There is a very good selection of men's after shaves/etc. Walk straight on for a wide range and excellent display of men's clothing and shoes. Very good range of classic shirts, (if they've got your collar size in). Lift to upper floors for other requirements ie Ladies garments, household etc. Store situated in a partial pedestrian area, (look out for the buses)..!! Car parking locally at an extortionate price, bordering on Highway robbery. You'll need to factor this in when shopping....

I always used to hate department stores. But I have been converted over the years…read more If truth be told I would give this store a 4.5 stars if I could but in this case I have rounded up. Since I have been back in the Uk for my visit I have been 4 times to this store. The first time I was just browsing for baby clothes and toys, second and forth time it was to use the baby change facility and third time was for a makeover at the Benefit counter. On the second visit I went to the baby changing facility as the store I had planned to visit had suffered a flood in their room. Of course the toilets, baby change facility and childrens clothes and toys are all on the top floor, this has to be the main thing which would tip them to a 4.5 star review instead of 5 given that the lift/elevator is quite slow and there is no way you can get up that far with the use of stairs! The baby changing facilities are great, smelly bin/trash can aside of course (but that is a given wherever there are changing facilities). In this one there is a toilet and sink so you can go relieve yourself at the same time and if you have toddlers/small children there are mini ones for them too in there! There is a great selection of baby and childrens clothes available here, ladies clothing, mens clothing, accessories, homeware and of course a café! Debenhams are quite possibly the best of department stores in regards to their selection and availability within towns. Not many towns are without a Debenhams and that is one of the reasons why when we got married almost 5 years ago we had a wedding list with them. In addition to the registry availability you will find there is a personal shopper service available. I can spend hours in this store, or would if my little lady would let me! She is a shopper in training!

When I was little there was nothing I loved more than looking around Gamleys, I could literally…read morespend hours browsing the shelves looking at all the toys and just imagining having a bedroom big enough to hold them all and enough hours to play with them all (ie, no school or homework). Fast forward to now, me, a 30 something with a baby and I am again loving looking at toys. Of course, Gamleys has gone, there are very few toy shops around, unless you count the giant stores which you find in industrial estates, so when I was told that this place had opened I was excited to go see it. I was very impressed with the selection of toys available and the prices are very reasonable given that it is only part of a small chain of stores owned by people who used to work for the failed Woolworths (RIP Woollies another place I used to spend hours browsing). So why not a five star? Well, the branch is smaller than it could be, which means it is at times difficult to get round if you have a stroller/pushchair and also there is a limit to the items they can stock.

The toy department of the store is up a flight of stairs, I found the stairs and the escalator but couldn't see the elevator/lift and there was no staff member available to ask at that time so I ended up leaving without looking! I shall go back and see if I can find the elevator/lift and then edit the review. I love the selection, still like the layout (from a browsing on my own point of view) but being unable to find a lift/elevator or find a free member of staff left me a little bemused this time!

Good old fashioned department store. Looking for a special occasion outfit or just jeans, they have a great choice in various label departments. Only downside is lack of or not on high enough air con.
