Came here by chance yesterday because I stopped at a nearby starbucks and noticed a tick on my puppy's paw. I have no experience, so I came here for help and everyone was so welcoming and offered assistance right away. A groomer got the tick off easily and they were not only happy to help, they were also so excited to see him. They didn't want any payment, so we tipped them and bought a few things to support the business. I wish we had more pet stores with service like this everywhere!

The woman working the cash register pointed (vaguely) at the cleaning station. After walking around a little bit I found it. I cleaned up the mess, but it took me 4 trips walking back and forth to get more paper towels and throwing away the dirty ones. I had to do this one handed-while holding both dogs. The cashier sat there chatting with a customer while they watched me cleaning, seeing me struggling to do all this one handed. No employees anywhere. I REALLY could have used someone's help, just to hold my dogs leashes so i could at least use both hands. Then when I finished cleaning I walked over and she started the return. She had difficulty doing the return so called for help. Then there were a total 4 employees that came out of nowhere. Asking if they could pet my dogs Could have used their help when I really needed it. Won't return.

She doesn't just stop providing services once you leave the shop. If you need her for ANYTHING even after years, she will be there without a thought. She has even watched our pups while we went on family vacations. She wanted them to be somewhere she KNEW they would be safe while I was away rather than in a kennel. Their store is so neat! I honestly don't know how they keep it so tidy, but it's spotless every time we show up. I love the brands she carries because they are quality specific brands you can't buy anywhere else. Plus, the fact that she brings her pups in each morning to greet her patrons is always the icing on the cake. They are so sweet! If you are considering a pet, come here. Other pet shops don't compare and the pet you get is likely to be ill cared for. You won't find that here. Sometimes this might mean you have to wait your turn but doing things right the first time is the fastest way in my opinion. If they are helping someone else when you walk in just take the time to look over the inventory as they seem to have new/different fish and items each time I visit. Unlike many other fish places they wont sell you fish unless they know they are healthy. They will quarantine sick or new fish to ensure you get the highest quality fish for your home. If you are looking for someone passionate and knowledgeable about caring for a tank this is the place.

My experience - I was told by another shop to give them a visit. When I entered the "lobby" was cramped and dark. No one was at the register, and from what I could tell there were three people working in the store, with 6 guests, including myself. 2 of the 3 were engaged with a lady who went on about her fish experiences, and with the rest of us standing around, at no point did the elder male, or the Latino (?) lady attempt to break away from that conversation. The other employee was doing tank servicing, and without that, their inventory does not last (so hats off). I had been standing there for 15-20 minutes before I was told to be patient. Having driven from Live Oak FL to N. Valdosta specifically for fish and aquarium rock, I was being overly patient, because I did not want to waste the trip. Even though I saw active tank or water maintenance, most of the tanks were not well kept. I was there for salt life, hoping for Live Rock, but nothing in their tanks looked appealing, or new tank friendly (durable). There prices, of those I saw, were actually pretty good. During the 30ish minutes I was in there the lady I'm guessing was a regular customer never stopped talking, and the older guy never made eye or vocal contact with anyone else. All customer service was relegated to the lady providing the critical service of tank and wildlife care. I'm a one and done with them, and will invest my time heading to Tallahassee (High Tide) or Gainesville (Aquatropics). Valdosta does have another option, and it's run out of the guys back garage - Imperial Reef. He has a great set up, all be it small, it is well designed (call before you go because he's not yet doing salt water and supplies full time yet. Here's to wishing Exotic Fish the very best, and I hope you break out of the slump, and find a way to be supportive of customers needs.
