I don't have any kids and actually having kids or being around kids is the furthest thing from my mind, But, I also didn't expect my work mates to be so bloody boring. We can't go out and party EVERY night. Sometimes we have to stay put and be on call so to speak. Desperate for some entertainment, (I can't understand Italian, so no point in turning on the television) I went after the one game that just about anyone can enjoy-Rumikub. So I wondered around the Duomo area in search of a toy store and stumbled upon Nano Bleu. My Italian is horrible but the staff was really friendly. They spoke just enough English that we could hack through the conversation about Rumikub. Luck was with me that day! They had it. But more importantly, the store is very lovely. The shelves are made from wood with rounded corners. That detail doesn't seem important until you are experiencing it. Everything is in its place. They have a giant collection of stuffed animals. It actually made me feel like a kid again. The staff is great. The place is lovely. I might go back for a stuffed animal!

Trouble is, this shop is Carlo's hobby as he works elsewhere during the week, so he can only open his shop on Saturdays. If you happen to be in town during weekends, do try to pay him a visit and ask him to show you his Xyloba tunes. He is truly young at heart.

Good selection of games, toys, books and activities for babies through retired. Mostly education related. Astronomy, nature, medicine, insects, gardening, hiking, science, camping, geology, and home. They also always have birthday cards, batteries, very friendly staff, consistent hours, free gift wrapping, and while they only have Italian books, most of the products have instructions in multiple languages. Also I think you can check online to get an example of what they carry, but their physical store has a bigger selection. Just some random examples of what they have- mini zen gardens, bird houses, build your own dinosaur or robot, picnic sets, telescopes, kids metal detector, incense, lava lamps, herb garden kits, foldable portable hammocks, pocket knives, travel monopoly, city maps for kids, etc Also it's not cheap and they don't often have sales but the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the items.

Quite honestly, the quality of the dress doesn't justify the price. I understand disney brand is pricey, but NOT that pricey! It is a heaven for thw little ones and a money pit for grown-ups. So, do yourself a favor and avoid if possible. Should you have to shop there, try and avoid bringing your little bosses, unless you wanna come out of the store a few pounds lighter and withwith tears on your cheeks. Three levels and many different rooms filled with neatly organized toys very similar to the toys in the USA. Think of it as a Toy's R Us in a really old building. Some of the toys are higher quality, like the Corolle Dolls and many nice infant toys. Their art supply and educationl selection was wonderful. Our stay at Toyland was short-lived, because my 5 year old was instantly drawn to the drivable cars/tractors/motor cycles..Americans who have been to Toy's R Us, know that children are allowed to touch and play with whatever toys they can reach, including these automobiles. However, we were quickly told not to allow him to play with them. My toddler spied him getting out of the car and from that point the screaming began. I felt very uncomfortable here. I have read that children are not allowed to touch things in toy stores, but I forgot to remind them before we entered. The toys are also VERY expensive, which I assume is true for all of Italy. Legos that cost $12 US are $25 US here. The staff was fine and at first very friendly and helpful. I think this is traditional in Italy. Americans may wish to find somewhere else to shop, I found very few unique Italian/Euro toys here. We would love to find a small shop.
