With all the Red Tag Sales going on, I strongly recommend that customers ask for the reference number when they submit your application to Toyota Financial Services (1-866-224-0090). That number can protect you from situations like mine. Here's what happened. I was interested in getting the Toyota loyalty discount through Toyota Financial Services. I discussed it with the sales team and clearly told Jimmy about it. We signed the paperwork and were asked to wait in the lounge around 8:00 PM. Later we were called back and told the "good news" that everything was ready for signing. My wife asked about the interest rate, and the response was "we'll deal with it later." That already felt strange. Then I asked Jimmy if I got approved for the Toyota loyalty program. His response was: "YOU ARE DENIED at Toyota Credit." He said we were instead approved through Scotiabank. We felt disappointed but were also excited about the car, so we went ahead and signed the papers. On Monday, I called Toyota Financial Services directly. They told me that as long as my information hadn't changed significantly, my profile should still be good. They also said if I could provide the reference number, they could explain the decision. Wednesday I called the dealership and asked them to look into it. Thursday they submitted another application to Toyota Financial Services. Friday I got approved -- with a LOWER interest rate. So I called the finance director to express my disappointment. That's when I found out something shocking: the Toyota Financial Services office closes at 6:00 PM. Remember when we were sitting in the dealership at 8:00 PM and Jimmy told me my application was DENIED? That was impossible. My application was never denied. The status was simply waiting for assessment. Jimmy -- when I asked you directly and you told me "YOU ARE DENIED at Toyota Finance," do you feel proud about lying just to push the deal through? The difference in the interest rate over 72 months is about $3,000. For the dealership it's nothing. For the customer, it's thousands of dollars extra out of their pocket. My advice to everyone: Always ask for your application reference number and call Toyota Financial Services yourself. From my experience, it usually takes about a day to process an application. If you get "approved" within minutes but not through Toyota, you should seriously question what's going on. read more

I highly recommend this Toyota dealership. **UPDATE** February 2025 - My first service department visit was an absolute gong show of nobody giving a darn! A huge pass the buck from the service valet, to the service receptionist, and eventually service manager. I had to get the sales manager involved for them to follow the FACTORY RECOMMENDATIONS in the car owners manual. (Oil change) The service manager also talked down to me like I was a child trying to rationalize why an oil change wasnt covered. It became evident she was clueless when she said that the factory recommendation in the owners manual was wrong! (Refused to change oil even though the manual recommends it from factory) She eventually said they'd do the oil change after realizing how clueless she sounded. And the service valet interrupting & arguing with me on my way to my car after service was a classless touch. The ENTIRE service department needs revamping! Buyer beware. Product may be good but service on my FIRST VISIT was abysmal. I have never been treated this poorly in my life! I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Northwest Toyota Edmonton. Their customer service is terrible. No one answers the phone in the parts department, and I was transferred there multiple times without any response. Despite leaving messages for days, no one returned my calls. When I spoke to the front desk person, she said she walked over and told them she was transferring me, but still nothing happened. I asked to speak to the general manager and was told he was there and would call me back, but I never received a call. I even sent an email, only to be informed that all managers were away at a conference. Lukasz Kopec, who claimed to really want to help, turned out to be in sales and said he couldn't assist me. He forwarded my emails, but I never heard back from anyone. Clearly, since I'm looking to buy a car right now, no one at Northwest Toyota Edmonton seems to care about helping potential customers. I signed a contract with Toyota Northwest Edmonton (14240 137 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5L 5H7) TWO YEARS AGO, leaving a $500 down payment for a car that was supposedly "on order." Over the course of two years, I repeatedly contacted the dealership for updates. Every time, I was told the car was still on its way, but I was given no clear answers or timeline. In 2024, I was told the car would arrive in June, then July, then August, and finally sometime between September 8 and 18, 2024. When I called to get the VIN number so I could arrange insurance, I spoke with Jon Ip, one of the sales managers. Instead of offering assistance, Jon was extremely rude and dismissive. When I expressed my excitement to finally receive the car, he sarcastically asked if I was "complaining." He informed me there was no VIN number yet. Frustrated, I decided to visit the dealership in person on Friday, September 6 to speak directly with Jonathan Ip (Jon). I waited a long time, but he did not make himself available. After waiting with no response, I left the dealership and requested a call back. To this day, I have not heard from anyone. I tried escalating the issue by speaking with another sales manager, hoping for a better outcome, but that didn't help. No one returned my calls after I left multiple messages. After a week of frustration, Jon finally answered and told me he didn't have to sell me the car at all. He also said he'd refund my deposit--after TWO YEARS of waiting! Then, without any explanation, he hung up on me. I have still not received the refund, and it's been days of checking my credit card for it. Looking for well educated salesperson that knows product/vehicles being sold inside out. If not, a timely response when obtained. General manager made me feel that my constant return for a brand new vehicle were not worthy of any kind of consideration. Dealing with Toyota Canada was another situation where many communications back and forth, time away from work and nothing for my time. Was told that my time is all that was lost. Went in looking for a RAV4 and was very clear about my biweekly payment. They were very pushy and they took my I.D. And would not let me leave until I gave a deposit on a Ford Fusion. They hastily ran a credit check and in turn negatively affected my credit score. For the sole reason of just wanting to leave I gave a deposit and made them guarantee they would refund me when I asked. Went back a few days later and was very clear I had an appointment and they still wasted my time. I'm a new car owner and only 17 years old, I came to get a key fob installed into my car. I ended up waiting for over 2 hours for them to do nothing to my car. I ended up paying $80 for nothing and no explanation for why they didn't do it. I went back yesterday for them to explain what happened and the licensed mechanic told me a new apprentice was the one working on my car last time i was here, and that he found the issue in 5 minutes. I wasted my time here many times and I will never go back, I didn't even want to go back yesterday but my parents dragged me over there to find the problem. I paid an inexperienced apprentice full price for them to do nothing when the next time I went back, the real mechanic told me the exact problem in 5 minutes. Atrocious treatment!!! (Ignore the FAKE positive reviews on Google!) We had a minor accident on Saturday so we called to book an appointment to replace the tire. They said NO PROBLEM! We went in on Monday and my husband sat there for nearly 2 hours...waiting and waiting. Finally - 20 minutes after 6:00PM they came to tell him that they have to order a tire in and can't do anything. He can just drive his car with the donut at 60kmh. Um...He has to drive on the Whitemud where you can't go 60kmh! He came home and took MY car and they said they should have a tire by Wednesday. A voicemail was left and he can't get in touch with the person who called. So Thursday comes along. Same thing. He left a message to say I will be able to come ANYTIME! I need my car. Thursday night - can't get in touch with anyone! I have needed MY car for the past 4 days and they did not offer him any service loaner. Finally - 4 days later they told him that they can't fix the tire today. We have to wait ANOTHER day to get the tire done. Why the hell would you tell us to come in on Monday to get a tire replaced - when you didn't have the damn tire in stock! We bought the car from you a few months ago and you have our information on file! Why not check your stock and say "Hey, we need to order that in. We can have it here for you on Tuesday or Wednesday!" Disgusting customer service. We will NEVER be dealing with this dealership again! An absolute joke of a dealership and general sales manager. I went in to this dealership with a very clear budget and desired payment plan that I presented to the sales team immediately. This is not my first time purchasing a vehicle and I made it very clear I was there to make a deal and give them my business BUT we didn't want the run around. I gave exact numbers-- this is the biweekly amount I can afford over this amount of time. Period. They began by offering me about 1/6th of the current value of my vehicle for trade in; again, this is not my first time buying a vehicle, I'm aware they will always attempt to low ball, but the amount they offered was absolutely absurd, even coming from a low-rated car dealership such as this one. When I said no deal, I was sent from staff member to staff member to endure a never ending gauntlet of bullshit excuses about why they could only offer me so much for my trade in, and why their "bottom dollar deal" on the vehicle I wanted was about $15000 more than I had set as my maximum. No one attempted to even pretend to give me a better deal or work with me, just to justify their profit (as if I don't understand how sales work). After two hours of this run around, I asked if they were going to be able to give me what I asked for, because I was done playing games. They said they weren't able to on this vehicle, so I thanked them for their time and tried to leave. As I'm walking out the door, I hear the classic "NO WAIT!!" And am asked to stay and told that they can magically now drop their bottom dollar to what I've asked for. Great-- we're in business. I come back to talk about the deal and am now passed off to the real root of the issue: the ever so charming and charismatic sales manager, Luke. Luke proceeds to start over on the bullshit from before and, even though I've only agreed to proceed with this sale because they've literally begged me to and told me they could give me what I want, begins to back track on everything his sales team has told me and go back to trying to sell to me at the much higher price. I state at this point that, as I've just said, I am no longer interested in discussing that deal, and I would like to know if he is offering me the deal I've asked for, because if not, I would like to leave. Well it was then that I learned that not only is Luke surely the owner of a "worlds worst boss" mug (that he thinks was given in jest but absolutely wasn't), but he is also something of a world champion dodgeball player as the continual running around, dodging and deflecting my questions, and raw aggression that took place in the next five minutes were truly astounding. Luke proceeded to tell me that they.... A car dealership.... Don't "need" to make sales, and that he could either help me or we could "part ways". I never wanted to join ways with him in the first place and I highly suggest no one opt to of their own free will, because when I stated for probably the 15th time in ten minutes that I was not interested in the deal he was offering, he stood up and announced his departure with an extremely mature "GOOD. Every time that I bring my car here for maintenance they say my car needs this and that and I have a relatively new car- 2017. I got a Toyota because Toyota is good quality, but looks like it's not. The last thing that happened was that they called me telling me that my water pump was broken. I paid $918, but they charged me $646 just for labor. I am not sure if it was true about the damage because there were not any signs of broken water pump before. I am scared to bring my car back there again because they invent packages and damages that may not be true. I am done paying $1000-$2000 all the time just for maintenance. Not recommended. This is the first time I had come to this dealership for service. I've read a lot of reviews on here and thought I would describe my experience. It is a long read, so please read until the end. I have a 2020 vehicle that is about 6 months old and it was displaying that service needed to be done. I did not know that Toyota now recommends servicing for a brand new vehicle, just to look it over. This service was about $40. There is no error code on a OBD Scanner, so I was unable to clear the 'Service Maintenance Required' when starting the vehicle. So, I brought the vehicle in to get the 'look to see if everything is ok' service done. I received the call, after a few hours, that the service is done. As I went to get the keys and pay, I was informed that my vehicle was checked, fluid levels topped up and the air pressure in the tires were also topped up. This concerned me because I have 'nitrogen' filled tires. For someone who doesn't know, nitrogen tires must only be filled with nitrogen and NOT air. When I was told that, I definitely was concerned with the integrity of this dealership, as it seemed to me that they did not do what they said they did to the vehicle. After paying and getting inside my vehicle, I noticed that my dashcam was unplugged. Now this is a huge privacy and security violation, as it appears that the technicians and/or workers, have no regard for personal/private property of its customers. I called and spoke to a employee to ask why the dashcam was unplugged, once the employee got back from speaking with the manager, they stated that it was for privacy reasons. So does the privacy and security of the customers not matter as well? Have other people's property been tampered with as well? I have been going to many dealerships and mechanics in the past and this is the first time this has ever happened to me. What is even more alarming is that during COVID times, you would thinking it would be mandatory for everyone to wear a mask. Well, when I arrived home, I looked at whatever video footage I had before the dashcam was disconnected, and the technician who entered my vehicle did not have a mask on and even COUGHED in the car. Within the span of 30 seconds, the Toyota dealership was able to violate three things: employee not wearing a mask inside a customer's vehicle, coughing inside a customer's vehicle while not wearing a mask and touching and unplugging a customer's personal property. Also not mentioning the fact that they may not have done any service on the vehicle at all. This experience and review is not to get anyone in trouble, but more to educate and inform the public of my experience and what you may expect if you are planning to service your vehicle here. What happened to me is unacceptable and also a huge red flag for customer's health and safety, especially in these times. As of right now, I am giving this location one star. I hope this location can improve the service to its customers by improving communication within, safer health and safety standards and overall show more integrity. Thank you for reading. Super trash dealership! i booked my self in for an interior ultimate package clean and they still left stains on my seats, dust buildup in the compartments and in between seats and they never even touched my dash board. What a waste of my day. Oh and not to mention, normally if you buy a car from a dealership, they give you a proper functioning key with it . The key fob they gave me was broken and taped! He called 2 months after the order has been placed only to find that the vehicle has not even been ordered. The dealership claims that it fell through the cracks and are unwilling to give him a loaner untill the vehicle comes in. He has sold his car and has twins dew in a couple of weeks. I leased a 2019 Toyota Tacoma through Toyota Northwest Edmonton. The Truck itself is great I love it! Everyone does. The dealership is not great though. First they transferred my loan to another financial institution without telling me and somehow gave them access to withdraw money form my account without my permission which took me two hours over the ph to try and figure out what was going on. I got the extended warranty and was led to believe that included chips and windshield cracks only to find out that it didn't and would 800.00$ to fix. And everytime I go in to for my regular service I ask if they could give it a quick wash but they always refuse... Great customer service eh? Okay, so I bought a used 2012 Toyota Rav4 from here in September of 2017. Great experience for the purchasing of it. In fact all reviews that are positive of this place deal with how great the getting a vehicle is. It's their service department that seriously sucks. 1st Issue: Bought the car in Fall of 2017. Within a few days one of the dashboard lights wasn't working. (How would I know?! Nobody test drives at night.) So I had to bring it in. Within a month of getting that fixed, my driver side speaker suddenly stopped. 2nd Issue: Last Sunday morning I got in the car and started driving, noticing quickly that the front passenger tire was flat. Parked it as soon as I could and got it towed to the dealership. The next day they called me and said that they could fix it, but I'll have to pay for it. Knowing that they would try something like this, I brought all of my paperwork and argued saying that I've got coverage. After getting forwarded to people who were either away for the day or gone for lunch, I eventually escalated the call and spoke to a service manager who confirmed, within a minute that I did indeed have coverage. (I'm convinced that front-line service staff are trained to fleece clients for $$$ despite the clients having coverage.) So I talk to someone else about getting the tire repaired/replaced and they said that they don't have the tire in stock so I have to wait until the following day. I go on the following day and pick up the car. As soon as I get in the car and drive it home, the engine light is on, TRAC Off light is on, and the 4WD light is on. So now I'm not sure what they did to my car. It all seems way too coincidental for something electrical like this to happen again. So I've now given up believing anything their service staff tells me. From now on I'm taking my car elsewhere. read more

My experience with Northwest Toyota started off great with the sales manager Jonathan, but as soon as I hit finance it went downhill. First the overall price was incorrect along with interest rate. Elizabeth had to leave and straighten it out with Ryan. She came back to say that the interest rate couldn't be corrected now because the bank was closed. She said I couldn't have the vehicle because they couldn't give me a bill of sale. I needed the vehicle because I booked it in for paint protection to be put on at detailing shop the next morning. She left again to talk to Ryan (both times gone a long time, I might add) and said they would give me a dealership plate. This was my second visit to them over the same sale and thought everything would be completed, but instead had to return a third time. When I returned the following evening she had the duration wrong on the contract and had to correct that. No apology from her and no incentive to return to them for future business, after their errors. They could have thrown a couple maintenance visits in or something, but nothing was offered, except a whole lot of inconvenience. Very disappointed. read more

We were told our purchase agreement wasn't obtainable. Why we asked? Well, apparently sales and finance hadn't had a meeting in awhile and the interest rate we were offered was not available at this time. Fair, sales isn't finance so its not their job to know. But it was WAY off. So my husband and I decided to walk on our deal. The finance department miraculously made our deal work again...? Weird. We ended up purchasing. They threw in an undercoating service for cheap so we took that as well. We also ended up purchasing winter tires & rims through them. (After searching different dealerships/tire shops THOROUGHLY) Fast forward a week 1/2. Get the call our tires and rims are in. Sweet! Service department can't find our agreement with sales about the undercoating. What the hell? UGH! After playing phone tag for a day (Because let me tell you, noone is EVER available or returns their messages at this dealership) Service department finally "finds" the agreement...weird? Was it never finished and sent down? Who isn't doing their job? Anyway. Make the appointment for undercoat and tires (quoted 6 hours for time frame). We ask for courtesy car. No. They said they can shuttle us. Ok. My husband is military and CANNOT be late for work. They tell us shuttle starts at 7:30am, we say okay (husband must be there for 7:50 and we live about 15 minutes away). Husband was there at 7:58 am because the driver drove so slowly. Whatever! They call me at home at about 11 am, saying there was a scratch in one of the rims (UGH!!). Give me our "options" of 1) Send the single rim back, wait for the possibility of ordering a new one 2) Paint the scratch. But will take two -three days for drying time. Sweet. I tell them I don't accept either of those options we NEED winter tires NOW (we were suppose to go away for the weekend). The representative I was speaking with forwards me to the service manager. Who then treats me like i'm an idiot. I got the vibe it was because I am a woman (little does he know, with being a military spouse I deal with literally EVERYTHING in our household because 3/4 of the time my husband isn't even home!). We come to an agreement where we get the rims put on (with the scratch) and they comp. us the price of 1 wheel, and balancing for all tires. Sweet. THEN they take it for a test drive, to discover that the 17" rims and tires rub on our breaks!!! After being originally told that Toyota's standard (And the ones suggested for our vehicle) are 17"!! BEYOND FRUSTRATED! Weekend plans to see family/cancelled. Feeling like I could cry from rage, the service associate says they can order us an 18" rim to be in stock 5 days from now. After all that BS about the rims in the first place. I feel so sick from anger I just want to scream. Incredibly unprofessional establishment. Would NOT recommend to anyone. With that being said. Toyota on the trail was SOO much worse (Also tried to purchase with them before we decided to go with TNW) We ended up leaving because we were treated so poorly. After dealing with the GM for Toyota Northwest Edmonton, we now feel way better about interacting with the dealership. He was very apologetic, and seemed very genuine. He heard my concerns, and treated me with respect. I greatly appreciate it. read more

If could give this dealership a 0 i would! We were in town for the week and saw a used vehicle that caught our eye, called in asking the dealership about it. We were told by Lamar that the car was still at the lot and that it was still for sale. We are driving a long way to get there and half way there Ian calls and says the car we are going down to see was actually sold yesterday and that the car is being readied for pickup later that evening. Disappointed and about to head home Lamar calls us back saying the car isn't sold but rather its "pending" and we could come down to see it and other vehicles similar to it. We arrive there and he tells us that actually the car is now "for sure" sold, but they have other models similar to it that we can check out. We drove 40min for a car that was already sold so hell why not. PS: At this point we are already mad for wasting our time and being lied to about a car that isn't available anymore.The other similar models had a couple dents and things (small asethetic damage) but still drove well. Same price same model but double the milage. Ian comes by and says this car isn't advertised correctly and its actually a lower model....... well now we are thinking wtf... a lower model with double the milage and more knicks and dents than the other model for a few hundred dollar difference. WTF... After coming back from a successful test drive we are considering buying the lower model car. Ian comes by and says he understands that the vehicle in question is a lower model and recognizes the differences of standard quality between the vehicle now shown to us and the one we drove down for originally. He shoots us a reasonable but fair offer for the car and we accept. Lamar goes to talk to the manager and leaves us hanging for 25min or more only for Ian to be surprised to find out we are still waiting about the proposed offer. Ian tells us saying the manager doesn't wanna budge on the price. Its either that listed full price on the car or no deal basically. We are now furious and pissed off at ALL the wasted time and are now told that the car isn't going to be negotiated fairly for its price despite its false advertisement AND the athesetic damage on the car despite the sales record, and the double milage. They wanted to "make things right with us" but in the end kept us waiting, lied to us about the cars, falsely advertised, wasted our time needlessly, and pissed us off. We just walked out and left no hassle no fuss. Seriously not worth anyone's time. read more

Probably the worst customer service I've ever had. My friend had just recently bought a car from here and had great service, everything was great. So I decide to get a car from this same dealership. So I find the car I want, go to finance, get everything ready. All good right? So I get the car and go to connect my Bluetooth, and it doesn't work. So I call about it and they said, no big deal, just bring it back and they'll fix it. Easy peasy. So I bring it to them, they tell me they've gotta order a part for it and it's going to take 2 weeks. Again, inconvenient but not a big deal. They also tell me that since my friend referred me to them he's going to get a referral cheque in the mail. So I give them his information and they say it'll be there by the end of the week. So two weeks goes by. No cheque no part. So I call about it. Nobody had any idea that I was supposed to even get a cheque. So I go in. I asked about the part and about the cheque. They can't find the order for the part or anything to do with the cheque. So I call my salesman. No answer. Just great. So the next day I go back, and he's there. He tells me that the part is already in and has been for a week. But nobody apparently thought to call me to let me know. He also said he forgot about the cheque and will put it in the mail the next day. Can't just give it to me while I'm there though. So anyways, I make an appointment to get the part replaced, I'm told they'll supply me with a loaner and detail my car inside and out, and fill the tank. I didn't get a loaner, it was not detailed and I did not get a full tank. So by the time that this is all done I still don't have the referral cheque. So I call my sales man again and he tells me I can come pick it up at the end of the week. So the end of the week comes around, no call. I go into the dealership and he went on fricking vacation!! Couldn't be bothered to get me the fucking cheque before he left. The lady at the reception desk went and got her boss to cut me one right then and there cause she could tell I was absolutely livid. We waited over a month for this and I never once was able to talk to a manager, they didn't follow through with anything they promised me. Do not go here, they don't care about they're customers. Do not, under any circumstances, ever go to this place. If I could give them 0 stars I would. Their service department has brutal customer service and is horribly over priced for bad mechanics. I torched the starter in my 2007 Tundra and only got it towed to this place because they gave me a "hard quote" for $700, even after I warned them that it had over 400,000km, but they told me that that wasn't a problem and the price would not go up. The next morning they called me and forced me to pay $75 to confirm it was the starter, and then a half an hour later they called me back and told me there was rusted out bolts and it was going to cost $1400; again, after I warned them about the mileage. I didn't have much choice but to pay for it and get it fixed, however they fried my radio in the process and told me off saying "you can't prove it so that's not our problem" when I asked them to fix it. My 2014 Toyota Highlander needs a computer update as radio and GPS reboots occasionally on its own. My dealer in Wetaskiwin offered to do the update for free, even though I am a few months past warranty but under in kms, however, I live in St Albert and thought if a more local dealer would match, then I would give them all my future business. So I went to Toyota Northwest Edmonton and told the Service Experience Manager my situation. Without much hesitation he said no but rather than charge $90 for the 1.5 hour job, he would do it for $75. A whooping discount of $15. So I walked out and called Toyota City in Wetaskiwin and asked if they did not honor their free fix and I had to pay for the update, how much would it cost and how long would it take. I was told 30 minutes and about $50. So not only do "cars cost less in Wetaskiwin", so does the charge for a software update, if I had to pay for it. By kudos to Toyota City for doing what they do. It will not cost me for the update. I guess the locals guys have enough business they don't have to compete. Off to Wetaskiwin I go. read more
