and/ or ageism because it happened right after I filled out my profile. It's just too coincidental. I mean, they could've offered a different stylist or if unable to complete the appointment they could've let me know. But I was just left hanging. Again, I really think this is either ableism or ageism or both because this happened right after I finished my profile. This was a big leap on my part because I'm changing from a stylist that I've had for many years I did a lot of research to try to find the right stylist or what I thought would be the right And I don't think people fully understand at times the challenges of other people and what they're going through. They. Should.Gotten. Back. To Me. That is just good business. :-( It's frustrating because I put in a lot of time researching salons in the area. I had REALLY been looking forward to trying a new stylist. Very frustrating. :(

Im giving this Smart Style Salon a 0. And it's not the employees that is getting this rating…read morebecause Destiny. Who is the stylist a bunch of us from work went to was phenomenal! And I think it's pretty dirty that this company just blindsided these employees at the Dublin VA location and had them thinking the store was going to be remodeled when in actuality they closed the store! This is wrong and not how a business should be ran. Did the company ever consider it's not just the employees affected but their families too?! Now they have to find another job. This is outrageous!
